I have the feeling you could do it if you wanted but will be going for a different approach instead

might be the case, but that is the way of what should be the Team Slovenia in the future - we are going for the best Slovenian talents, and we wont be fear of paying a high price for that |

The Slovenian Cycling Project Isostar - Adriatic has set their goals towards the upcoming season. The big 2 goals are avoiding relegation and winning our home tour, the Tour of Slovenia.
| Tour de Slovenie | C1 | Win | | 4 Jours du Dunquerque | HC | Top 5 | | The Philadelphia Cycling Classic | HC | Top 5 | | Ringerike GP | HC | Top 5 | | Giro dell Emilia | HC | Top 5 | | Team Standings | Top 20 |
Tour de Slovenia: The big race for us: Our home race. The only one, so logically our win goal. In the Time Trial prone hilly race there will be several candidates for the win. Last year Andrew Tennant missed out closely on the win finishing second, this year it will be a lot harder for him being PCT. Still, we will try to find the right captain to go for the win on home soil.
4 Jours du Dunquerque: A race that is perfectly fitting the needs of Jan Polanc. Our Slovenian cobbled captain will enjoy the fact that there will be some difficulties in terms of uphill tests in the race. A Top 5 should be possible for our team.
The Philadelphia Cycling Classic: An unpredictable race fitting to our unpredictable leaders situation. It should be the one for the uphill sprinters, kind of Bole types. While Grega might not be the biggest shot for the race, we will try to bring in an leader that might like this race a lot from the Free Agency.
Ringerike GP: A pretty similar race to Philly, but this time we have a flat finish after some harder hills. Again, the same target Free Agent as for Philly could attend this race for us.
Giro dell Emilia: Another unknown race, where puncheurs with some climbing abilities should have the best of chances. Slovenia has three riders in the Free Agency that could fit very well to it, and at least 2 of those may end up riding in our colors.
Top 20 Team Standings: The lowest possible goal: Relegation. And we took it for one big reason: We will base our season on brining in the big Slovenian talents on the market, which will hurt our leader's budget. A tough season awaiting.

It's always good to have a defined plan and objectives heading into MG transfers. We wish you good luck in persuing your local regional talents, although expect competition to be tough for riders with future PT potential; always good to see teams with both strong RP and point scoring focus. After a good promotion season renewals seem to have gone well for you, in position for the battles ahead. Not long now until we find out how tough market conditions are going to be for different approaches!

The future of Slovenian cycling
The first big thing has landed at Isostar - Adriatic. With the signing of Matej Mohoric the Slovenian Team has managed to sign on of the hottest names on the Free Agency. Despite some tempting offers from all over the Pro Tour, especially Norway, we can proudly announce that young puncheur Matej Mohoric has joined Isostar - Adriatic. Rumor has it that he'll be major rider the team heavily relies on for the next 10 years.
Welcome Matej!

The future of Slovenian cycling
In a big trade with our friends from Hugo Boss Isostar - Adriatic signed their captain: Marko Kump. He came over alongside his last years leadout man Roy Jans, who is a great engined leadout sprinter.
Marko Kump will be our captain. He is one of the best hilly sprinters on the planet, proving that with over 600 points last season. By giving him the full leadership over the young team we hope that he can extend his points summit.
His race focus will attend as money tough sprints as possible, be it over hills or cobbles. There is where we expect him to be one of the best. Also it is very likely that he will attend our big goal at the Tour of Slovenia as well as all other goal races to try and reach the expected goals in these races (4 Jours du Dunquerque, Ringerike GP, Philadelphia International Classic).
Our team will have a big focus on supporting our new Slovenian star as best as possible, to be a great home for him until his retirement from cycling.

Wonderful for you to have two Slovenian leaders!
Kump will be an awesome guy in races with an awesome profile, while Mohoric has nice back-ups to succeed now but will be really cool next year. Nice job!

