Transfer Period Update

After about 30 Hours of Transfer Period the plan of Euskaltel-Bavaria is going decently well. We will need to control the riders wages if we are to be under budget but we are slowly on our way to forming a team.
More updates on the happenings coming later in the Transfer Period.

Wow, big flurry of climbers you have signed. None of them is exactly the division's best, but they should all rack up consistent result in mountainous stage races. Good work! Smile

Some very nice climbers there. Especially useful for that wage.

The New Signings

As the Transfer Period comes to an end for the Euskaltel-Bavaria Team we can now announce 12 signings that have happened during the frenzy.

Delio Fernandez (Free Agent)- For a wage of 200,000 some may say I have over payed for him but at age 28 and with his very strong all round stats we were happy to pay a bit more.

Amaël Moinard (Joined from Simply Red Bull)- The strong all round stage racer should bring in a few points to the team and be a very nice domestique in Climbing stages.

Julian David Arredondo (Free Agent)- The 26 year old Colombian Climber should be a strong domestique for the team.

Juan Sebastian Tamayo Martinez (Joined from Compal Merida)- The Colombian should again be a strong domestique for Mountainous Races.

Rafael Infantino (Free Agent)- Another strong Colombian Climber who should be a great domestique for the team's leaders.

Vassilis Adamou (Joined from Compal-Merida)- The Cyprus RR Champ can climb and time trial and should be a valuable domestique for the team.

Ruben Fernandez (Free Agent)- A good climber who will be a domestique for Mountainous stage races.

Sammy Sanchez (Free Agent)- The icon of Spanish Cycling and of Euskaltel-Euskadi we could not resist the chance. He will stay with the team till he retires. For now he will be a decent domestique.

Hugo Sabido (Free Agent)- Nice Portuguese domestique who can sprint and will be part of the hilly lead out train for Fernandez.

Carlos Verona (Orbea Loan)- A Spanish time trialist, will help in flat races.

Juan Jose Lobato (Free Agent)- I could not resist signing him, his 73 SPR/ACC wont bring much but he may help lead out Fernandez and could bring a few points here and there.

Haritz Orbe (Free Agent)- Not a climber but he is the strongest cobbler in the team. Will look to develop him for the years to come.

This leaves the team with 16 riders. The only rider I may be transferring in is Denis Menchov but apart from that Euskaltel-Bavaria is finished with transfers.

The Transfer Period for Euskaltel-Bavaria is over after the signing of Denis Menchov, for free from FCB-Polska, has been completed.
17 Riders.
13 with 72+ MO.
Full squad (excluding Menchov) in the first post.

Guess you don't like flat roads much. Really like your team however.

That is our calendar for the 2014 Man Game Season. We will be in two HC Stage Races, 1 C1 Stage Race and 1 C1 Classic. Other than these all races are C2 or C2HC. We believe this is a good calendar for the team and it has worked well with planning.

February Preview

After a month of watching our competition our season finally begins in the middle of January with the Vuelta a Mallorca in Spain. The other race this month is the Tour of the Middle East in the UAE.

Vuelta a Mallorca

Race Profile
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/vuelta_a_mallorca.jpg

Team:
-Delio Fernandez
-Edwin Parra Bustamante
-Moises Dueñas
-Julian David Arredondo
-Rafael Infantino
-Denis Menchov
-Francisco Colorado

The 4 stage stage race is our season opener. It is C1 but we are not bothered by this, even though the competition will be tough but that is to be expected at all races. Our sole reason of participating in this race is because it is in Spain.

Aims:
-Be very involved in breakaways.
-A stage win, or at least a podium.
-A Top 5 in the GC, at the very least top 10.

Tour of the Middle East

Race Profile

Team:
-Delio Fernandez
-Arnold Jeannesson
-Amaël Moinard
-Edwin Parra Bustamante
-Ruben Fernandez
-Vassilis Adamou
-Hugo Sabido

The 12 stage Tour in United Arab Emirates will definitely be one to watch. We are sending a very strong squad here and are hoping to get results out of it. The race is C2 but there will be PCT teams and the best of the CT climbers going for the win here. A stage win or two and a good GC placing are definitely wanted here.

Aims:
-Top 5 GC, if not better.
-Win Stage 12
-2 Stage wins.

Rounding it up we are expecting a good showing from the team in there first races together. We shall see if all their hard work will pay off and after this month I will be able to see how successful this season will be.

Some very lofty expectations, especially for the C1 Vuelta a Mallorca. You may be in for a rude awakening. Good luck though. Wink

I look forward to racing against former CSC-Orbea riders Edwin Parra Bustamante, Moises Dueñas, and Francisco Colorado. Smile

I know I am hoping for a lot but there's no point aiming low Grin

Alakagom
Looking forward to see Euskaltel jersey back in the peleton. Middle East should be a good race with your climbing orientated team, Mallorca will be difficult but if you get right riders in break in stage 3 especially decent result could be possible.
