With renewals completed, there will be few changes to the team pre-transfers. Significantly, however, two long term riders have been released. These riders are Michael Albasini and Christophe Riblon. Both have been with the team since 2010 when the team was known as Wii Racing, and both have been invaluable domestiques throughout their time here. I'm sorry to see them go and I wish them the best in their careers.
Aside from these riders, all riders have been renewed.
Mirco Saggiorato will be returning to the team after a year in the CT through a loan deal with Sauber - Petronas, and Stefan Kung and
Gregory Hugentobler will leaving the team to return to Sauber - Petronas.
Here is the pre-transfers roster for 2015:
Country | Rider | Wage | | Andrei Amador | € 800,000.00 | | Vincenzo Nibali | € 700,000.00 | | Stefan Schumacher | € 410,000.00 | | Jose Goncalves | € 220,000.00 | | Mathias Frank | € 170,000.00 | | Mirco Saggiorato | € 140,000.00 | | Jonathan Fumeaux | € 135,000.00 | | Dominik Fuchs | € 60,000.00 | | Patrick Schelling | € 58,000.00 | | Ivan Santaromita | € 55,000.00 | | Dimitri Champion | € 50,000.00 | | Rafaâ Chtioui | € 50,000.00 | | Silvan Dillier | € 50,000.00 | | Thomas Frei | € 50,000.00 | | Sebastien Reichenbach | € 50,000.00 | | Florian Stalder | € 50,000.00 | | Johann Tschopp | € 50,000.00 | | Danilo Wyss | € 50,000.00 | | Simon Zahner | € 50,000.00 |
The Swiss core of the team will likely remain unchanged through the transfer season, but I will be taking offers Vincenzo Nibali and
Stefan Schumacher.
As a side note, the beginning of this thread has been updated for 2015 and will serve as the Team HQ for 2015.

Well, we were slightly interested in Chtioui last season, but this time around we are a lot more keen on getting him. Hopefully we can make a deal this transfer season.

As Dimitri Champion ages is there any chance he goes to the CT this year? |

Here is how our final roster will look for the 2015 season. As you can see, there have been significant improvements across the board as our young talents continue to progress and we have brought in new riders.

It has been a very quiet and disappointing year for us, with only a few notable results. However, today we obtained one of our biggest wins at our home race, the Tour de Suisse. Mathias Frank won the undulating stage into Schwarzenburg from a breakaway of 7 riders. Not only was this a much needed win in a dry season, but it also is very pleasing for our sponsors as Mathias is the current Swiss champion.
Mathias Frank wins the uphill sprint from a breakaway in stage 6 of the Tour de Suisse.
Our only other PT win this year comes from Gregory Hugentobler, our loaned in rider from Sauber. Gregory has had a huge year for us as he has been one of our most active riders, frequently appearing in breakaways and snatching a few top tens and even some podiums along the way. Most significantly, he won the KoM jersey in the Vuelta Ciclista al Pais Vasco.
Aside from that, we have not really done anything. We failed to put a rider on the podium in any stage of the Giro, and our GC leaders have failed to finish in the Top 5 of any race we have done. I am disappointed because I know our riders are better than this. We are very low in the rankings, and I am already beginning to make plans on who will be released as we are very likely to drop down into the continental tour next year.
With that said, the season is not yet over and I still have hope. Andrei Amador has a lot of pressure on his shoulders for the upcoming Tour de France, and hopefully Nibali and Schumacher can turn their seasons around in the latter part.

I'll start off by saying that I am extremely happy that this season is over. We experienced failure after failure in just about every single race throughout the year, and I'd really like to move on and forget that this year ever happened.
Since my last update prior to the Tour de France, we have not won a single race. Therefore, our entire win tally for the 2015 season is: 2.
One was a stage win from a breakaway. The other was a king of the mountains jersey by a rider who is loaned into our team, so I don't know if it even counts. We'll call it 1.5.
None of our team leaders took a single victory. Even worse, we had only one singular overall podium throughout all of the classics and stage races (albeit it was an important one: Andrei Amador 3rd in the Tour de France). I don't really know why. I think this year we had the strongest roster that we have ever had, and in the past our riders have shown that they can get great results. Who knows.
So yes, it was a very, very bad year and with that performance I can't complain about being demoted to the PCT. In fact, I'm looking forward to winning races once again, which is something that the team needs to re-learn how to do. Obviously, the team will have a reduced budget and will be expected to downsize quite a bit. I'll say right now that
Andrei Amador will lead the team next year without a doubt. But I can think of two riders that will not be riding for Swisscom in the future. I am a firm believer in the power of negative encouragement, so some of their grandest exploits are detailed below:
Rider | Race | Result | Stefan Schumacher | Deutschland Tour GC | 16th | Stefan Schumacher | Giro di Lombardia | 38th | Stefan Schumacher | Amstel Gold Race | 32nd | Stefan Schumacher | Tour of California GC | 16th | Stefan Schumacher | Vuelta al Pais Vasco GC | 16th | Stefan Schumacher | Milan - San Remo | 33rd | Stefan Schumacher | Paris - Nice GC | 19th | Stefan Schumacher | Badaling International | 30th | Vincenzo Nibali | Vuelta a Colombia GC | 15th | Vincenzo Nibali | Giro di Lombardia | 40th | Vincenzo Nibali | Giro di Italia GC | 13th |
To wrap it up, there will be more updates after worlds/nationals and throughout the off-season so stay tuned. Also, the first page has been updated with our scarce good results, so feel free to check that out if you want to feel better about yourself. Thanks for reading!

