Carapaz not satisfied
Rumours has its that Richard Antonio Carapaz, who signed with ONCE last season is starting to feel lonely in the team. With mostly being surroundet europeans and no other guys from Ecuador. Therefore will ONCE try get atleast one more guy from his homecountry this season to not upset the future star.
In other news: It has been pretty clear for a while now that last years leader, Arroyo, not will continue in the team, the same goes for veteran Castano.
Sportif direucter Costa Casanova, said this in an Interview:``The future of the spanish veterans is pretty clear, simply due too high wage demans and qualities who simply does not match these wages anymore, it's very likely they're leaving.``
That will of coure mean that Mr. Dev will have a much busier transfer season with A LOT of empty room to fill. Not to forget that ONCE promoted this year which they will face a tougher opposition and that means they need some higher quality riders to compete aswell.

2015 Goals Presented
Top 5 - Tour of Bulgaria C1
A race were we had great success last year even with a weak line-up.
That's why we choose this race and the route fits our focus even better this year.
Top 5 - Tour of Andorra HC
The most mountainous HC race on the calender probably.
No brainer to be here and we need a solid transfer season to compete here.
Win - Int. Österreich Rundfahrt HC
A route that includes pretty much everything.
Always been an entertaining race and we definetly think we can compete here.
OR Win Volcan de Aqua classic HC
Maybe the hardest mountain classic in the PCT calender. We really need some top-top climber in order to be feared here.
Top 10 - PCT standings
Might be our hardest goal actually.
But with a solid transfer's and a bit of luck even this is possible.
Win - Kenya Mountain Challenge HC
In a pretty climbing weak band. We hope that will minimize the amount of climbing oriented teams taking the trip to Kenya.
Does all our goals require a top PCT-level climber? Check
Do they aquire a bit of luck? Definetly
Do we think we can achieve? Absolutely
Have we taken water over our heads with these goals? Probably.

2015 Wages Revealed
Re-Signed:
Jose Luis Cano | 63,000€ | Jesús Herrada | 65,000€ | Miguel Ange Benito | 50,000€ | Thomas Bonnin | 50,000€ | Tom Jelte Slagter | 50,000€ | Jaroslav Kulhavy | 97,000€ | Nazar Jumabekov | 50,000€ | Richard Antonio Carapaz | 95,000€ | Pablo Mudarra | 50,000€ | Deiber Esquivel | 50,000€ | Marco Guillén | 110,000€ | César Rojas Villegas | 50,000€ |
Overall are we happy with the new wages in general. We might have been bit to generous when it comes to certain riders, but that's a price we're willing to pay to make sure we dont make any flops. Guillen is the one rider that really sky-rocketet in wage, but that was too be expected after his amazing season.
Released
David Arroyo | Carlos Castaño | Marco Salas |
It was a easy decision releasing both these spanish oldies considering how much over their weight they actually punched. Regarding Salas, do we feel that he's not good enough to continue at this level anymore.

Those low wages are very impressive, nice job.
Arroyo released could be very interesting for CT teams, he'd still make a class leader I guess.
Shame Slagter is not available for a PCT team

@beagle I know. I just couldn't let him go, he's our star
Pretty strange for a rider to go from 65k to 110k with no stat upgrades in a season but put put
@Jesley Thanks, think I've could have pushed it further though, especially for a few riders. Slagter is indeed not avaible for PCT teams, unless a unresistable offer comes along

First two riders secured!
It's with great pleasure we announce the signins of two great additions to the team:
Mario Gonzalez Salas and Klever Cuasquer!
Mario is a high quality spanish TT-er, who fits perfect in our team as a protected rider!
Klever is clever signing cause it's make Carapaz happy! And he is allround a decent guy.
Both are yet to reach their potential and thats only bonus that they're so good already, especially Super-Mario!

