Since when did Kelderman have more than 77 Mo/77 Hil? Pfft

Gesink has less in this database, I should've let Jesleyh make it Pfft
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Oh I see you mean Kelderman is better than Gesink? I thought you meant one of Kelderman/Gesink was better than Majka Pfft

I Thought Kelderman was MO/HI 75/75 in database?

Guys, problem. There are too many teams. Whenever I add a control team (just 1 rider) it gets rid of Orica when I go into the game. Any help?

Thanks Smile

can't you just increase the amount of teams able to race in the database?

How?

You can do it by using a game editor Wink

I would also avoid doing too many races in advance, so we can quickly solve a problem if it happens Smile

STA_Race_Rules should do it, or STA_UCI_class. Make sure 23 teams are allowed to participate, and add a control team of 2 riders max, and you should be done

Well, Kelderman has 75MO & HI in the normal DB, but due to the Season Break updates, he now has what he deserves, 77MO & HI Grin

Sta_Race_rules indeed, btw.

Angry For missing out on Brouwer.

The full startlist is in the first post, for Shonak and anyone else who wants to see it. I already made a preview (see post above). Will discuss the route in a bit.

So, should I do the Giro for sure then or do we wait to see if Cycleman can fix the issue?

Stages

We start the race with a short flat stage, most likely a sprinter will claim the first Maglia Rosa. But with a Team Time Trial the next day, it will be hard to keep it. Only 17km though, so no major differences expected yet. The next two stages are hilly enough to get rid of a few sprinters, followed by 2 flatter stages. One more hilly stage and then we are at stage 8, a long time trial of 55km. More hills the next day, after which we'll have our first rest day. The Giro is far from won, but I expect a few will have lost it already.

We'll see the first real mountains the next day and a hilly stage follows. Next are two flat stages, it is not too late for recovery, but everyone needs to be ready now. The stages 14 and 15 will be deciding, as these mountain stages will probably narrow down the contenders before the second rest day.

The third week is by far the hardest. Stages 16 and 17 will be hills again, they seem ideal for a breakaway. Next up is time trial that just keeps going up. Two more mountain stages will decide this year's Giro d'Italia, and finaly the surviving sprinters will get another chance in Brescia to conclude the race.

Stage 1: Napoli – Napoli
i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/s1_zpsef02c760.jpg

Napoli to Napoili, all around Napoli. A circuit race at the sea-side level with the Posillipo climb multiple times on the menu.

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/Team%20NetApp%20-%20Endura/Giro%202013/2014-04-1618_01_48-Greenshot_zpse17410d8.jpg

And so the Giro d’Italia starts under the WADA flag, which has clearly signaled the go-signal. Play true is the motto, and since the new UCI regime took over the world of cycling there hasn’t been any doping findings (yet?). Hopefully we don’t have to care about doping here for the next three weeks though.

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/Team%20NetApp%20-%20Endura/Giro%202013/2014-04-1618_04_11-Greenshot_zps682a7ddd.jpg

Only a two men break gets away at the start, Arndt (ARG) and O’Callaghan (BAR) form the duo. Dennis Vanendert (LTB) attacks later on and joins the duo.

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/Team%20NetApp%20-%20Endura/Giro%202013/2014-04-1618_08_47-Greenshot_zpsc85a1721.jpg

The three guys have a good thing going on and they constantly increase their lead. At around half-time, it is up to 6 minutes. The circuit with the many viewers certainly is favourable towards them so far. Meanwhile in the peloton, Maxim Belkov (KAT) was the first crash of this year’s Giro, however he can continue.

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/2014-04-1618_11_51-Greenshot_zpsa52cbd5a.jpg

Most of the chasing effort is surprisingly done by Movistar, and – entirely not surprising – Omega Pharma. While Omega Pharma clearly works for Manx Missile, Movistar may want to send a signal towards Sky and Astana. Ivan Gutierrez (MOV) falls during all the work at front of the peloton, but he quickly gets back up.

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/Team%20NetApp%20-%20Endura/Giro%202013/2014-04-1618_14_15-Greenshot_zpsa93ba108.jpg

O’Callaghan wins the first mountain sprint (cat 4) ahead of Vanendert and Arndt.

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/Team%20NetApp%20-%20Endura/Giro%202013/2014-04-1618_15_45-Greenshot_zps6a7f689e.jpg

At around 40 kilometers, the peloton stretches itself more and more. The pace is quite high, and the lead of the BOTD stumbled down to only 3 minutes. Orica GreenEdge does some damage certainly upfront.

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/Team%20NetApp%20-%20Endura/Giro%202013/2014-04-1618_18_42-Greenshot_zps5fec9dce.jpg

Fully aware that the one who may win here gets to wear the Maglia Azzura, Nikias Arndt wins the second mountain sprint. The jersey goes to O’Callaghan though, one point lead is enough for eternal, unimaginable honour of the Maglia Azzuara for a day.

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/Team%20NetApp%20-%20Endura/Giro%202013/2014-04-1618_20_38-Greenshot_zps900fb6f4.jpg

It’s the last lap and Orica GreenEdge forms an express train for Goss.

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/Team%20NetApp%20-%20Endura/Giro%202013/2014-04-1618_21_34-Greenshot_zps25ed1eec.jpg

I didn’t realize The Calzone is so big. Beastblood, he haz it! He moves up alongside many other sprinters, it’s getting interesting now! It’s only 10 kilometers left and the break still has roughly 50 seconds lead!

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/Team%20NetApp%20-%20Endura/Giro%202013/2014-04-1618_23_36-Greenshot_zps54ea5c2c.jpg

Kelderman and Gesink lead the peloton over the hill. It looked like the Belkin duo wanted to attack but it’s more likely they set up the train for Hofland. Albasini is wasted.

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/Team%20NetApp%20-%20Endura/Giro%202013/2014-04-1618_24_28-Greenshot_zps0a45cb4d.jpg

Paris – Roubaix winner Vanmarcke took over the charge and the break of the days gets caught there up front. Looks like Omega Pharma and Orica want to stay on the left, while Belkin has all the place in the world on the right. Cavendish is surprisingly far back!

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/Team%20NetApp%20-%20Endura/Giro%202013/2014-04-1618_26_05-Greenshot_zps8ea01db5.jpg

It’s 2.5 kilometers and the sprint is about to happen. Orica Green Edge lead out on the left side for Goss, Belkin on the right for Brouwer. Viviani is somehow alone on the right, while Hanzen and Stromberg are behind Goss. Calzone blocks Hofland’s wheel on Calzone’s wheel is Bennatti (Calzone’s very own archenemy from Tour of Turkey!). Further back, Petacchi tries his best to get Cavendish upfront and already starts the sprint.

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/Team%20NetApp%20-%20Endura/Giro%202013/2014-04-1618_28_24-Greenshot_zps6310e7a1.jpg

Goss launches like an arrow and just rushes ahead. Too early?

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/Team%20NetApp%20-%20Endura/Giro%202013/2014-04-1618_29_11-Greenshot_zps525e374e.jpg

It’s easily enough for the Australian. He takes the premier stage win for Orica on the first stage. Well, that may be a bit of compensation hopefully for their manager. Brouwer finishes second, Hanzen third.

"It’s a little bit scary when Contador attacks." - Tommy V

Bah, so close for Brouwer Pfft

Funny how the game lists Vanmarcke as my leader here Grin
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

nacho63
Great report, can't believe you were so quick, great victory for Goss, cycleman should feel better now! Mezgec you are shocking... I hope the game made Burton leader.

Wish my game looked like that Shock