@Shonak: Viva el Kump!
@trekky: That is the way we wanted to go, glad we achieved it. Indeed Kump is in a must deliver situation now, while Mohoric has one year to prepare for that.
@knockout: Thank you! The "Arrow from Doljenska" and "Matej the Terminator" will hopefully save us next season and from then on grow even better.
@Djordje: Yeah, glad the most likely biggest talent from Slovenia rides in lime next year.
@Tamijo: Slovenian stars coming home :)

The future of Slovenian cycling
Finally the daily star gets the glory he deserves. gianni1 is coming home, and he looks perfectly in shape. Let's welcome our Stage Race Leader, Slovenian cycling legend Janez Brajkovic.
At the age of 34 he agreed to come home, joining the uprising young Slovenian squad. He still has it very much in his legs, and will hopefully be a big thread on the chrono-prone Stage Races of this years PCT season.
Janez Brajkovic continues the tradition of former stars searching for another shot surrounded by a young supporting cast. His main support will be Croatian climber Pavel Potocki, who took another step at last years loan at I-Gen. Now he'll try to support gianni the best, trying to grab a young riders jersey or two on his way. Be prepared for our regional stage racing double trouble.
We can't wait for gianni's celebration of second places already, same for the great irregular sprints he'll win. However, we hope that Jani can pull us strongly out of the relegation zone. Could be possible, if he's as relaxed as in our presentation pic. Welcome home!

gianni's celebration of second places already
I'd love it if he returned for this
Seriously though lovely team you're assembling over there in Slovenia, not always the way you wanted it but the future of Slovenian cycling seems safe in your hands. Mohoric, Kump and Gianni are all great riders. Will be supporting you in every race, good luck!

@jandal7: thank you very much, I'd love to see his return too! thanks for the support, we'll need it in the rough battle against relegation
The future of Slovenian cycling
Well, future might be a little over the top. Matej Mugerli will very much be a decicive part of the presence of Slovenian Cycling. The 36 year old routinier will have his debut at MG level this season. Our oldest rider still has it in him though.
With his experience he still feels very well on every terrain, but especially the hills have been the major focus of our tactical mastermind. Now you'd guess, that Mugerli is responsible for coaching Mohoric. And you are absolutely right. Matej also has the task to teach the younger Matej all the final things he needs to become an elite puncheur. He will not only have his chance by doing so this year, but also Mugerli will sign a contract after his career with the team to change into the management.
In this terms, Matej will also be the future of Slovenian Cycling. By giving his experience to the young team core. And by scoring some valuable points to keep the team up in the second division.

Mugerli is a super cool rider to have and should be a good presence for your youngsters, especially little Matej

The future of Slovenian cycling
One of the biggest goals of the season took place in the offseason already: To sign the brightest prospects of the ZeroTurnaround Talent Days. And with young man we got the most stellar one: David Per.
The young allrounder will head for some great wins in the future, there is no doubt on that. The question is: On which terrain? He has the potential to be a great puncheur, cobbler, sprinter and time triallist. But which way will he go? So far we see his biggest potential to grow as a northern classics man, not leaving out his sprinting capabilities.
He will not be able to show his potential yet though. Together with him we'll decided to find a place that ensures him the perfect opportunities to grow at. And that place is the ambitious new CT squad Philips - Continental. They already build up a great relation to us, and David Per will take a big role in their classics squad already. His leader will be an old friend of ours, promotion captain Jempy Drucker, who went together with Albert Timmer onto home soil for this year. Some lime blood flooding the new squad, and we hope that both sides benefit a lot from the partnership.
Back to Per we expect an agressive season from the youngster. He can be successful via breaks on several terrains as well as attacking the race from the peloton for Drucker. We hope, that he will come back even stronger for us next season. It is 100% ensured that David Per will spend a long time in our team, we will try to keep him for his whole career. Isostar - Adriatic is not just a team, it is a philosophy. And who could be a better face for that then the most promising Slovenian roleur in the history of cycling. Welcome David Per!

With the relationship already built up between our teams, it will be a pleasure to have Per riding for us this season. We hope we can do justice to his potential and play a role in his progress. While his primary role will be in the cobbles and some flats, he will not be restricted to just that. Expect to see him in the team for a variety of terrains.
Coming to the rest of the team, the increased Slovenian focus is a great achievement. Love the signing of Mohoric while Mugerli and Brajkovic bring enough experience and guile for what could be a challenging season. Oh, and Kump is a star! Top candidate for your rider of the season.
Hopefully you come out unscathed at the end of the season
