That saw 1 good mountain stage and 2 bad ones, hopefully Vancouver can deliver 2 good ones, but I fear it might not. Summit finishes appear to be more destructive if theres enough tough climbing earlier in the stage.
Some of us are counting on two shitty mountain stages though Looking for a top5 if that happens, otherwise the best climbers will relegate Plaza to lower places.
On the flat side of this race, I'm curious to see how Avelino + Santos will pan out. Our sprints haven't been awful but they haven't been has prolific has I thought they could be. Anyway a stage win is almost mandatory here.
This is an important race for America Tour. It could really bolster your chances but it can very well punish the weaker teams too.

These races make me miss having a decent mountain leader - especially as the favourite would fit into my team perfectly...
Gonna be a good one for the neutral, hard to pick a winner based on this years variety so far- though Kritskey is my pick to continue his awesome run.

Yes - where the hell is he? Crue has not put him in the Tour of America, has he? |

Crue probably expected to sell Dekker, as he didnt give a high HC priority to races like this.
He isnt in the Tour of America - but that doesnt meant you should get your hopes up at all Miguel, as the C1 GT does have probably it's strongest field yet this season. But that is still some months away!

Still, better than having Dekker there. |

That is some start list
I reckon the top 10 is going to be a bit of a lottery, will all depend on who gets lucky on the climbs. Looking forward to seeing if Serebriakov does a bit better in these sprints though. |

Right where I expected to be after stage 1. Great report CA, and perfect timing as well as I'm waiting for class to start If all goes well Abal should be 3rd to 5th, which is good enough for me. Avoid regulation to make a promotion push next season!

Grande Taaramae!
That gradient was a lot lower than expected. Surprised to see Tony Martin as high as 30th, and Oscar Solis down in 49th.
Now time to keep that lead right until the end. We don't have a good history of this

Had hoped for 2nd, but can live with this. Now I just need to him to stay with the others in the mountains and then get top 3 in the last TT. My team should be strong enough to get him in the best possible position

At least our travel costs are next to nothing.
That told me exactly nothing about who will win... only that this is going to be tight

Lost more than i expected, but if Rogers at least keeps that GC-position before the TT, things could go well...

Did not lose as much time as feared. That's good.

Pozzovivo finished a few places higher than I was expecting. Needs to get some time in the mountains to hold on to the podium though...fingers crossed he makes an attack that sticks at some point. |

Nicely done, Gianpaolo. 7th is better than I expected. Looks promising for the remainder of the race. Taaramae will be unstoppable from now on.
Great work with the report, Count.
