Didn't expect Porte to win this but guess he is back up and flying, Bobridge put in a storming ride so unless something goes wrong he will smash through Brandles Hour mark in a couple of weeks.
Oh and Brett Cottee once again comes in a distant last

GreenEDGE boss Shayne Bannan is clearly excited by his potential but careful not to put him under too much pressure too soon.
"He is competitive enough, so we want to take pressure away, not add to it," Bannan said.
He will miss the Tour Down Under but ride Cadel Evans' farewell race and the Herald Sun Tour next month before embarking on a carefully planned international campaign that will include a number of stage races, starting with the Tour of Catalunya in Spain in March.
These are good races in which he can be competitive while still learning what it takes to challenge the best riders and teams. "His first year will be all about learning," Bannan said.
Sounds more like he won`t. Except for a spontaneous change after his performances so far. But they still have Docker, Howard. Pretty sure l heard Ewan was racing Langkawi. Probably wrong though.... |

Well looks like Porte is back to near his best, will be interesting to see how he does in TDU. I would make him a bit of a favourite there as it is more about just Willunga this year I think.
I think Bobo is more suited to the hour recordthan Dennis being that it is on the track, no surprises for me that Orica couldn't get a look in their TT's are more suited to flat tests I think. In fact it could be a strange start to the season with them struggling to get an early big win.

And Roulston is out of the NZ RR Championships after winning the past 2 years despite the fact that it is in his hometown for the last time. He is instead preparing for the Tour Down Under.
And Jack Bauer, it seems, has also pulled out of the RR. No real reason it seems. Just says, elected not to enter.
Yeah Henderson isn't TT.
Didn't know that.
I read about Jack at Christmas time, the Herald did a preview. I heard he is at TDU though, maybe same reason as Roulston.

Indeed. I already planned to make him the top favourite in the RR bets later on. Now he seems to prove me right by having a great form.
Not sure what he exactly had last year. But apparently he is over it. That said, he was pretty damn good in January-March last year as well.
Regarding the ITT Nationals, I had thought it`s Dennis to take this one with quite a gap. And also nice to see Bobridge up there as well. Seems to have a good form ahead of his hour record attempt. |

Completely unsurprisingly Sarah Gillow won her 4th Nationl ITT title in the Womens event. Totally dominant she even caught 2nd place before the finish line (just but she did). This gets Rabo-Live off to a winning start about as early as possible.
Rebecca Mackey looks a fairly promising talent with her U23 win.

Yeah but the 3 guys who crossed the line 1st in the Elite mens TT would have handed Henderson his arse as they are all ALOT better the him when it comes to a test against the clock

Everyone say byebye to the NC Jersey because Peta Mullens won't be wearing it on the road this season. An excellent win in what looked like a good race. However she is now switching solely to MTB in prep for Rio. The NC RR is her only planned Road Race of the year so goodbye jersey, but the winner was very much deserved

Crazy attack from Ewan. Didn't know he could attack like that.

And Heinrich Hausseler is the 2015 Australian road champion! Well deserved after a couple of tough years.

Heinrich Haussler and IAM Cycling get to bear the Australian National Championship (RR) jersey this year. I'd say Haussler played a mean game of poker there by letting Caleb Ewan do the bulk of the chasing down in the last few kilometres. Probably gave him a slight advantage in the sprint finish.
Caleb might have shown a little bit of inexperience as well, going a bit early in the sprint with a full on headwind at the finishing line.
