Jocelin Maillet now up to 10th place, very interesting. Shame his TT is rubbish

This really needs a Dall'Oste attack or a Pelucchi stage win.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Very full first stage and also the second one was not the most interesting stage. On the second one it was due to Aleksandr the Great being just too damn strong for everyone else so far more justified than the other one.
Nice to see Henao up as high as 4th. If he could keep that it would be a good result for Philips!
Garby definitely the surprise of the race so far!
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Wow, that was a real bounceback from Garby. Like VSB in De Panne, he actually responded to my complaints! I love that attack. He clearly wasn't actually any stronger than a bunch of those behind. he just took the first chance he saw and gave him a head start. Now he's suddenly 6th overall! I have no delusions of keeping that or anywhere near it with two more uphill stages and a 30 km TT, but it's still great to see.
Now time for Appo. He's survived, which is half the battle, but the mountains tomorrow are pretty scary. Hopefully they're far enough away from the line to not be too big of a difference, but they probably will. Regardless, I hope he can at least survive until the real flat stage then.

There goes any hope of the points jersey, if Pluchkin even mixes it in the flat sprints...

Hell yeah!
Obviously a very awkward sprint, but the execution of our plan was perfect - use our doms to catch the leaders and then follow the best train in the end. For once, it all went right.
I didn't think we had a shot after reading PCM's favorites list, but Appo seems to be in awesome shape at the right time, and beasted a victory. These are the kind of stages we desperately need right now. Hoping for a similar performance on stage 6, but don't wanna get greedy.
Thanks for the report!

Congrats BBL
Kreder obviously doesn't like the pressure of being a favourite!
Thanks for the reporting Vien

Henao pretty where I hoped he could after the first two stages. Had no hopes for the flat stage and that's how it turned out.

We get it Pluchkin, you're the best rider here so stop being such a show-off.

Great attacking intent from Henao and Pantano, something which we've not seen too much of this season, especially from the latter. Up to 3rd in the GC is nice, but now the tough part begins for the team.

Total domination. As expected. Pluchkin has been mixing up sprints before, and not bringing a guy like Ulanowksi makes sure PCM AI doesn't get too much confused Now just hold on to this, nothing heroic is needed, a 3 minute gap is more than sufficient, going for more could be asking for trouble

Good try by Senni, but can the rest of the guys do something as well? I'm looking at you, Dall'Oste!

Yeah, Garby got wrecked on GC there, as I suspected, but I'm still happy he gave it a go first. I always like aggression when I have outsiders as leaders.

Maillet down to 18th which is still 20 places higher than I was expecting.

That kind of performance is pretty much what I expected. Very surprised that Garby still managed to stay 14th overall considering how badly he plummeted there. Hopefully he can keep his top 15 in the TT.

The inevitable drop in for Henao in the hill stage. I'm glad it's just a 2 minute loss and not 8 minutes like in previous races. Hopefully the gap behind is large enough for him to finish in the Top 5. Pantano too losing time, but still up there in 15th in the GC is good. A bit disappointed that he didn't take his chance to attack the KOM despite being the strongest among the break!
