Looking at your discussion, I'm afraid that just one mistake/fall from Sicard will be catastrophic for ING. Seeing your bid on Fiedler I was sure you wouldn't go over my last bid on Sicard (as you would then have to sell Roche or Fiedler, never thought you would risk selling Roche this season). Will be interesting to see how you do, TDF should be critical for you, and you will most likely have to battle Phinney, Madrazo, Schleck, Taramaae, Spilak, Amador, Machado ++++ Will be really interesting as Sicard should lead after the TTT and then it is up to everyone else to attack when the mountains come.

ING - 2014 Key Races: Paris Nice - Preview
After a acceptable start to 2014 has the attention of ING - Pro Cycling Team turned over to France, where we'll unleash our biggest star Romain Sicard for his debut for the team.
We have huge hopes and the team that is sent to "The race to the sun" has obviously been build around our French superstar.
Stage 1 features a team timetrial, and it's here that we believe the road to sucess lies in this key race for ING and it's many french supporters. With Fiedler, Zabriskie, Rolland and many others will we go for not only the victory on the opening day but also to give Sicard as big a gap to his nearest rivals. The race is full of tough climbs, quite unlike what we have seen in the past, and therefore should it be a great indicator of what is to come.
Stage 3 and 4 can the race not be won but lost, while the following two stages both ends with a tough ascent while the final mountain timetrial which includes the famous col d'eze will surely make a intriguing race.
Sicard is confident though that he has what it takes to take the win, and secure ING some much needed points in what seems to be a very close battle for avoiding relegation - Already this early in the season.

Happy to hear that you liked it. Let's see if the next key-race for us will have a longer review or not

The road to the Tour de France
It has quite simple been a season to forget so far. Many pundits questioned Rycadinhos decisions during the off-season and even though he keeps assuring the sponsors that results will come, then the situation does look dire indeed. Not a single win has been secured and there has surprisingly enough not been many ING riders in the breakaways despite this being clearly the best way for the team to get anything out of the races.
Everything is not lost yet and it's well known that Rycadinho was ready to sacrifice a year for building a new team up and the acquisition of the likes of Fiedler, Sicard and Rolland compared to the aging Marchante, Castano and Roche does indeed confirm that approach. Fiedler and Sicard are still very much in the mix and a strong performance in ING's biggest goal of the year, the Tour de France could save the teams future since ING do have a clause that makes it possible for them to opt out of the sponsorship of the team.
Dauphine Libere will be the first big test for Sicard after Paris Nice was deemed as a "failure" by the manager and though he isn't a clear favorite then the locals will hopefully give him a boost so that he can finally get ING going in what has so far been a season to forget. The timetrial machine that so many are anxious to see being released could also give Sicard the mailot jaune in the Tour and that's why Fiedler, Zabriskie and other specialist will be interesting to follow in the pre-building towards the Tour.
The Vuelta is currently underway and a stage win is all ING can possible hope for after sending yet another mediocre squad to race.

Down but surely not out of it yet, it's a bad position to be in but IF Sicard could win the tour he could realistically save the team from relegation.
It would be interesting if he doesn't what will happen to him though. |

I really doubt rycadinho paid 1.4M from budget just to sell him out after one season even if he relegates

In PCT though he will still be one hugely paid rider. Doubt that he is accepting far less. |

I can already assure you all that he will stay put though Roturn is right - I also doubt that he'll be that much cheaper, but time will tell!
It was a huge gamble for sure, but if everything goes according to my top-secret-brilliant plan then it'll be worth it

A Tribute to Captain America
Finally! It's been a long season, one mostly to forget and it seems more than certain already that the team will return to PCT after a tough year in the finest company in cycling. The team was build for one purpose, to give French star Sicard the best possible team in the Tour de Frances team time trial and therefore a gap to some of the best GC riders in the world. That mission was a success, as some of you may already know but none could predict the utter turnaround at the long ITT of the race.
Dave Z demonstrating why age is only a number
I don't know how but good old Zabriskie somehow managed to beat just about the very best timetrialers in the sport in a long and very tough course. One thing is to beat Fiedler, his stronger teammate but to also dispatch Coppel and Phinney is just amazing in a discipline that lacks surprises. Most important was that his victory is the very first stage win for a individual rider in my time as manager for this team, not just in the protour - but also in a GC! That it happened after 3½ seasons and in the biggest race of them all makes up for the long wait and I hope the team will continue to fight since we also have a huge target in Rotterdam.
For now will I cherish Zabriskies victory and who knows if it can inspire a certain French rider to showcase why I ended up making him the most expensive rider in the history of the game.

Great to see Zabriskie taking a Tour-stage exactly on the same day, where Rogers takes the Isle of Man crown! Those oldies still had something left in the tank, which is great for your team. Looking forward to race against The Big Z and your squad in the Copenhagen TTT then

Congrats on the start to the TDF. At least allows you to take something from the PT season.

Say what? Are you saying you think your team has never had a MG stage win before?

Oh my mistake - Of course if we look at Grand Tours only!
And yes indeed, I guess a bit of naivety and a long love for timetrialing pretty much decided the outcome for this year!

Yeah and I really hope that it'll be quite a spectacle! It's awesome that surprises like this can happen in perhaps the most "easiest" part to predict the outcome of races in, timetrialing.

Well it's a bit of exaggeration to say first GT win in 3 and a half years, when this is only your first season in the PT
