Also quite surprised to see Avila being so less of interest.. This may actually be bad news for any top-sprinter participating, as 13 teams may lead to a breakaway succeding. I'm hoping for the right riders in the breakaway, so that the peloton will work well together to pull them
Thought that one was cobbled....
Barely. Sprinters should survive. At least the ones with 66 or above in cobbled at least.
Happy that I got both Vantomme for sprint and Vanbilsen for any selection or attacks here then. Not much after that though, Dunkerque is the big one.

Good that Ciolek has 60, so that question didn't even arise.

Well he could survive very likely, but it will take out of his final sprint for sure. Final sprint is on cobbles so that will a big disadvantage too. Last year De Maar beat Vantomme in final sprint rather easily for example.

Recon by analyzing 2013 results was sadly not possible due to time restraints, but Ciolek doesn't have enough race days to speculate on something better than 9th/13th or whatever the sprinters finished there last season anyway.
Or to say it in a different way, there are enough races where he more certainly will be competitive

I had a very good feeling this would happen to the Tour of America. Unfortunately, I couldn't risk bringing either of my top sprinters for fear they would finish outside of the time limit and thus waste race days, but with a smaller peloton I hope for a lot of breakaway chances, and Zaini can hopefully grab a stage win in American for a 2nd straight year.
Also great to see small peloton at the Tour du Faso too! Looked like a great opportunity to send my sprinters with most days being pan flat or nearly pan flat. Less competition is always great!

Vantomme, Cav, Ciolek, and that's few from top of my head so far

Interesting stuff SN. 21 stages of Tour of America was just too much for me, but in hindsight it might've been a good choice. For some reason I completely skipped over Duo Differdange, dunno how that happened.
Spoiler Probably because I was expecting to get a cobbler when I did the calendar.

Vantomme was told that he has to leave the team before. Motivation was obviously gone then.
Would have kicked De Maar`s ass otherwise. |