@All Thanks everyone! Hopefully he won't do worse than last year and win the individual rankings again
Strenghtening of our spanish core!
Although Brajko was our big highlighted transfer this season, is he far from the only important rider joining the team.
Igor Antón | 32 years old |XP: 4.100 | Wage: 240,000 Euros
Igor comes from Aker - MOT on a 1 million fee. He will be our co-leader this season and hopefully assist Janez in his most important races. He will definetly have some races to lead on his own aswell.
Aberlardo Ablenado | 24 years old |XP: 4.99 | Wage: 120,000 Euros
Aberlardo is a great catch and a great spanish stage racer already. Altough he ain't maxed out yet, we already expect big things from him this year and that he will be a great luxury rider for our captains.
Miguel Minguez Ayala | 27 years old |XP: 4.00 | Wage: 50,000 Euros
Miguel will serve his services for our captains. He is a solid domestique in the mountains and he's also not fully developed yet.
Imanol Erviti | 32 years old |XP: 4.100 | Wage: 50,000 Euros
Imanol is an expirenced rider and he will be road captain in the races he is a part of. He is also a valuable rider to our rather weak TTT-lineup.

Nice to see that you stick to your spanish climbing team identity. Quiet a nice team you're building up there and Brajkovic should still score well even with all those other climbers around!
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Gratz on signing Anton, one of my favourite riders who I'll love to follow around here. Hopefully more wins in MG than IRL in recent years.

Further strengthening of squad
We are pleased to announce the remaining signings of this transfer period, especially as it adds some key-riders to the squad.
Mikel Landa | 26 years old |XP: 4.100 | Wage: 215,000 Euros
One of our most wanted riders this season. He took alot of time to convince, but ultimately he made the right choice. Mikel will be our only puncheur this year and will lead our team in all of the hilly races. He is one of our 4 leaders this year and receives alot of responsibillity.
Jarlinson Pantano Gómez | 27 years old |XP: 4.100 | Wage: 150,000 Euros
Another strong climber in Jarlinson. Came at a fee at 750k from Project 1t4i, which we think is reasonably. He will a really important man in Brajko's mountain train and he will get some races to lead on his own aswell, where Janez isn't present.
Nejd Kozik | 25 years old |XP: 2.75 | Wage: 50,000 Euros
Our first and only cobbled rider this year. He still has a few years to reach his max but he will be a solid rider by the time he's fully development. He came in at a free transfer and he's pretty alone in a climbing orientaded team. He will also be a room-mate for Janez, as Brajko prefers to have a country-man on the same team.

Team Presentation: #1 Leaders
[img-r]https://cqranking.com/men/images/Riders/2015/CQM2015001333.jpg[/img-r]
Name: | Janez Brajkovic | Nationality: | | Age: | 32 | Wage: | € 900,000 | Specialization: | Stage races |
Our Designated captain. Janez will lead the team in our most important races all season, including our PT-wildcard to the Giro. We solely depend on Janez to make this season a success.
[img-r]https://cqranking.com/men/images/Riders/2015/CQM2015002023.jpg[/img-r]
Name: | Igor Antón | Nationality: | | Age: | 32 | Wage: | € 240,000 | Specialization: | Climber |
The basque climbing hero. Important man considering our focus and he will surely be a fan-favourite throughout the season. He will be our main man to rely on whenever Janez dont take part in the mountanious races.
[img-r]https://cqranking.com/men/images/Riders/2015/CQM2015014319.jpg[/img-r]
Name: | Mikel Landa | Nationality: | | Age: | 26 | Wage: | € 215,000 | Specialization: | Punchuer |
Our only guy for the hilly races this year. We have never had a strong classics team but Mikel gives us some hope atleast for the hilly races. He was won of those guys we just couldn't miss out on during the transfers.
[img-r]https://cqranking.com/men/images/Riders/2015/CQM2015007905.jpg[/img-r]
Name: | Jarlinson Pantano Gomez | Nationality: | | Age: | 27 | Wage: | € 150,000 | Specialization: | Climber |
Our third mountain leader this season. There's surely no doubt where our focus lies. He's unlikely Janez and Igor designed for the future aswell. But even this year will he have some important races to lead.
