Schoonbrodt was very high on my list too, but sadly I couldnt find the cap space. Such an interesting rider.

@Viking: Yep, that's what I think too. I'd rather have a few flops than being unable to compete for victory.

@Selwink: Choo choo! Grin

@Bikex: Yep, always nice to have a legacy rider. Will be interesting to see how Kip works this time, I just couldn't resist not putting a bid on him. I'll always take a backup sprinter just in case.

@Scorchio, Sammyt93, Whitejersey: Agreed! I was a bit scared that his CO stat was too low at first, but I couldn't find any CT team getting a similar rider so I'm expecting him to do very well.

Some very nice riders you have there, should be strong. That mountains squad is super strong despite their ACCs. Simon and Schoonbroodt are very cool riders and Kip and Meyer should do well as well despite their one-sidedness. Impressive year one squad Smile

I will go out on a limb here and say I expect you to be up there fighting for the top spots come the end of the season. A lot of riders in your team were also targets for us. We would've loved Schoonbroodt in our team and he will do very well with you. Looking forward to the races now Smile

@Jandal7: Thanks! Hopefully hanging on with 2 climbers will be better than pushing for victories with one. Only time will tell Wink

@AbhishelLFC: Coming from someone with such a great team, that's quite a compliment. I'm sure we'll be close in the standings all year. Good luck!

Quite a different schedule compared to the other mountain-focused teams, as from what I've seen, we're the first CT team to announce participation in the Tour of America and the first CT team to announce to have gained a HC wildcard. I'm not pushing for promotion, so I couldn't care less about a position or two, but it'll still be interesting to see if this was the right choice.

Also my goals are for the cobbled races, so I might lose some budget next season since I haven't been able to sign a great cobbler (which is why I'm shamefully not announcing them in a big post). Still hope Schoonbroodt can give us a top 10 at least.

With your style of climbers I think Tour of America could be a good choice. Anacona did great there the last time he went at least.

Hey guys, as promised in my application, here's my monthly preview. Still need to reveal my jersey though, I'll do it as soon as possible Wink

January Preview

Vuelta a Tachira

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/profiles/c2/c2_vat.png

Squad

Winner Anacona
Andrea Manfredi
Ismaël Kip
Hersony Canelon
Jean-François Camier
Alexis Vuillermoz
Kevin Seeldraeyers
Jesse Kaislavuo

The first race of the season will already be a massive indicator of how the rest of the season will go for us. Having sent our two strongest climbers (I'm expecting Krasnoperov to be a total flop due to his flat stat and AI issues), it'll be nice to see where we end up in this climber-filled division. Extra attention will be on the first 3 stages however, as we sent the infamous hit-or-miss sprinter Ismaël Kip with Canelon as his leadout.

With 3 fairly short sprint stages, and enough stages for Anacona to show his consistency, I'd be really happy with a top 10 and a stage win here.

Great Ocean Road Classic

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/profiles/c2hc/c2hc_gor.png

Squad

Cameron Meyer
Lars Croket
Julien Simon
Haijun Ma
Bob Schoonbroodt
Emanuele Sella
Varsham Darbinyan
Luc Turchi

Our first C2HC race! Not much to say about this race honestly, it's 200km long and pretty much flat. Therefore I see little reason not to expect a massive sprint finish. Even though we may not have the strongest train here, I'm fairly sure that Meyer can give us a top 5 finish in his home country.

February Preview

After a successful Vuelta a Tachira and a meh Great Ocean Road Classic, it's time to move on to February. A fair mix of races which should give us even more info on where we will stand at the end of the season. And this will be all the data we'll get for a while, as we'll have the same amount of races in March, April and May combined.

Giro del Trentino

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/profiles/c2hc/c2hc_gdt.png

Squad

Winner Anacona
Andrea Manfredi
Lars Croket
Jean-François Camier
Emanuele Sella
Alexis Vuillermoz
Kevin Seeldraeyers
Haijun Ma

First of all - not sending Krasnoperov here. This was a risk, as he'll ride Langkawi instead and this race is much more suited for him, but I went for the gamble. I was scared for the AI ignoring former Winner Anacona (see what I did there?) after a likely time loss in the first TT.

I do feel like the most points may actually come from Manfredi instead of Anacona. After proving he likes to attack in Tachira, the time loss in the TT might set him up for a surprise here. Therefore I'd be disappointed if he won't be able to snatch us the young rider jersey.

Oh, and we also got a potential TT surprise here in Haijun Ma. And I sent Croket as our stage 3 sprinter. So there are plenty of possibilities for stage victories here too. If all the stars align, that is. Top 15 and a top 3 in a stage will be our goal.

