With these sort of races it is irrelevant whether it is HC or C1, if you have a strong climber in the CTour your only question is whether or not the competition would be tough here.
Bottom line though at 3 race days most people would take the punt. Of course for some it will likely prove a waste of race days.
It'll be interesting to see where the decisive moments will be here. I think either Dekker or Taaramae for the win, very evenly matched riders so any sort of time bonuses could be vital.

That was underwhelming. Good to see Kastrantas in white though |

Huge fail by the favourites here. Not only allowing dangerous 2nd tier riders to stay away but also not chasing hard enough to get rid of lots of riders.
Once again a pretty horrible mountain top finish... |

Nice one by Lloyd on a rather quiet day.
Guess we will see the big guns taking control from second stage on. Seems like those 4-6% averaged slopes lead to less selection, even if it's a long climb. Good for me here, but i'm sure things will change now.

Yeah the old pcm scrambled logic strikes again.
Dekker looks like he did sod all, Taaramae's move had little impact. What a coup this could be for ING.

stupid AI letdown, to let sub-par domestiques set the tempo in the pack and this dangerous 2nd tier strong riders finish with such a gap. Two brutal stages should make up for it, but i am already worried about t he outcome.

When I signed up for this, I did not expect it to be this popular... If I get any points at all, I'll say better than expected.

Kastrantas in the U25 lead! That's a new high for greek cycling - Next season Tzortzakis will put Greece on the world map of cycling with a sprint win in the PT - And THEN! Festina-Canal+ will show just what greek riders are made of!
Primarily Rhaki and goatcheese, but...

Few race days, many mountains. I'm not sure where you got that idea from.
Very disturbing to see 2nd tier climbers gaining time while Caruso decided to stay with the favourites. Will be even harder to get any notable points out of this race with Castano, Anton, etc also ahead of him now...

Not the most interesting stage but hopefully it will get better from here c
Thanks for the report regardless, it made it much more tense.

While it's again good for my team so have such a large group finish within same time, it's a shame for the spectators. Of course the 3rd day will decide the race (now).
Not sure what to expect from Lloyd. Would be nice if he and maybe Lewis can hold on to Top-20. Can't really say how the gaps will look like in the MTT, but I guess they will be huge, so anything can happen.

At least Serpa tried. Hope mountain matters more than TT, as then he has a better chance of a top 10. |

60+ riders in one group on a mountain seems legit
At least Dekker took bonus seconds, he has to be the favorite for the GC now with the TT to come.
