He's getting there, just can't quite crack it. Not sure if its his form or my poor sprint strategy Wink

In other news, the team scouting network has unearthed some fresh new British talent.

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_01Oct191259.jpg

Johnathan Spiller has accepted sponsorship from the team and talks will begin in July with a view to him signing a contract at the end of the season.

Circuit des Ardennes Stage 2 (Fromelennes - Hargnies)

As the riders take the start for the second stage, Adrian Petit leads the overall by 26 seconds. The goal for the stage was a stage win for Rick and an attempt to get one of the guys into the break with an option to take some points in the KOM competition.

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_02Oct191311.jpg

Several early attempts were made at forming a breakaway, but with early sprint points available the peleton closed everything down, with Rabobank Development Team on the front. After the sprint classification, the peleton eased off and five riders formed the days break, Jasha managing to get amongst them after some hard chasing

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_03Oct191324.jpg

He managed to take maximum points on the first KOM sprint, but Cofidis had taken over the head of the peleton and weren't cutting the break any slack. The break was caught with 49km to go, before the final KOM sprint and the relentless pace set by Cofidis had broken the peleton apart with several large groups out of the back.

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_04Oct191330.jpg

Jasha managed to stay at the head of the bunch, collecting a few more points in the KOM competiton, just pushing him into the lead of the classification. At the top of the climb, Bert Jan Lindeman of Rabobank launched a solo attack with 15km to go.

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_05Oct191335.jpg

With 10km to go, the lead group broke apart again, leaving Matty with a frantic chase to get back on

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_06Oct191336.jpg

Lindeman managed to hold off the pack with a great solo effort, while Matty was first over the line for VRT in 8th place.

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_07Oct191337.jpg

Jasha made the podium in the KOM jersey on level points with Wout Van Aert of Vastgoed.

The team also maintained its lead in the team competition.

Circuit des Ardennes Stage 3 TTT (Monthermé > Monthermé)

This stage was TTT so I simmed, and with just cause. An average performance by the team saw their GC aspirations go out of the window.

Tour of the Resovoir

Those riders not appearing at the Circuit Ardennes, were given their chance at the Tour of the Resovoir. This was an important chance for the sponsors to showcase the team on British roads. The guys were told that whoever had good legs on the day should go for the win

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_01Oct242347.jpg

As the race got underway, Alexis and Jelle rode on the front waiting to latch onto the days break, while Chris rode shotgun for John Mac to keep the sprinter fresh for the days finale.

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_07Oct242356.jpg

After a determined chase, Alexis was the first to succeed

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_02Oct242350.jpg

The days break formed, but as the weather deteriorated, the peleton closed it down

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_05Oct242352.jpg

Next it was Jelle's turn

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_06Oct242353.jpg

The break was given little slack and with 7km to go Kristian House of Rapha was the lone escapee

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_08Oct250003.jpg

With 4.5km to go the pack fought hard to bring him back, with several guys from the team in the leading bunch

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_10Oct250003.jpg

As the bunch went under the kite, Chris Opie jumped off the front and began his sprint, quickly gaining several bike lengths

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_13Oct250005.jpg

And claiming a great win for the team on home soil

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_12Oct250004.jpg

A surprising but welcome win for the team and great exposure for the sponsors

Circuit des Ardennes Stage 4 (Charleville-Mézières - Charleville-Mézières )

The 4th and final stage of Circuit des Ardennes saw the team with no GC aspirations, however Jasha was joint leader of the KOM classification. This meant he would have to ride in the break to secure enough points to win. The rest of the team would ride to support Rick hoping for a stage win.

The break of the day formed and Jasha was in the mix

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_02Oct302010.jpg

The stage was ridden at a high pace, with the peleton fracturing into several groups. Meanwhile Jasha managed to win the days only intermediate sprint, pick up 2 points on the days first KOM climb and then lead over the second for a total of 8 mountain points on the day. The break rode well all day and as it approached the final climb of the day with just 11km to go, it still found itself with a minute and a half lead over the second group on the road. Jasha decided to turn the screw and quickly opened up a 20 second gap

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_05Oct302028.jpg

As the lead riders dropped down into the valley and back onto the final circuit, they became embroiled with the tail-enders being lapped. A chaotic finale ensued and as the lead riders came to the line, somehow Jasha sneaked the win, another great result for the youngster

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_07Oct302032.jpg

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_08Oct302033.jpg

Overall winner of the GC was Bert-Jan Lindeman of Rabobank Development Team. In addition to his stage win, Jasha also topped the overall in the KOM competition

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_10Oct302034.jpg

All round a very good four days for the team.