Geraardsbergen-Bosberg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/profiles/c2hc/c2hc_gbb.png

Squad

Bob Schoonbroodt
Lars Croket
Emanuele Sella
Hersony Canlon
Haijun Ma
Varsham Darbinyan
Jesse Kaislavuo
Luc Turchi

Aah, the cobbles. PCM's biggest lottery. However, these are the type of cobbles Bob Schoonbroodt likes: Hilly ones! He may not stand out in any stat, but he is widely percieved as the best cobbler in these races in the CT except for Van Keirsbulck. The only downside may be his lack of support though, as I only expect Croket to stay with him for a reasonable amount of time.

We have a top 10 goal here, which should be easily doable. Any position outside of the top 5 for Schoonbroodt would heavily disappoint me.

Gisborne GP

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/profiles/c2hc/c2hc_gbr.png

Squad

Julien Simon
Maxime Monfort
Bob Schoonbroodt
Jean-François Camier
Emanuele Sella
Varsham Darbinyan
Jesse Kaislavuo
Luc Turchi

With all the focus on my mountain squad, I almost forgot that I have two puncheurs who are more than capable to go for points in the hilly classics. This race will be the first test for the Monfort-Simon duo. Monfort is the attacker (and the 2015 winner!), while Simon prefers to wait for a final sprint. We are not expecting victories from these races with major stars like vdH, Boily and Roux in the CT, but we hope to score a significant amount of points by having two riders with a high classicifaction instead of one. Having both of them in the top 20 and one in the top 10 should be more than reachable.

Oh, and let's not forget Schoonbroodt. He'll be here too.

Let's go, Reddit! Cool

March Preview

Only one race for us in March, which means we'll be on a break for a while to analyse our season so far, and hopefully come back stronger.

Bayern Rundfahrt

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/profiles/c2hc/c2hc_byr.png

Squad

Cameron Meyer
Lars Croket
Ismaël Kip
Hersony Canelon
Haijun Ma
Varsham Darbinyan
Jesse Kaislavuo
Luc Turchi

One could say that this race doesn't fit any of my riders perfectly. That is exactly the reason why we went all-in on this race. We sent ALL of our 4 sprinters and pray to God that the AI will pick the most suited rider for every stage to be the final part of our train.

Overall though, I'm expecting the most from Cameron Meyer. He's our most all-round sprinter and the only one with a very reasonable TT stat. Should the AI realise that and assign him as our main sprinter, he may go as far as being an outsider for the final GC.

Should the sprints be a total failure, we can always count on our TTer, Haijun Ma. He did extremely well in Trentino and should be able to get a top 15 in this race.

April Preview

Quiet days for Reddit in terms of racing days, and sadly it will stay like this for a while. At least it gives us enough time to fight for net neutrality. We allowed our riders to train in Italy and visit the Giro as they please.

Tour de Langkawi

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/profiles/c2/c2_lkw.png

Squad

Mikayil Krasnoperov
Winner Anacona
Cameron Meyer
Jean-François Camier
Emanuele Sella
Haijun Ma
Kevin Seeldraeyers
Luc Turchi

Krasnoperov's first appearance. If he doesn't lose time on the flat a top 10 is possible, but sadly that if is a big one. Nevertheless this race will tell us whether he's hit or miss, or just... miss.

If our meme climber doesn't surprise, we still got Winner Anacona as an amazing backup. The more balanced climber of the two should be satisfied with the two very tall, steep mountains, as his only weakness, a lack of acceleration, won't be very punishable here. The prologue might cost him a few positions though, even though it's very short.

Speaking about the prologue, Cameron Meyer and Haijun Ma will be our riders for the first stage and a possible leader's jersey after stage 2. Meyer doesn't have a train though, because, uh.. why actually? Sometimes I wish I could remember why I made some decisions better... We'll see if it works out.

May preview

One more silly race in May before things start getting more active for Team Reddit. It's a top 5 goal race though, so the importance of this race will make up for the lack of race days.

Tour du Faso

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/profiles/c2hc/c2hc_duf.png

Squad

Bob Schoonbroodt
Lars Croket
Cameron Meyer
Hersony Canelon
Haijun Ma
Varsham Darbinyan
Jesse Kaislavuo
Luc Turchi

One of the weirdest races of the season, despite being shortened a little. We got potential stage winners for every race here: Croket in stage 1, Meyer in stage 2 and, should our friendly requests to make him start at the front of the pack get accepted, Schoonbroodt in stage 3. We're hoping the team can coordinate well and give each other space to perform at their peak in these stages.

Plenty of potential points then, but getting them in the overall GC may be the toughest. Our top 5 goal will therefore need either a breakaway win or a really strong performance by Schonbroodt in stage 3. We #Believe in him!

June preview

And finally, we're slowly getting out of hibernation. After one race per month, we're starting to get more active in June. Still only 3 races, but preparations for the Tour of America are slowly starting.