Yeah sad year Irl Amador is one of my favorite riders, so extra annoying not to have him to his best, but he will be a monster in PCT and I think just with him you're closer than any to promoting back to PT!
Schumacher is getting old and Nibali lack Acceleration to actually pose a thread and considering PT climbers do tend to attack a lot, he might find a new home in PCT, but understandable not on your team
Good luck next season and cheer up, I think PCT could be a fun scenario for your team

I agree, Nibali's poor acceleration was much more of a factor this year than it has been in the past. It will be interesting to see how the new PCM handles it, I don't have enough experience with the game to know. My guess is that it will become much less of a factor once he has left my team
As for the PCT, in some ways I'm looking forward to it. It's something new, and it will be nice to win races once again (hopefully).
Congratulations to yourself on promoting! I'm sure we'll be butting heads often in the future.

It will be nice to see Reichenbach as a team leader. He has the potential to do really well in the PCT, and then he will be training eligeble when you promote, and then there will yet again be a swiss rider with a top 10 potential
Also Dillier, Saggiorato, Kung and Frank will reach a competition more in their level, so we should see some decent swiss performances.
I am also looking forward to see Schelling. He should be a good top domestique in the league, and could be a top 15GC rider when you promote again.
Some interesting things are happening in swiss cycling in the coming years.
Jose Concalves and Andrei Amador will be a big hit in the division, but I will be interested in seeing how you will overcome the "loss" of Schumacher and Nibali. According to stats those should be important, and they aren't all that expensive, so it is difficult to see where you should find big cash to get something great in without letting go of some of those expensive domestiques like Ivars, Frank, Fumeaux and Saggiorato - But I guess you can hope for significantly lower wages for those.

@SotD, I hope you are right about Kung reaching a competition more to his level seeing as he will be leading my Sauber team in the CT next year, he was only on loan to Swisscom to max out like Hugentobler, he isn't actually owned by them
@Bushwackers, it's a shame to see your team go down but unfortunately Schumacher and Nibali just didn't race anything like how they did in previous years and didn't score you enough points. A SotD said it will be nice seeing Reichenbach lead and I can't wait to see how strong he'll end up through training once eligible. You'll probably need to drop Amador's wage to be able to bring in other strong leaders though, I look forward to seeing who you target to fill that role for you and hopefully seeing Dillier challenging well in the TT's.
Will Schelling now need a loan to max out or have you left him at a point where you can do it with wildcards? he definitely seems the biggest Swiss climbing talent in the DB at the moment even if he is maxing out a little older than most.
Speaking of Maxing out I want to thank you for the great work that you've done with Hugentobler and Kung the last 2 years for me getting them both to max out this season ready to return to me and lead us in what we hope will be only a brief stay back in the CT.
Hopefully you can find a way to bounce straight back up next season and we won't find you still in the PCT when we promote back there ourselves.

That wall of shame is fucking brutal, I like it!
Shame to see your team go down like that, I think it's safe to say no one expected it. However I have to say I'm not at all looking forward to facing you in the PCT, the prospect of doing battle with someone who podiumed the TdF is quite simply scary.

Tough season for Swisscom indeed, as others do, i suspect Nibali and Schumacher being a main cause for that, with pretty high wages and not many points in return. But at least you can rebuild around the Swiss guys and be back soon, good luck for that Bushwackers!

SotD: I too am excited to see Reichenbach this year. Maybe its better to be in the PCT, because he would still be useless in the PT until I could train him. I guess all around this is a good opportunity for my riders because there are a lot of good Swiss riders, but none of them are top class, so maybe now they will finally be able to get some results.
As for Schumacher/Nibali departing, I'm thinking I'll be left needing a hills leader and a second tier stage race leader. No idea how I'll be able to pull those in, but with them gone it will shave off 1.1 million, plus I expect at least 100-200k more...
Yeah I don't know how I'm going to do this
Sammy: Thanks, if there is any money floating around I'm going to put it into Dillier so hopefully he will be able to get some results at this level. I think there's a little room to maneuver with Amador's wage, considering he didn't do anything spectacular this year. Hopefully his TdF 3rd place doesn't inflate his wage much.
I can get Schelling up with a wildcard at this point. It's a real bummer because he should be maxing out currently, but a while ago his training was mismanaged on a loan and that set him back a year. And thank you for the Kung/Hugentobler deals as well! They were great on Swisscom, both of them were some of our most heavily featured riders in breakaways and you can see Hugentobler took one of our best results of the year.
I was sad to see Sauber relegate too, but I think those 2 riders should be very strong for you in the CT. I hope we both can promote.
Dippo: Thanks! But don't overestimate my team's ability to drastically underperform. I wouldn't be too scared
Avin: Yes, it will be nice to see my Swiss riders take on a more central role. Thank you!

You might be able to trade Nibali off for a good hilly rider.

Here's the first post of the year. With things beginning to heat up in the Man Game, I thought I would give an update, and I have a few things to present and announce. First off, the team will be relegating to the Pro Continental Tour and as a consequence our telecommunications sponsor Swisscom has decided to withdraw their sponsorship of our project. UBS, a long term partner for the past 5 years, will go into their 6th year of sponsorship as the sole title sponsor.
We will also see continuing sponsorship from Giro, Assos, DT Swiss, and BMC.
With that said, I can proudly present our jerseys including our national champions for the 2016 season:
(I guess I can't be proud since I didn't make it, but I am utterly and absolutely thrilled by the_hoyle's work on this one!!)
- Andrei Amador - Costa Rica TT
- Alexandr Braico - Moldova RR/TT
- Rafaâ Chtioui - Tunisia TT
I think I'm in love!
Next post will be about transfers and renewals.
