Can't riders like Nibali, Aru, Boom, etc. join another WT team if Astana does lose their license?

Of course they can. But what other team is paying them as much as they get from Astana?
The teams have their leaders already and won`t offer lots of Millions, which in especially counts for Nibali of course.

Well we they would, but no need now.
As I said on last page, Astana gets the licence.

Well we all know the UCI's doping policy now, first Katusha and now Astana. Doping is acceptable after all. Why not give Lance Armstrong is 7 Tour victories back while there at it. After all its accepted by the people at the top who say they are doing everything they can to eliminate the cheaters. Clearly.

I wouldn't be surprised if they are pushing for Michele Ferrari's ban to be overturned so they can appoint him as team doctor.

I wish there was a way to stop them getting a license but I'm not aware of one, and thus they will be given a license. Also there is no way to ban Vinokourov without another lengthy court case as we got with Bruyneel because he has already served a suspension for his doping. And unless this Padova investigation can prove to them that he was involved to the extent of Johan then I just don't see it happening. The rules regarding doped managers need some serious reform.
Also L'Equipe yesterday reported that the UCI cannot take recent discussions of Ferrari's involvement into account because it does not have the Padova file itself. So take that into consideration when thinking about if they will actually get a ban.

Well I think they should get one, unless they can prove Ferrari doped at least 50% of their team. I personally think they will be punished for 3 months like scarponi
You know that even stuff like the Festina affair couldn't prove 50% plus right? That just doesn't happen.
Look at USPS with the brown bag policy of only doping the top riders. That's more like what happens these days.

I do. This is clear signal that UCI is fine with mafia practice and doping in cycling. Enjoy it fans

Typically good summary at Inrng https://inrng.com/2014/12/astana-uci-l...i-licence/
First line "Astana have got their World Tour licence for 2015 following a late review from the UCI. A shock? Not really because the rules don’t give the Licence Commission much room to exclude a team"

I think UCI bottled it because there are no other team capable of replacing Astana in the Pro Tour. Europcar are becoming a Conti team and no one else can really replace them with the new season so close to its start.
Its a shame coz they could have made a big statement by getting rid of them. Any problems they might have next season and they would be finished. |

But if you sign for a team with Vinokourov as manager and riders like Scarponi and LLS you know you take a risk at least. This is kinda bull shit, then you can't sign at any team Remember Riis, Ekimov, Demol (Bruyneels boyfriend) Movistar with valverde,.... I don't have to say more I think
I never said they can't sign, which is what you want to make it look like. If you sign for a team like that, you know you take a risk. If you take a risk, you should accept the consequences.

It just shows that they need more rules that can stop this kind of cheating... Everybody knows what has happened.
But also, i understand that it is hard to exclude them without proof |
