Sorry to our intrepid reporter that I am a wee bit late checking in here, but catching up now!
Ooft, damn good show from WCC in the opening TTT, struggling against the biggest hitters since then, but interested to see how the remaining stages with their diverse characteristics pan out. Arrisol our only hold-out from the high TTT placing not too have lost a ton of time yet, still hanging in the GC top 20. Really wanted to bring all-rounder Feng here as think he good do a steady GC showing with his stats, but had to prioritise using his versatility as a key domestique for the clashing ToA title-tilt.
Cobbles up next should shake things up again! .

Strong stage by Greg. Multiple attempts to break away and finishes on the stage podium with many strong riders gapped. Becis also with a strong showing so far.
Cool to see Koretzky win after stage 2 - instant redemption. Congrats sotd!

Great racing by Wisniowski again. A bit unlucky that he didn't get a gap down to the next group, but all in all a very good stage. Now hopefully he can have a good TT to get some more distance to some of the GC guys that also goes well in the hills.
Congrats on the win Roman! Thanks for another brilliant report, Abhishek.

Decent performance by Trentin, who would have been in a promising GC position as well without the time loss on the hilly stage. As it stands now, 7th with a TT and a hilly stage remaining, a top 10 overall feels difficult. eventhough the time gaps are big. Fingers crossed he can find his way to a top 10, at least that must be the goal now.
Congratulations to Roman on the expected stage win, but also to tastasol with some great racing by Wisniowski! Assuming the Pole takes the GC lead after the TT, the battle for the overall should be really, really interesting on stage 7. |

This has to be one of the worst performances the Isostar squad has ever had. Kump and Polanc both completely loosing it on a stage where they shouldn't be far off.

Gerts looking good so far. He still needs to put some time in front of the some of the riders that are ahead of him in the GC in the last hilly stage to get on the podium though as we have a top 3 goal here.

Van Avermaet still in a good GC situation. Obviously the TT will make it look ugly again but with another hilly stage there is still hope and he has gotten additional time on his rivals on the flat stage in past seasons too...

Great stage by Lammertink. Not so good from Gerts since he now needs a huge hilly stage to get on the podium.

Great stage 4+5 consistency from Arrisol who continues to surprise - up to 9th in GC now even although stat-wise I generally consider him 'just' to be a handy versatile domestique. Performed over-and-above on the cobbled stage (maybe Bush was helping on the day? - looked like it), and reliable in the TT. Hopefully he can keep his steady performances up, the hilly stage probably his biggest danger for a big slip down the GC.
Overall nicely poised - will Boom re-produce his hilly stage heroics from the past to take the overall, or will one/some of the cobbled dudes hang tough (Bewley with the jersey obviously most likely to do so). The Gazelle duo in 2nd and 4th also look very dangerous for the overall!
As always, the diverse stage profiles here at ToNE throw up very interesting racing with some riders well down one day able to reappear the next!
Thanks for the reports Abhi .

If Kruijswijk and Potts have a good day in the hills this might become a very successful race for us.

Nice to see Neilands join the break and thus grabbing some unexpected stage result (next to beloved Veyhe!) but the focus is on the next stage as it is the one stage where Greg has a chance to climb the GC against all those cobblers. Cant wait to see the action on the hills

Next stage could potentially be interesting for us with Koretzky, but at this time he definately isn't the only puncheur that have lost a significant amount of time, so I suspect a lot of the best will try to win that stage.
A good daily form is needed for Koretzky to fight for the win - and hopefully the stage will see a huge leap in the GC although that horrible timeloss on stage 1 and 2 (5 minutes) will cost him any chance of entering top 20.

Good TT by Trentin to survive inside the top 10 overall. Now he should be able to keep that for the hilly stage, but it will need him to be more aggressive/better positioned compared to the first hilly stage.
Thank you for the consistent reporting, Abhishek! |

Shame I am too busy to regularly check by and post at least a thanks for the reporters, that keep the game going right now.
In especially in races such as TONE, which are some of my team`s favourite.
But it`s good to see my plan more or less worked out here with Boom doing okay and Gallopin only lost a bit more than hoped in the cobbled stage but still looking decent with Van der Poel looking okay for the U25 jersey. |

Very late move by Gerts. Gaining one place in the GC is good but failing to be on the podium is a disappointment.

Some time lost for Wisniowski, but nothing major. Unforunately I think his chances of winning the race was lost after the TT, which was a bit mediocre. Anyway, third place so far is a very good result for him. After the good team work on the last sprint stage, I hope for something similar to put Boeckmans in a good position in the last stage now.

Im a bit pissed about the lack of any action by Greg. Losing time on Bewley on a hilly stage is super annoying. Becis with a great result though for a great secondary gc position!
