I had to search for a league that gives us an opportunity to advance but also a great chance to compete.
I figured out of 5 stars we would be somewhere around a 2.5, which is decent for an amateur league. If this team were a UCI Top Tour team, I would give us 0.5 stars. It's just different, and that's okay for now.
I found 3 leagues to decide from:
Future Cyclists of America Association - The league consists of 14 teams, all of which are at least 3 stars.
Team must tryout, entry fee $500 per rider per season
United States Amateur Cycling League - The league consists of 20 teams, with teams ranging from 1-4 stars present,
Team may sign up, must have 15 riders, $4000 a year per team
Amateur Cycling Federation - The league currently has 7 teams, is still a work in progress, and rewards teams in money. Teams currently are 3 stars or below.
Everyone accepted, $200 a rider per season
Decisions, Decisions... I need to figure out a league to enter, and I only have a week left to decide. The racing don't get underway for 2 months, but these guys are anxiously awaiting news and schedules for the upcoming year..
I will have a talk with the riders and friends, I just need to figure out, which league is best for us?

The time was coming, I needed to make a selection, and fast. Leagues were filling up, there were others just like me looking for that chance.
After talking with friends, family, team members, strangers on the street, I was able to come up with a conclusion.
We can t be in a league that ONLY rewards money, and we can't compete with the best yet, at least I don't think so.
United States Amateur Cycling League
This league is host to some of the finest upcoming promotions in cycling. Team Target is the best team in this league, winning the overall title 2 years in a row, and this year was the first year the winning team got a chance to promote themselves.
Mobistar was the worst team, at only 1 star, 18 random guys who cycle as a hobby, and likely won't advance.
I figured we would rank somewhere between 8-10 out of 21. That is good for now. I am hoping that we can finish in the top 5 this year, and then next year go for the win, and advance.
Today, I am laying out a 3 year blueprint. This year I want to finish top 5, next year I want to win, the following year I want to compete overseas in a better league, maybe even a continental invitation.
Here is the list of teams, there star rating, and their top 3 riders:
What's the next step, well, I want to get a schedule lined up soon. There are over 60 united states cycling events throughout the year, the longest being 11 stages. I don't remember the name of that race, but its the biggest one of the season, The Tour de France of the USACL.
I will now seek to enter events, all around the country, and then figure out which riders will ride which events, it is going to take a while for me to get used to all of them, so our success may not come until late in the season. Lets just hope Roosevelt & Adam are willing to help and make this team what I hope it can be in the very near future!

I can assure all of you, that I have changed EVERY RIDERS name, so although it seems like they are current riders, none of them are the same names as an actual database contained.
Also, the sponsors don't exactly have to be American, just the riders

Okay guys, with another update, I think I have FIXED the database, as I have successfully got the career to start!! We will go on
Setting up Goals
Hey guys, I have just got back with getting our schedule set up, and I got some good news early! For the first year, every team will be eligible for the "the Tour de France" of the USACL. The United States Cycling Championships is what its called, I think!
Anyways, one of our top 3 goals of the season is actually the first race of the season! In Louisiana, they have an annual Mardi Gras celebration, people get crazy, drink beer, get naked, and wear beads all over themselves. You probably think that I am crazy, but I am being honest. This year it is the season opener and the first time they have ever hosted a cycling event. It will be a 6 stage race over Louisiana. Ending on "Fat Tuesday" the big celebration day.
The goal is for a Top 5 finish. I hope Roosevelt can do it, as we also found out he is ranked 5th in the whole league in sprinting. The loacl race in Hershey, is a goal where we would like a Top 3.
There was some bad news today, as we found out rider Willie Guzman came down with the Flu. It's January 2nd, so you can expect riders to get ill.
I suppose the boys will keep training, as I am pretty much officially hired to become the manager of this squad. I am very excited to get the finishing touches, officially announce our first races ever, and who will compete in them. I am still getting a feel for the squad before I make a final decision who rides where, but let me tell you, I am overly surprised how many cycling events are held in the United States each year!
Well, I better get going now, these other teams think we are overrated at #8 in the preseason polls, which I will post tomorrow. This points system is unique, and I will explain later!

This seems very strange to me. Why are people getting naked for Mardi Gras. I've heard of a lot of Mardi Gras customs, but not stripping.
Any chance to get naked publicly will do for some people
