Santos Tour Down Under 2013 17.1 - 22.1
Stage 1 went down to a mass sprint, unsuprisingly, and Blanco's Mark Renshaw came out in first place ahead of Andrew Fenn and Leigh Howard.
Stage 2 also came down in a sprint and Mark Renshaw won again, showing he's got the speed to win himself, after formerly being a lead-out man. Oss and Lander finish the podium for BMC.
Stage 3 the hills were used to the advantage of Westra who broke away with Rohan Dennis and won the stage, putting himself in the overall lead.
Stage 4 came down to another mass sprint and Mark Renshaw again won, proving he's come in great form for this race. Oss and Mondory round out the podium.
Stage 5 was a day for the breakaway, and Gregory Rast was allowed to get clear as he was no threat to the overall lead of Lieuwe Westra and he won the stage. Ruben Perez and Petr Ignateko also finished with Rast, while everyone after that finished in the same lead group.
Stage 6 finished in another mass sprint and you'd think at this point that Renshaw would have won the stage, but he was outsprinted by Matthew Hayman. Mondory shows his consistency by finishing on the podium again in 3rd behind Renshaw.
1 | Lieuwe Westra | Vacansoleil | 17h23m47' | 2 | Rohan Dennis | Garmin | +12 | 3 | Rory Sutherland | Team Saxo Tinkoff Bank | +22 | 4 | Daniel Oss | BMC | +30 | 5 | Andrey Amador | Movistar | +42 |

Tour de France Wildcards have been announced. Team Europcar, Cofidis and Sojasun are the 3 teams who will ride the race on Wildcards.
Christina Watches looks like it will be managed under a new head sponsor come next season after the main sponsor now has said they are unwilling to renew their contract with the team.
And in other news, Mark Cavendish has said he will return to action this year, at the Tour of Qatar. He's hoping to get his sprinting legs back into shape, and the very pleasant temperature in Qatar is the perfect place to do so, rather than the cold European Continent where the temperatures are only a little above 0 Celcius this time of year in many parts.

Thanks guys. Nice to see Hendo and Moser do well Westra did well too!
Tour of Oman Stage 1
Well, its my first race of the year, and it isn't a goal of mine at all. Here, I'll just be working for team-mates, and working up my form. The nice weather is a bonus too. Im hoping really to just grab bidons and stay in the bunch today. I dont think Im the man for the breakaway in this tour either, but who knows. That may come later on, if I lose too much time.
Well, in all honesty, this stage was a typical flat stage. A break got clear, and after a while the sprint teams chased them down. Even we chipped in later on with the chasing, and eventually we knew it would come down to a sprint, for our man Coquard.
The sprint teams get their trains set up. Vacansoleil sets it up for their man, Feillu while Im on the left of the picture bringing Turgot up, while Coquard followed Sagan.
And on the line, just barely, Feillu wins it. Coquard grabs the team a 6th, but we hope to get a bit better at our sprint later on in the race. I feel as though the team has room for improvement, but Im super happy with the help I put in for Turgot.

Tour of Oman - Stage 2
Today is a hard stage to judge. Its classified as a flat stage, but the hill at the end, my guess, will mean that the pure sprinters will not be the ones crossing the line first. We've got Voeckler and Turgot who may be our best bets today, but Im also a Free Element if my legs feel good today. Im decent on the hills and I've got a bit of a quick finish, but who knows.
The stage sees 4 riders get clear for the breakaway but the top teams didn't allow them to stay clear and they were brought back with the 2nd climb still to go, so quite early.
Kiendys of CCC gets clear on the final descent and he has a good gap to the rest of the peloton, but the hilly riders are coming fast as its clearly a day for them and not the pure sprinters.
But look at that. Roman Feillu takes the win! What a sprint by him, and he makes it 2/2 for Vacansoleil. He did absolutely amazing in the final!
But I felt great in the end, and was able to sprint for a 9th place! Super happy with my finish, because I really could have done better as well. A few more meters and I may have finished on the podium. I finished best of the team too, so that was great!
