Another conti-pro italian team: the former continental team Vini Fantini-Nippo-De Rosa will become a ContiPro the next year and it confirms the Cunego's rumours: he will move there. Though, I feel confused: Neri Sottoli and Vini Fantini are basically the same team, or more specifically, the last one is almost the conti-team of Neri Sottoli, (a bit like Katusha and RusVelo the last years, even if Katusha now has Itera), so what this will mean?
I don't think there is any relationship between the two teams. Actually they probably hate each other after what happened with Di Luca...

No, they have relationship in some way because Valentino Scotti is a part of both teams, he only plays a minor role in Neri Sottoli.
And as for Antonio Nibali, yeah, he is really like the 2nd Jerome Gilber, I only didn't know who compare him to

Though, just bought Gazzetta. I can read that Alonso isn't going anymore to build his conti team
It says that people close to Alonso asked the UCI warranties for many months and they have never had serious responses, this is the main reason. Also the sponsor, Novo, is losing interest in the project. What a sad news.
Other than that, Colle delle Finestre and Mortirolo in next year's Giro
I don't think that it will be an easy route
Those are two of the nastiest climbs in italy. Expecially Finestre with its unpaved road. Loving it. Link to the news: https://www.cyclin...akes-shape

I don't know, I am worried that climbs like Finestre and Mortirolo are starting to become a bit overused. As with so many of these climbs, when they are in it it should be special. The same thing has happened with the TDF in recent years and I'd hate for the Giro to go the same way.

Don't think so, the last year of Finestre was used only in 2005 and 2011, while Mortirolo is just such an historic climb, in the 2000's was used 5 times, 2004-2006-2008-2010-2012, almost every 2 years.
It is like the Angliru for the Vuelta or the Alpe d'Huez for the Tour, every GT has its "Queen Climb".

Notice Pinot and Bouhanni playing in the same position. Sounds about right |

Indeed. Shame Demare can't play versus Bouhanni, that'd be fun I reckon Coquard on the wing will be rather good too!
In other news, Gazetta (and logically speaking all) think Maxim will confess to doping on Monday or Tuesday. This allows Astana to race Tour of Almaty ( only pro Kazakh race ) and will mean they don't have to miss the season opener at Tour Down Under, since they will serve their suspension on the next WT race, being Tour of Bejing.

And the Vuelta needs to stop using the Angliru so often. Count is correct here that if you keep using these climbs that they lose some of the mystic that surrounds them, to put it simply they become mainstream and just another mountain. So many amazing climbs that the organises of the GT's should be introducing different climbs and using only one "Queen" climb a year

On the other hand I heard that there is an important cooperation between Kazakhstan and China, so they don't want to miss Beijing because of those publicity/political reasons and would rather try to postpone the B sample analysis so they will skip TDU.

Guess that means no Contador in the Tour of Beijing. Don't think he could have done much anyway. The one mountain stages that there is, doesn't look hard enough for him to drop Valverde.
I could easily see Valverde outsprint Contador and take the win xD |

With Valverde wheelsucking as he always does. Tho I can imagine a third rider that attacks with less than a km to go and none of them following him with the fear of losing. In the end: Valverde 2nd.

God, what a 3rd week Finestre awww
Another thing that I like is that Mortirolo and Finestre are always the penultimate climbs in their respective stages. That will encourage attacks by the favourites, such as Quintana one in Stelvio's stage
