Nice jump back up to 4th, and we’ve got the most amount of remaining racedays out of the entire division. They’re actually useful RD’s too, not just filler which could propel us onto the podium if we’re good enough.
I could almost copy + paste danny’s post as we have the exact same issue of having a team of geriatrics; this season was either promote (which is still uncertain) or rebuild for next season. Interesting times ahead.
17th looks a lot better than the 23rd we were last rankings. With a projection of 13th too, looks like our season is going pretty well.
Coppel also going absolutely insane, missed out on a few GC chances and still putting up 1.21k points is insane, pretty disappointed that his season is over.
Been a mad last few months with work, but away on my travels over summer now (as part of moving from the UK to Estonia the hard way!) so able to start catching up over the last few days.
All in all this is quite disappointing from our perspective, though bar a few Monsalve underperformances we've basically done as I'd have expected for most of the season. However, Yates still has 2 big stage races remaining (ToA and Maroc) and in both is a reasonable bet to score well, while McCarthy has a good run of classics he should really be in the top 5 of all of - and Besseges still to be finished.
So I hope - and somewhat expect - we'll make it into the top 5 when all is said and done, as we'd be there on PPRD without ToA being included currently, and should score reasonably well in every race we have left. And if the Fablok/SPAR/Indosat trio have a few bad races as well as Yates winning ToA then we could even get into that fight for 2nd, which was really the minimum aim at the start of the season.
Very impressed with how our season has turned out with us being in 11th place... However we have done our usual load up the first half of the season and forget about the other in our planning so I dont expect to do so well in these last few races and challenge for an unexpected top 10 overall. Also hope Kraftwerk stays up and I wish them well for the last few races as well.
