I'm very happy with that boss.

Surprisingly, we also managed to bring in three BMC riders, all in separate deals. Let's meet them, and one more who we brought in.
Cadel Evans
Age: 37
Specialisation: Stage Racer
It cannot be disputed; Cadel Evans is history's best Australian cyclist. After finally winning the Tour de France in 2011, Cadel found his star status at the Swiss team diminished, and after extensive talks, we are greatly honoured to bring the legend home to finish his career. Cadel came to the team in a deal which saw Michael Albasini also back to his home nation. We were reluctant to let him go, but an extra 20,000 UCI Bucks in our pockets sealed the deal. Cadel will lead mostly week-long stage races for us, including the Tour Down Under and Tirreno-Adriatico. He will also ride the Giro d'Italia in support of our young star Diego Johnson.
Klaas Lodewyck
Age: 26
Specialisation: Classics
Also joining the team from BMC, Klaas cost us a large sum of 15,000 UCI Bucks. The Belgian is a very strong classics rider, and therefore he will be a very present fixture in our squads for the Ardennes, Cobbled Classics and Italian Classics.
Amael Moinard
Age: 32
Specialisation: Climber
Amael was the third rider to join us from BMC. We hope that the three guys showcased today will add to our already brilliant team chemistry. Costing 10,000 UCI Bucks, Amael know the French roads off by heart, and will be a key domestique in races such as Paris-Nica and the Tour de France.

After finally winning the tour de France in 2012
You can't get that wrong!
EDIT: Has anybody noticed, Cadel did win the tour, in 2011 He can only do it in year number 11.

Dammit trek I was going to say that.

11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Mitchell's TDU and Catalunya Preview
Hey all!
It's me, I am currently in Adelaide training and preparing with the team for the upcoming Santos Tour Down Under! It is great to have this opportunity to race for the first time for my team since my crash in la Vuelta last year. I have set a goal for myself of a Top 15 in the GC over here which should be doable depending on my role here. I probably won't lead but it would be nice to have a free role so I can try do something. I heard there will be a young Aussie girl racing alongside so maybe I can show her around
After the race I plan on going back to Tazzie for a few days to see the family before flying off the Spain for my extended preparations for the Volta a Catalunya. Should be a nice few days off before rejoining the team in Europe.
The Volta a Catalunya is my only other race in the first few months of the season which is what I requested. I am hoping to be in decent form but I am saving my best for the end of the season when I should be well trained and prepared for the Vuelta a Espana which is my season goal. Last time in Spain I won two stages to hopefully I can continue this in Catalunya.
I'll see you on the start line in Adelaide!
Mitchell

Hey Mitch,
Regarding roles, in the Tour Down Under you and Simon Clarke will be helping Cadel and Gerro go for the GC, as well as being Krista Marcus' official companion In Spain, you will lead the race with support from Gerro and Amael.

Tour de San Luis Preview
With racing set to get underway in Africa, it's not long until everyone's favourite cycling family (sorry Champion System) gets their season underway. Here's our preview for the first race of the year.
Tour de San Luis
Winner Anacona
Davide Cimolai
Allan Davis
Luke Durbridge
Diego Johnson
Jens Keukeleire
Pieter Weening
It's our first race of the season, and we'll be hoping for a Top 3 Overall Finish and a Stage Win. We have brought a very well rounded squad to compete on every stage of the race. With Diego, we really should be looking for 1st place, but we're not placing too much importance on this race so a podium would be good.
Diego Johnson
This is Diego's first race for the team. Hopefully he will come up big, and with some decent support with Pieter, he should do well.
Pieter Weening
After finishing 8th in this race last year, Pieter will take a different role this time around, and that could be a very good thing. With his help, Diego can really challenge, and this could be a good overall race for us.
Winner Anacona
Winner is also making his team debut in here, and in his home continent, we expect him to rise to the challenge of helping Pieter and Diego. Winner should be more than able to do the job and support our two main guys in the GC stages, while he will also be looking for some good results.
Allan Davis
Allan had a strong season in 2013, but it was mostly in the shadows. He will lead the sprint squad in Argentina, and with a lot of potential stage wins, we can count on Allan to pick us up some points.
Davide Cimolai
The third and final rider making his GreenEDGE debut here. Davide won't lead the sprint squad, but he will be a huge help to Allan in his quest for points.
Jens Keukeleire
The third and final cog in our sprint train, and he should be able to be our man to set up the sprint. Jens is also pretty good on the hills, and he could possible be able to help the GC guys to some extent.
Luke Durbridge
Here for the time trial, Luke is here to pick up a possible win there. He can even help on the flats. And that's that!

Santos Tour Down Under Preview
Mitchell Birt
Simon Clarke
Mitch Docker
Cadel Evans
Caleb Ewan
Simon Gerrans
Leigh Howard
We've managed to bring an all-Australian squad to our only home race of the season, and it's a squad which should contest. We have a goal here to win the GC and we'd also like to pick up a sprint stage win.
Mitch Birt: One of many to make his Orica debut in this race. He will be a key part of delivering Cadel to GC success.
Simon Clarke: In the same role as Mitch, it's Simon's job to protect Cadel up the climbs and set him up for any dash to the finish line.
Mitch Docker: The other Mitch is here as a leadout man for Leigh, and should work well with him and Caleb on the sprint stages.
Cadel Evans: Making his much-anticipated debut for the team, Cadel will lead us in the GC, and will place higg priority on going up Old Willunga Hill before any of his contenders. Richie Porte is his main challenger.
Caleb Ewan: The biggest talent in world cycling starts his pro career. With some good hill ability, Caleb should be key to our sprints, even at his tender age.
Simon Gerrans: Simon is here to compete on all fronts, but mainly in the GC. If the hill stages are less selective than we expect then he's our man, while he can also help out the sprinters.
Leigh Howard: After doing some great work during the off-season we're really excited to see what Leigh can do. He's made the move up to being our main sprinter alongside Matt Goss, and this is his first chance to shine in that role.