Again the stage crashed as the teams were being textured

I had to sim, but Sven Vandousselaere managed a very creditable 2nd place.

Tour de Bretagne - Stage 1 (Paimboeuf - Clisson)

The team arrived for the opening stage of the Tour de Bretagne and the last few weeks of hard racing seemed to be taking its toll, with a few of the guys not feeling at their best. Nobody managed to get into the break, but with only two 4th category climbs toward the end of the stage, there was not much to ride for.

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_04Nov011741.jpg

Team leader Matty, settled himself in the bunch for the day.

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_03Nov011737.jpg

With 10km to go and the breakaway almost reeled in, Matty decided to attack over the top of the last climb.

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_05Nov011744.jpg

But with the peleton bearing down, the attack came to nothing and it was all together for the bunch sprint. And it was that man again, Adrien Petit of Cofidis who took the win, with Sven the first man over the line for VRT just outside the top 10

Ok... It seems there is a d/b bug with Itera Katusha which is causing the stages to crash during team texturing... in an attempt to remedy this I reinstalled all previous PCM d/b updates yesterday and in the process over wrote all my custom gear for VRT... DOH !!! So yesterday was spent recreating those Sad
Zuid Oost Drenthe Classic crashed so I simmed with no notable results Sad
Rutland Melton classic includes Itera so until the bug is resolved the story is on hold... I will post results of Tour de Bretagne stage 2 later today...

Tour de Bretagne - Stage 2 (Vay- Mauron)

The stage began today with some of the guys in the team still feeling under the weather, noticeably John Mac. So his participation in any sprint at the close of the stage looked unlikely. Jasha was the free rider today, but failed to make the days break, so the guys rode in the peleton. Best placed rider for GC was Sven, 20 seconds off the overall.
The break was finally caught with 17km to go, as La Pomme and Cofidis lead the peleton and prepared for the sprint. At this point with Mac languishing mid peleton it was just a case of staying at the head of the bunch and avoiding time gaps.

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_01Nov051141.jpg

As the peleton hit the 5km to go mark, Sven tried to jump off the front of the peleton

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_02Nov051143.jpg

But with 2.5km to go, La Pomme and Roubaix close him down and its all together

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_03Nov051143.jpg

As the peleton comes to the line, Sven fades. Perhaps today we should have given Romain Zingle a chance as he roles through ahead of Sven

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_04Nov051144.jpg

The stage win goes to Maxime Vantomme of Roubaix

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_05Nov051144.jpg

But the overall remains in Adrien Petit's hands on count back. Best placed rider for VRT is Sven, 28 seconds down

Tour de Bretagne - Stage 3 (Mauron - Jugon les Lacs)

The team is beginning to finds its legs as the Tour de Bretagne moves into its 3rd stage. Despite not being at his best, Jasha is tasked with getting into the days break. An important day for the KOM classification, with five 4th category, two 3rd category and one 2nd class category climbs on offer.

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_01Nov091908.jpg

After a hard chase, Jasha joins the two leaders

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_02Nov091909.jpg

But as the riders hit the first climb, he is attacked and unable to respond

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_04Nov091912.jpg

Jasha tries again and again to stay with the leaders on the climbs in an effort to progress in the KOM competition, but just doesn't have the legs today. He loses over three minutes to the break, but manages to stay ahead of the peleton until the 2nd category climb

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_10Nov091933.jpg

He is reeled in with 35km to go, and goes straight out of the back of the peleton

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_13Nov091937.jpg

On the final climb, with the peleton splintered into several groups, Romain is our strongest rider, and attempts to follow the leaders over the top

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_14Nov091940.jpg

As the sprint begins, Markus Eichler of Radnet is out of sight, but Romain is still in with a chance of a top ten finish

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_15Nov091941.jpg

As the riders come to the line, its 8th for Romain

i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss229/Jaywol1439/ScreenHunter_16Nov091942.jpg

Eichler's 58 second advantage over the line, gives him an overall lead on GC of 1 minute 6 seconds, with Matty, Romain and John Mac just outside the top ten