Costa Rican Mountain Classic

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/profiles/c1/c1_crc.png

Squad

Mikayil Krasnoperov
Winner Anacona
Maxime Monfort
Jean-François Camier
Emanuele Sella
Alexis Vuillermoz
Kevin Seeldraeyers

The Costa Rican Mountain Classic is is a short but intensive C1 race, our very first one. Having performed well in C2 races already, Krasnoperov and Anacona are now here to test their strenghts in a race in a field that will give them very little hope of achieving a victory. Regardless, it will be interesting to see how our squad will adapt to the higher level of competition. Attacking or hanging on? That'll be the question we'll have to tackle while preparing for this race.

Lillestrom GP

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/profiles/c2hc/c2hc_lil.png

Squad

Bob Schoonbroodt
Lars Croket
Ismaël Kip
Hersony Canelon
Haijun Ma
Versham Darbinyan
Jesse Kaislavuo
Luc Turchi

From Costa Rica all the way to cold, cold Norway. Manager Vien decided to attend the Costa Rican race, and a quick look at the race profile shows us why. Despite having a decent cobbler in Schoonbroodt, he only excels on them on hills and the race profile doesn't even show a speedbump. After Faso's debacle, I'm hopeful we can catch an early break and perhaps scratch some points that way.

Tour d'Andorra

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/profiles/c2hc/c2hc_tda.png

Squad

Mikayil Krasnoperov
Winner Anacona
Andrea Manfredi
Jean-François Camier
Emanuele Sella
Alexis Vuillermoz
Kevin Seeldraeyers

Mountains, mountains everywhere! The legendary Tour d'Andorra certainly isn't one for the weaklings. Five days through some of the most extreme stages I've ever seen, giving us enough potential to continue our brilliant performance streak in the mountains.

Despite expecting fierce competition, we decided to send all three of our major climbers here. Therefore this race will be the first major test for our "Sky train" and we are looking forward to see them perform. We are hoping the riders can put back their personal goals and rack up as many points as possible in this brutal terrain.

Vien
July preview

June isn't entirely over yet, but a long flight to San Luis means we have to plan ahead and start looking at July's races prematurely. June has been a solid month, with successes in Andorra, a nice 9th place in Lillestrom and the Costa Rican Mountain Classic meeting expectations (read: None). The only thirst that hasn't been quenched yet is the one for victories. Still only one (Kip) in January. Can we change that in July?

Tour de San Luis

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/profiles/c2hc/c2hc_tsl.png

Squad

Maxime Monfort
Julien Simon
Bob Schoonbroodt
Alexis Vuillermoz
Hersony Canelon
Haijun Ma
Ismaël Kip
Jesse Kaislavuo

With the Gisborne GP (3rd with Monfort) as our only hilly race so far, Monfort and Simon must be extremely eager to participate in their first hilly stage race, the Tour de San Luis. 8 stages, including a prologue and TT. Despite not having the most amazing TT stats, our main competitors haven't either, so if they can make a difference in the hilly stages a top 5 shouldn't be that much of an optimistic goal.

Schoonbroodt will be supporting them as a protected teammate. As the teamwork has proven to be exceptional in Andorra, can Monfort, Simon and Schoonbroodt do the same and rack up some well-needed points to not drop from the promotion battle?

Outsider for some stage wins will be hit-or-miss sprinter Kip, accompanied by Canelon, just like in his win in Tachira. Ma will also be looking for a shock in the prologue and the TT. Therefore we are expecting our jersey to show up in every stage in this tour.

Tour of the Battenkill

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/profiles/c2/c2_tbk.png

Squad

Bob Schoonbroodt
Lars Croket
Jean-François Camier
Emanuele Sella
Haijun Ma
Varsham Darbinyan
Luc Turchi
Jesse Kaislavuo

A unique race in the calendar, home race of a very unique team. 204 kilometres of hills and very long cobbled sections. We like that! And that's also the reason why the Tour of the Battenkill has been marked on the calendar from the start and why we set a win goal there. Schoonbroodt will be the guy to beat here, and despite lacking the stats to be one of the best cobblers, his hill stat should make him able to at least fight for victory.

What's the actual chance of him winning though? I'd say not very high. Van Keirsbulck has clearly proven to be better in Geraardsbergen-Bosberg, where Schoonbroodt disappointed heavily. We'll make sure to plan the race tactics carefully and make it all or nothing in front of our wonderful home crowd.

Tour of Bulgaria

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/profiles/c2/c2_tbg.png

Squad

Winner Anacona
Andrea Manfredi
Lars Croket
Haijun Ma
Jean-François Camier
Emanuele Sella
Alexis Vuillermoz
Kevin Seeldraeyers

Three more mountainous days for us in Bulgaria, and we certainly aren't tired of them yet. Due to not having Krasnoperov here and Anacona being a fairly weak TTer however, this certainly won't be the stage race we're expecting the most of. Points may actually come from Manfredi, who has proven to use his opportunities and attack when being behind in the GC, so we'll try to ease the pressure on our riders and hope it will motivate them to scratch some C2 points for us.

Oh, and we also brought Ma once again and Croket for the weird "flat" stage. Because we can.
