Mollema & Ten Dam aren't even mentioned
Btw, Mollema is good on the TT bike as well ![Wink](../images/smiley/wink.gif)
I'm still writing , a bunch of people are getting a mention once I finish. I took a break to write the stage preview to change things up for a moment. |

That was totally longer then I expected it was going to be when I first started, but it is finally done! Now I can do the same again for the other jerseys . Well hopefully the rest aren't quite that long, I know La Vuelta seems like it could be quite open but that would be extreme. |

I think Basso will have a quiet but decent race, moving up many places in the GC on the final mountain stages. He's not likely to be as tired as the likes of TenDam, Mollema, Kreuziger etc... and I think he finished top 5 on the main mountain stage at the Vuelta a Burgos recently (?) ... maybe 6th-8th in GC is possible for him. |

Well, yup.
And yes, I might be annoying as hell sometimes ![Pfft](../images/smiley/pfft.gif)
I'm just a fan, okay.
But come on, honestly, do you think Basso can do better than both Ten Dam & Mollema?
Basso had his best time, it's about over now.
Top 10 if lucky.

Those words are going down your throat. No way Mollema and Ten Dam to finish top 10, 3rd wekk they're going down. And in the Angliru, you'll see. ![Cool](../images/smiley/cool.gif) |

Don't think so. Basso is not a worse rider than Mollema or Ten Dam. He's not as great as he once was but he's still very good. Plus Basso literally never entered a GT where he had to lead in bad form. He was always in the contention. He once fucked up in 2005 when he took a bad bag.
He also had a much better preparation.

Allright.
I rather make a risky statement than saying nothing or going on a pointless discussion now, so here you go.
The best Belkin GC guy will be placed higher than Basso in the end.
There you have it, do with it what you want.
But indeed, I wonder how fresh those guys still are.
And yes, Basso is prepared well. But I'd rather go for a stage-win, if I was him.

Who are Mollema & Ten Dam? One was almost considered a bust not too long ago and second is a 32 year old career-domestique who had one quite good week in a GT. As mentioned by other people fact that Basso ain't the same doesn't mean that he isn't better than most. |

Mollema wasn't really considered a bust. But well, if you say so, who am I to discuss that.
Well, Basso isn't great anymore, but had a good preperation.
As said, I can see him getting a Top 10, but not much more. You are so enthusiastic about him, what do you think he's going to get, a podium spot?

Around fifth place. Can't see Mollema or Ten Dam even getting close to that.
And they did Good tour + Crits + now a good Vuelta? Don't remember anyone but Sastre who did tour+crits and did good in the Vuelta

Top 10. But it wasn't me but you who painted that picture in which Mollema and Ten Dam are far betters riders than Basso. |

@Spilak Allright, you have a point there.
But again, I don't think Ten Dam or Mollema will finish convincingly in the Top 5, so depends what you call a good Vuelta.
@I_Mayo
Mollema is far better yeah. Ten Dam is just a bit better. But Basso has better form.
But I didn't predict either of them in the Top 5 in the Vuelta predictions thread, so I'm not sure what you mean, I don't think they win the Vuelta or so. And I didn't say there will be 8 places between them in the end or so, I just said better.

It'd have been interesting to have a map of the TT (or of TT in general).
The more curvy they are, the less they favour actual TT specialists (and favour punchers instead), as it could be seen at the Eneco Tour with Chavanel beating Wiggins. |

Will miss this first week due to being away... well, I just hope the big decisions won't start so early. And I have a feeling the win might go to a Colombian, since this is such an unpredictable race. ![Pfft](../images/smiley/pfft.gif) |

Don't get me wrong, Malkael, you do awesome reports, but how many times did you use the word "Whilst" ?
baseballlover312, 06-03-14 : "Nuke Moscow...Don't worry Russia, we've got plenty of love to go around your cities"
Sarah Palin, 08-03-14 (CPAC, on Russian aggression) : "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a nuke is a good guy with a nuke"
Big thanks to jdog for making this AMAZING userbar!
