After long and hard fought negotiations and hour long analysis of route maps and stage profiles, possible riders to sign, ect ect, between Enrico Bocedi, Corporate Communications Manager Campari, and Team owner Mr. Katsuta, the final goal for the 2017 season have been settled and sent for safekeeping to MGUCI Representative, Mr. knockout.

Enrico Bocedi: "Alea iacta est", now you got a budget, start to build a winning team.

Italian - Japanese focus is certainly interesting and that beautiful jersey will stand out from the peloton with Kraftwerk gone, best of luck! Smile

@heine: Krisa has a few jerseys too, each of them beautiful! Smile But yeah, it does look like the Hoyle has taken over as MG jersey designer with amazing jerseys for the vast majority of teams. Smile

This the last week up to the transfers marked opening, is a very tense period in the Campari – Super Dry camp. There is a lot of new information coming into the office every single day primarily from MGUCI, meanwhile negotiations with the last staff members have been closed, just to mention one is Chef, Shisako Mizuho daughter of Soba chef Nagao Mizuho.

Another thing worth mentioning is that for the first time Campari – Super Dry has been mentioned on the renowned ManxMissile-ManGame Teams & Managers List, a victory in itself.

Gotta say, thats probably my favourite jersey in the MG you have. Its obviously great to see that another Japanese team has joined the MG, a clear sign that the sport is only getting bigger in the region. Smile

Tamijo
Thanks !
Mr. Katsuta had to draw in some financing from abroad (Campari), mainly due to the lack of good Japanese / East Asian riders and races in the current MGUCI. But we hope that this is a situation that will change in the future, something we must have a common interest in. Grin
Mr. Katsuta would sure like to see a team called Asahi – Campari in the future.

Eden95
If I follow your team, do I get a complimentary slab of Asahi?

Kidding aside, I'm loving the jersey! Best of luck during transfers Wink

Directeur Sportif Imelda Chiappa has this morning send a shot message at her twitter:
“Last night at 18:48 CET, Italian rider Federico Rocchetti have signed with Campari - Super Dry.”

31 years old Federico Rocchetti was riding with Team Ticos Air Costa Rica, but likely due to their promotion to PCT they decided not to extend the contract. Being in the autumn of his career, Rocchetti accepted a wage cut compared to last season, and will be a valuable domestic/free rider in the Campari - Super Dry squad.

Just to mention a few results: In 2015 Federico Rocchetti won Stage 6 in La Tropicale Amisso Bongo, at the time with Indosat – ANZ. In 2014 he won the KoM in Tour of Beijing at the time with Karcher-Adira Racing.

Glad to see Rocchetti found a team! Still remember his win in Bongo a few years back, was definitely worth his wage. Hope he does well for you Smile

Directeur Sportif Imelda Chiappa:

The team is very happy to announce that 33 years old Belgian Evert Verbist, not only have decided to invest a little money in this small team, but also have decided to accept the inevitable salery cut when moving from an established PT team to a new hopeful CT team. He will most likely not rider many more years, but he might later become a staff member, helping to form some younger cobbles riders.

Last year Verbist was riding for Jayco'z Cycling Project, his best result 18th in Ronde van Vlaandere. In 2015 Verbist was riding for Pro Continental Team TomTom.

Directeur Sportif Imelda Chiappa:

After negotiations was over with the above mentioned veterans, it was time to looks for some young talents and we started scouting Japan, hoping to find a young rider we could build on the coming years

We signed 21 years old Yosukue Matsumoto. Matsumoto is not a rider we expect to ever become a leader, but on the other hand a rider with already useful abilities. We hope for him to get some TV time in Japan, keeping Asahi happy.

If MGUCI will give us access in the local tour.

Directeur Sportif Imelda Chiappa:

Our next rider to sign was 25 years old Ukrainian Andrii Bratashcuk, after riding for PT team Metinvest-Dacia in 2016 Bratashcuk was released do to the sudden an misfortunate collapse of the team at the end of the season.

Bratashcuk was singed to Metinvest (at the time Metinvest-Emirates) back in 2013 although he was immediately loaned out for further development riding for “Die Berg Komt Er” in his first MG season.

After hard negotiations where several other teams were interested Campari – Super day was able to capture him, we hope for the strong puncheur to bring home some points in the hilly races.

General Manager Mr. Katsuta :

With most of our squad already completed, I would like to now explain a little about the mindset, ambitions and season goals we have at Campari - Super Dry.
One of our main objectives and the single reason I am in pro cycling, it to lift the amount and level of Japanese riders, in MGUCI pro cycling. This first season that task have been surprisingly hard to fulfill, and we have regrettably only two Japanese riders racing in the 2017 season, only one a young talent. We certainly have to improve on that.

Due to the involvement of Imelda Chiappa in our management and the related major sponsorship of Campari (75% of out budget), our focus is also huge in Italy. Here we have had a lot better offers from riders, and we will present a squad of 6-7 Italians, amongst them 1 young talent and a few of our best riders.

All in all our squad is composed of about 50% riders from our focus area, which is below par, we need to improve that to about 60% or better in the coming years.

All in all we will have 4 developing youngsters in the team, which is ok but in the lower end of our ambitions.

Now to the expectations and goals for the upcomming season: We have agreed to set up 5 goals in corporation with our sponsors, out of these goals we aim to pass on 3-4, below 3 and we will see that as a major failure, our plan have been to set realistic goals, getting in a strong position for the 2018 season.

CT Team Standings Top20
If this is not a realistic target, then we won’t deliver at any level, and a complete team makeover is needed.

Vuelta al Tachira Win
This is a longshot, a miracle is needed.

Tour d'Andorra Top10
Giro del Trentino Top10
Colombian Venteaux Top10

All these goals should be realistic, we know we haven’t got the strongest climbers, but we believe that we got enough climbing depth, to make if not all three then two.

Ian Butler
Praying for that miracle Smile

Selwink
You've already started building a nice core. Not sure who your climbing leader is, but Tachira always seems to draw weaker fields so who knows what's possible there. Same for the other goals. Top-20 in the rankings should at least be more than possible Smile
