I daresay I am shocked.
No wait I'm not. Called it at the Tirreno already. Santa with his fat face full of EPO. Nobody could've believed it |

The only thing I'm surprised at is that he took EPO and not something else. How could anyone be so stupid, EPO is kinda the most detectable drug now. |

But yeah not that surprising from Santambrogio. What is good to see though is that it was so damn obvious what he was doing that it gives me some faith in the rest of the peloton.

Disappointed in Santambrogio, I wanted to believe he was riding clean, but in the back of my head I just knew it was too good to be true

Sorry, tasta, but I have to do this

Cycling fans are judging riders way too fast, sometimes. Santambrogio is in great shape in his home race. Cadel Evans is just doing this as a preperation, but he is still second in the GC. The level isn't sky-high.. Santambrogio has developed quite a bit since last year, but at the same time he has developed generally the last years. He didn't have any great results either when he "doped" in Lampre either..
Riders who dope are often in very great shape in short periods of the season. Santambrogio has had a good season from San Luis to the Giro and he hasn't overperformed here either. He won a stage, but has most of the time just followed the others. No wild climbing up the steepest hills as Sella.
Santambrogio is probably just a 'late bloomer'.

Now in tastafols defense I can understand when you don't want to see it, you won't see it.
I had the same problem with Thomas Dekker. I just didn't want to see what was obvious to everyone. |

Ahah that made me laugh. Screw the lab test, let's scan the riders' faces instead
Anyway I don't get why everyone thinks Santambrogio has gone wrong here. I know a guy who started an era of cycling domination right after testing positive at the 1st stage of a Grand Tour

Well, not really news, but I heard something about Europcar stopping as a sponsor, does anybody have reliable information about this?
the contract end after this season but I did not read that they did not want to renew.
The team manager want a bigger budget for next year and Europcar can't afford a bigger amount of money spent in cycling.
For the moment Jean René Bernaudeau is looking for a co-sponsor or either a bigger sponsor with a bigger budget
If you can read french:
about the budget
about the contract |

Well, since there is a Sky Doping thread, why not a Vini Fantini doping thread?

Yep, it's already the second rider in a few weeks who is caught. But these two were expected.

Cause there is no one defending Santambrogio and Di Luca...

Because it wont be needed, as no one is claiming that Santa or Vini Fantini are clean. That's the reason the Sky one was created.
EDIT: Spilak was faster

And those guys give Italy a bad name once again
For me, Nibali is the symbol of the new, clean Italy! (oh I really hope this comment won't be quoted in 2 weeks because he had been caught doping ) |

Nibali, riding for the squeaky clean team of Astana, managed by the ever so clean mr. Vinokourov. Both team & manager never had any incidents... I trust them completely!
Or not |

And this, in short is why
A. I'm laughing at those people who insisted over and over that you couldn't judge santambrogio on performance variation alone
B: I spent the Giro saying "2 more months". I was wrong, it only took a week and a half
Santambrogio is like Sky: so goddamn obvious that only a fanboy would deny it. Whenever it's been this obvious, there has ALWAYS been drugs involved in the end. Always.

Oh right
Still, no overwhelming evidence about Nibali so far. I'm no expert but he seems fairly consistent and building up over the years, no? |

In Sky's defense, i doubt they are using EPO
