YES! Three stages near me, I am pretty sure I am getting accesses to the 'saxo bank' lounge type thing so that will be awesome! |

I dont think so and honestly, I dont mind. Last year was the most boring ardennes I have ever watched. I know Gerrans isnt the reason for that, but he certainly didnt help the cause either..
Dauphine will implement a TTT at 26 kms to simulate the one in the Tour. Another good move in order to attract the best riders from the GC-contending teams. Looking forward to that one. |

I literally couldn't care less if he makes it or not. Sucks for him but he literally brings nothing to the racing apart from sticking out his wheel on the finishing line. Better without him for spectators. |

Langkawi could lose the Genting Highlands climb due to a landslide. |

I think everyone is aware of the fact he is just playing to his strenghts, we dont really blame him for that. Its just so god damn boring to watch which is why we dont really care if he makes it or not |

But surely we should care because the risk of Gerrans hanging on and winning the sprint forces other riders to attack, benefiting the race overall?

So I guess this is when this thread turns into a CIRC-thread...
Seems they have absolutely main focus on the past also bringing some of the shady things in UCI-behaviour out. They still believe there is a lot of doping today, though in smaller amounts such as microdosing.
I recommend the Inner Rings article on the matter: https://inrng.com/2015/03/the-circ-rep...rc-report/.
Also link to the report itself: https://www.uci.ch/mm/Document/News/Cl...eutral.pdf
This one also gives a good overview of some of the main points: https://pelotonmagazine.com/wilcockson...armstrong/

CIRC has ben thourougly uninteresting for the most part. Pretty much all old stuff and common knowledge and suggestions we've been making for years....
Some interesting stuff though dotted around. 1) It's been fun looking at Millar related tweets and reading his column today. Quite annoyed CIRC didn't come and talk to him considering he's the most open rider about doping of the modern era (arguably). 2) The media rection has been exactly as planned with attention grabbing "cycling doped to the balls" headlines and very little appreciation the sport is trying to clean up (though equipes positioning against athletics made me smile)

Apparently Fuentes is still active, this time operating in South America. At least that's what the CIRC report tells us.

Yeah how dare he rides to his strengths instead of going on wild attacks just to please the "fans"
Cycling might be better if it got rid of all the sprint races/stages aswell

Now don't take this the wrong way, but would you enjoy watching him as much if he weren't Australian? Or do you actually enjoy a guy wheelsucking his way to victory for 300km?

I'm not saying it's bad for him, if it gives him wins that's great for him. But as a spectator it's not something I rate highly. Let me put it this way, he's not a fan favourite and won't ever be. |

doubt thats the truth at all, just because he doesnt attack as much as rider X, doesnt mean hes not popular, maybe I should say Terpstra should break his neck the next time he rides?
If no applies to this then no applies to the Gerrans situation, you are just acting ignorant...

Apart from Australians, he really isn't all that popular for someone with the results that he has, from what I can tell.
In no way has he ever said he was happy for his injury. If you read it, he is basically saying its not a huge loss to him personally, he's not a fan of Gerrans (which is allowed).

Totally agree with the above, especially when all three Ardennes classics literally have the peloton arriving at the bottom of the final climb and the whole thing then just becomes a launchpad to see who can win up the climb.
I've no problem either with Gerran's riding to his strengths, but when I remember just how great the Ardennes classics can be it will be better if he's not fit to ride.

To be fair, the racing will always be the same, dont expect Kwatiek attacking from 40k solo, all you'll get is different teams controlling the race, if you believe otherwise, then you'll just be disappointed I'm afraid
