I see you havent included Knut Knudsen even do Udoi poined it out. It must be because you dont know anything about him.
He was chosen the world's best time trial cyclist by two biggest sporting magazines from 1979 to 1981. Thats 3 years best in the world. He also have Olympic gold in Track, Pursuit, Elite in 72 and world champ in 73 amateur, wc silver elite in 75, 77 Track, Pursuit and bronze 76.
There was noone like Knut Knutsen thoose years. But was he the best of all time, maybe not but one off the best all time for sure.

KNUDSEN LEVANGER Knut was born in October 12, 1950, a runner's high, powerful, complete with formidable skills on the pitch, and a natural predisposition towards racing time trial and stage races, shorter than long. Knut was born a stone's throw from the fjords, Levanger, Norway, 12 October 1950. A "Viking" kind since childhood that to race in cycling, was forced to many sacrifices logistics.
Arrived among amateurs, he began to dictate not only among countrymen (repeatedly won national titles on the road, track and time trial), but the presence of the strongest in Europe. In '72, on the road, he won the Tour of Norway and the championships of Scandinavia. On the track, he won the Gold Medal at the Olympics in Monaco in pursuit, dominating, as it were of another category. The following year, in the same specialty, he graduated world champion, once again mocking opponents.
He passed professional in 1974, in Italy, in the ranks of Jollyceramica Giovanni Battaglin. It is now expected to treble on track, however, did not arrive. It was a finalist in the World Cup pursuit in '75, when he was beaten by Schuiten and in '77, when it was surpassed by Gregor Braun. He finished third in '76, behind Francesco Moser and, yet, Roy Schuiten. Great and unfortunate his '79 season. First he won the Tirreno-Adriatico (had already come 2nd in '74, '75 and '78!), Then the Giro del Trentino, demonstrating a tangible improvement in the long climbs. The Tour of Italy, after winning with a prodigious solo stage of Portovenere, while fighting for the win with Saronni (they were separated by a few seconds and still had to run the final time trial in Milan), was forced to retire for a disastrous fall just three days dall'epilogo.
In 1980, he triumphed again in Cronostaffetta and won, in Brussels, the Grand Prix Merckx. In 1981, he returned forcefully protagonist in the Tour of Italy by winning the prologue of Trieste (the "enemies" of the track and Braun Moser) and other stopwatch Montecatini and Verona. Triumphed in the Golden Wheel and, again, in G.P. Merckx. After a season so full of satisfaction and relevance, later this year decided to hang the bike on the nail. Many tried to convince him to continue, but he would not hear. After all, the insistence was legitimate: the world no one was worth in the role of lieutenant or real gregarious, not only for quality but also for the honesty that has always distinguished.
Thus, thirty-one when he could still play important pages, Knut, the man of the fjords and the sympathy that you can not forget, put an end to his distinguished career.
