Okay, it's time for the second dilemma. The world populaties keeps on rising, an it looks like there won't be enough food to feed the entire world population. Feel free to discuss what to do.
Also, it would be nice to receive some more ideas for a new dilemma, as we can't do anything on our own.

no more food-production but less people to feed
edit: might not be the best possible solution, but I honestly believe we need to trim the world wide population

How? World War Three? Taking a Spartan angle and dropping babies off a ravine if too weak?

We learned in science it is likely the population will eventually stabilize at around 11 billion.

Question is, can Earth handle 11 billon people? Or humanity, for that matter.

A perfectly manageable number, provided we as a species get better control of how we produce food.
For example meat is incredibly space and energy inefficient. Animals need space and food and time to grow. For the same space, energy input and time we can grow just so much more food it boggles the mind. We can make up the protein through nuts and the like.
Meat can still be grown for consumption, but only as a specialty food. Or start eating other "meats" like bugs, insects. Basically Cows are not great for food security. Birds aren't too bad, sheep are not terrible either. Size makes the difference there.
Even now there is enough food to feed the worlds population. It just does not get equally spread. Too much goes to First world countries, and too little goes to Third world countries. It's well known but i don't see it changing for a while, if at all frankly.

Not a really brillant idea, but i often think, that overcoming the overpopulation problem, wich causes the food problem, is the solution. Some kind of virus, or just a great earht catastrophy, as in the 2012 movie, would probably do the trick
I think the cold war just woke from it's sleep with Russia invading Crimea, and I simply don't see it being cold forever. Somehow I've got the feeling, thats how we'll sort out in humanity. Eventually it will escalate, I believe.
When coming to just this topic, overcrowding, I'm pretty pessimistic, i think we just have to sort out in humanity, how it's done, I don't know, neither do i really care. I don't think it'll happen in my years, though een if it will, it won't bother me much. At least I like to think so
So that's pretty much how i think we should overcome this problem..

That part of your posts is so creepy and it honestly scares me a bit. How do you actually mean "trim the world wide population"?

What we do? Wouldn't matter; people would panic. If we ever get to a state where the world is overpopulated, the masses (especially in cities) will scramble for resources, causing rioting/fights. It wouldn't matter if you tried to lead them or not, they aren't comfortable, therefore will not follow/comply. The resources are so limited, that the rioting in the streets would close businesses, propagating further lack of food and beverage, leading to more rioting. This cycle would continue into anarchy, and also revolt to the government, which is declaring martial law. The new power shift forces people to triple or quad-lock their doors ion fear of the chaos outside, and few actually remain sane.
NOTE: This was modeled for the US.
Internationally, the lack of resources has stagnated global trade. As a result, global economy collapses, hitting literal zero numbers, and putting next to every major business/corporation IN THE WORLD out of business, or worse. Flareups begin for valuable water sources; lakes, rivers, even oceans, as filtering is already in place to make the water drinkable. At this point, society has already become even more dumbed down and sedated, causing poor decision-making, and, ultimately, leading to the preliminary battles of the next World War; a resource-hoarding battle in which those with the biggest arm will take over the rest. Civilizations like Italy, Germany, and Denmark cease to exist, falling victim to the slaughter by the powers. Then, the resource areas begin to fall. Already engulfed in hell, the Middle East is simultaneously attacked by everyone, in the hunt for easy oil. Millions die, and the resource amounts drop further to fuel the production and equipping of military. Much time later, roughly 15 years, nuclear tensions are again boiling. The Geneva Convention and those like it mean nothing anymore, as countries turn their backs on all of their allies in the name of the homeland. Civilians become mercenaries to feed their families, and the world is at an all-time low for natural resources. Greed and power drive the engines of "saving the world", and then, the story is too vague.
It may sound like a science-fiction, bullshit write up, but really, people will act like this. Some can't handle the fire alarm going off, what about when they are starving and another person breaks in to take your water? Bad jujuMcGumbo.

a plural at post? excellent
but yeah trim is a bad choice of word, I meant that the world population needs to be reduced by (in comparisonment) small amounts. that those small amounts would mean 10.000 people or even more ...
