Well, ask Silvio if he sees himself more as a climber or puncheur. and how he will develop in the future. May be good for the Database.

I assume we're talking about LBL here.
Either way, I'd love to try contacting Herklotz if there's interest (obviously I'll only send in my own questions ).
Now we're talking about his Amstel crash. Why that is more noteworthy than his others... IDK tbh?

Well if there is one crash that definitely prevented him from winning the race with a chance of > 50%, it was the LBL one.

Interesting idea
baseballlover312, 06-03-14 : "Nuke Moscow...Don't worry Russia, we've got plenty of love to go around your cities"
Sarah Palin, 08-03-14 (CPAC, on Russian aggression) : "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a nuke is a good guy with a nuke"
Big thanks to jdog for making this AMAZING userbar!

I wouldn't do Vino again though, not even for money.
If you got him again you could ask him "How long before you're the president of Kazakhstan...and how much longer until you have total world domination?". |

This is a really cool idea. Maybe you could do one with The Secret Pro? |

Actually, it was that memorable that almost 9 years later I still remember the phone number by heart. He must have changed it since then, but still.
The guy who gave it to me had interviewed Tony Rominger a few weeks before, and Rominger was his manager at the time.
As Vino was quite the star at the time the list of questions was rather long, the interview wasn't easy (first time it was his wife picking the phone, they were in a car), then he was in a train for most of the interview, but it cut in a tunnel or something so I tried to call back several times, but it'd cut again and I wouldn't hear much, so we had to continue the next day. He asked if it was much longer, etc. He didn't pay as much attention to his accent as he does for TV, so I wasn't always sure what he was saying, and all in all it wasn't that interesting.
The only new bit was he claimed his ear speaker was off in 2005 when after being dropped he came back, attacked, and basically ruined his team mate Ullrich GC ambitions down Luz Ardiden, or some story like that. It might well have been bullshit though.
Voeckler on the other hand was easy, when I first called he said 'ok but I'm busy now, I'll call you back later' and 1 hours later he called back and said 'hello, it's Thomas Voeckler', answered kindly and interestingly. Later in the year he saw the guy who ran PCM Spain in Madrid (last or penultimate Vuelta stage) and commented I was a nice guy. |

The PCM interview would have standard questions for all and just be a link they could click on and fill out the answers.
No phone calls and they could do it on their own time and at their own pace.
I would guess the offseason would be best for this. |

We need a standard list of about 12 to 15 questions they can pick from or answer all.
So far we just have the one about playing PCM.
We need some good ones. |

What does the rider consider his/her greatest personal success in cycling?
Does he/she fancy him/herself in another role in the sport of cycling after retiring from riding?

1. "What are you plans for future?"
2. "What's the goal you never achieved in your career and you had in plan?"
3. "Have you ever heard of PCMdaily?"
4. "What would you do if you were not in professional cycling?" (such as Rogers programming and stuff like that)
5. "What's your favourite race/classic?"
I'll come up with more tonight/in next couple of days.

Do you name your bikes like some name their cars?
How did you get into cycling?
Do you think cyclists get too little money, or do soccer players get too much?

1. What do you think the biggest problem with cycling is?
2. Who is your favorite rider?
3. What is the hardest race you've ever done?
4. What was your worst crash?
5. Who is the best rider you've raced with? |

Not that it's not good questions we've gotten so far, but I hope we're not going to ask more or less the same questions that you could find in any cycling magazine or website interview.
A few from me then : 'how much do you stick to the plan when you train, and how much is the product of your inspiration of the moment ?'
'How good a cycling mechanic are you ? Can you fix your bike on your own ?' |
