"I love him, I think he's great. He's transformed the sport in so many ways. Every person in cycling has benefitted from Lance Armstrong, perhaps not financially but in some sense" - Bradley Wiggins on Lance Armstrong
The event general for Bislett Games, former highjumper Steinar Hoen, has said he will still welcome Powell back to Bislett, a statement that has been met with much critisicm from, among others, Mads Kaggestad.
There's a fine line between "psychotherapist" and "psycho the rapist"

It might be that they suddenly turned the screw? When they finally got to testing runners training in the Rift Valley a flurry of athletes tested positive, apperantly.
I'm starting to mentally prepare myself for a positive test from the big man himself...
Some time ago, there was some article that athletes in Jamaica (and other small places) aren't really tested that much. Probably somebody made a right move and increased the controls.

It's a real pity, he's one of the athletes I enjoy watching
Pity... One of my favourite athletes (who is not a sprinter )
It helps that he is an Irish Rugby Fan (He supports Munster Rugby)

Bolt in 9.85 in the sainsbury meet tonight... CLM (or Christophe leMaitre) with a desastrous 100m... Didnt even get out of blocks in the race...
Carter under 10, could be looking at the final with Blake & Gay being absent... Outside chance for a medal (keeping in mind he was rumored to have tested positive too...)
By the way, i dont know if anyone of you knows, or even cares, but Kim Collins won't go to the WC as Saint Kitts kicked him out of the national team for leaving the olympic village to spend a day with his family...
Yes, Lemaitre is not the same as last year or two years ago, but he did run also 200m a bit before the 100m so not easy to be great in both at the same night.

Fun to see a middle distance race without any East Africans (except one) so there was actually some excitement as to who would win
(didn't help with 99% of the field being either American or British).
Yeah, the 800 was a great race! My friend, Mark English came sixth with a PB and the A standard for Moscow... and he is only 20!

Thats no excuse for a reaction time of 0.204... A Diamondleague standard sprinter should do better, regardless if he has raced before... Dropping off a bit in the latter stages of the race cause you are "tired" is acceptable, but not getting out of blocks is just a sign that he wasnt concentrated on the start. In a sprint that should be the only thing on his mind. I know what I am talking about, cause I am a sprinter (100/200/sometimes 400)... And the reaction time CLM had yesterday was about the same that I had today, and I am a good bit below LeMaitre...
News on the Tyson Gay Front:
His B-Sample was positive and apparently he failed another doping test at a competition in June... Guess he wont be running till 2016 anymore...

So the WC is near, i am looking forward to that, despite doping ruining the sport as it is in cycling.
Btw. anybody here remembers czech runner Kratochvilova, who still holds the insane world record on 800metres and 2nd best time at 400metres?I saw the document few days ago, she actually really looked like man. How many testosteron had to be in her body is beyond me.
Biggest czech chances for a medal in Moscow are 400metres runner Hejnova and javelin thrower Vesely, these two should battle for gold.
I saw documentary about the history of the WC's Records or so, where your woman was mentioned... Boy, I bet in the offseason she had more facial hair than be, cause she stopped shaving...
As for the czech chances: Hejnova is your safest bet by far. World Leading this year and she declassed everyone in both Ostrava and in London this year (didnt see any of her ther races...)
Anywho... Anyone interested in doing some predictions for the events?
Soo.. Day one is over, with Bolt being quite Bold in his 100 heat... Someone who also struck me as very much ready for the finl is Jimmy Vicaut. His heat looked effort less. Id say France will be medalling in this years WC again (after CLM's bonce mdeal in Daegu over 100)... Also interesting to see that both Gatlin and Rogers pushed themselves under 10 seconds (9.99 and 9.98 respectively) as if they had something to prove. Also Gatlin looked a lot less calm than Bolt, Vicaut and even CLM, who once again had a horrible start (!). Maybe a sign that he wont be beating Bolt this time around? Dont know, maybe we'll have Rodgers on the podium nexxt to Bolt and Vicaut?
Also sad to see that Germany's top Sprinter Julian Reus was kicked out in the first round... He had a superb Start though. Maybe he can give CLM a few pointers and the french man can take Gold... Who knows?
Today were the 400 heats. Delighted to say that Brian Gregan (who humiliated me on the track more than once) will be in the semi's in the 4, with an outside chance on the Final! Go Brian
