A good 6th there shows Samwel isn't in anonymous mode, which is a good sign. However, he is bound to lose minutes in the TT so to have any chance of a decent GC here he needs to make a selection tomorrow. |

Yes. Yes. 100 times Yes.
A stage win on stage 1, relaxes all of the nerves! When I saw that break get clear, I was grimacing a bit, but credit to us, Sauber and ONCE for pulling it back. Contador in the prime position for the last few kilometres and rounds it off - in style. Yes!
Great first report trekbmc, covered it all in a nice, concise, fashion. |

Nice, hopefully Brajkovic can keep this position and keep ONCE in the PCT
Nice report and good to see The Rider getting a positive result

Great show from the boys here, well done lads!
Also nothing to do with Conta here, simply the strongest, gratz Rider!
Happy to keep Conta's wheel and theres more opportunitys to take him, although 2nd will still be a great result here.
Good start to your reporting duties trek btw!

No idea why we were working so hard to pull the break back, I guess it must be because we have so many Austrians present that they wanted to show themselves in some way for the home crowds and didn't want to let a break win if they weren't part of it.
Still it's nice to get a stage where we show ourselves and we didn't lose that much time, maybe we can make some sort of run at the teams classification as we lack a strong leader but have a few guys on a similar level, If not then I hope one of them goes for breaks and gets some luck to challenge for the KOM jersey.

Krasnoperov/Topchanyuk still with a shot at the top 10, and a very good chance on the top 15 at least. Pretty nice

What did I just say about breaks? lol Wohrer did well to get in the break on stage 2 and hang on aginst the climbers for a top 10 on the stage, hoepfully he can still ride well the rest of the race and not lose too much time.
our chances of the teams classification just disappeared though but at least we are still second in teh young riders standings, not that Eastman is going to be catchable but best of teh rest in that competition would be nice if we can hold onto it.

Pleased with the breakaway performance and Gomez Marchantes stage placing. We're here mainly for Sam Bennett, so anything at all we can take from the mountains is a bonus.

Samwel remains in the top 10, but will do well to stay in the top 20 at this rate with his TT skills. Needs to try and put some minutes into those below him on the final mountain stage.
Congrats ONCE, Brajkovic looks like he might take this one. Thanks for the great reports trekbmc. |

That's true, all season long. Coming back at Contador from '50 behind and beating him to the finish, yeah. Abal is another one that falls into that category.
Nice win for ONCE, really hard to see them in the relegation battle with a great GC here.
A shame we lose the GC lead on the ideal stage for Contador, would have liked to have had it for that hilly stage where the yellow jersey will have a massive advantage by being well positioned. That said Contador is a much better puncheur than the likes of Abal and VDB, only bull will see him fall below 2nd in GC.

? He did win the Volta Agua Classic! Amongst other good results! If this is his third win he has won more stages than Contador.
Thanks trekbmc! |

If König can survive the last mountain stage, he has a chance for a decent overall result, nice.

that went over expectations!
Perfectnes played out on girls by brajko! Massive result here which sees brajko taking big control here. Cant see brajko losing the race lead from here.
So important for our survival campaign especially after other rivalists has been doing so well lately aswell.
Btw, the rider, this is Brajko's second stage win this season
Although he has had a really succesfull season so far he either wins or dont make the podium at all his run in all races are 4th - 1st - 1st - 6th (giro) - 8th - 5th, so being consident isnt his strongest side either

Kiserlovski is here to try and fulfill our top 5 goal and so far he is surprisingly good and not disappointing like it was to be expected. In the first stage no time loss to most other favourites and also Gyung Gu Jang still in the main group and in the second stage the best of the ones that didn't make the deciding cut, but 2 minutes behind, which will be hard to make up again. 6th will be okay though if he can keep up this performance.
Took a gamble with sending my main sprinter Kip here, with two sprint stages late in the race. So far he always made the time limit, so the hope is he makes it until then and then should be one of the stronger sprinters. |

Top 5 goal here, so it's a very important race. Seeing as we have struggled and will struggle to achieve our other goals, it's even more crucial that Eastman finishes in the top 5.
In some races he's been really disappointing, but lately he's stepped up. Great performance in the first 2 stages. Now it's all about defending his place in the GC, and winning another white jersey!

Well, Marzano's not being as sucky as expected. Top-ten seemingly not impossible despite that crazy attack on the 1st stage |

Quiet stage for the team, would be nice to get in the break on these flat days with no real threat for the sprints present. Anyway, good to see Samwel staying out of trouble.
Thanks for another good report Trek. |
