Fintas: What about in the Crits?
He participated in only two where he managed 1 win and some top10, and in one of these crit were hilly stages ..
PS: He has many limitations and what I mean is I did not expect much, so for me it has fulfilled
Van Loocke? He did not win in the Crits series he got 12 points in ten ''stages'' btw and i agree that he has never been seen as one of the favorites for the sprints.

You're right I think the best we got was even a third

A slight spoiler for Stage 1, which doesnt really give anything away:
Spoiler 3 of Stage 1's Top 10 are not on the list of the 24 'best sprinters' in the race that is found in the first post.

Hope it's the last to die. Unless the IA screws up. Then, it's the 1st to die. |

What a pleasant surprise provide by Fabio Silvestre, who like Martin Irvine were able to score ...
And that this stage was troubled with many teams to be victims of falls, especially Privatbank ... Many are already apart of the struggle for final victory, just hope that the team can maintain or improve this provision ..
Congrats Miguel and thanks for the great report SN

After all i was not much mistaken and Irvine was one of them, but not expecting the other to be Silvestre

The Good: Belletti finishing 2nd, Ilias grabbing the Mountain Jersey.
The Bad: The rest... 6 riders losing time in a sprint stage!
Well we will be all in for Belletti and the mountain jersey I hope!
Nice report SN - I thought Belletti was going to snatch it at the last

I hate the fact that my team was helping chase the break. They should be attacking themselves!
And they didn't even join the sprint... This is charity for the sprint teams.

Surprising results there in the final top10. Ciocan as the winner and Silvestre as the underdog there were really impressive. Also I was hoping my sprint train to do OK here, but we still have 3 more stages to get that right.
Bad luck to Privatbank too. They had a valuable candidate in Cardoso. Losing him this way must be terrible. I hope Lima can somehow do the trick for them.

Terrible day for us :/. Hopefully Schinker can improve or Brammeier does well on the more hilly stage to salvage something here. |

Oh... Great...
Cunha did a good job tho, shame he couldn't keep up with the pack, hope he tries his luck again...
All I can hope now is that Bruno will take stage 3, which should be the stage that suits him best...

A windy sprint always seems to see good sprinters fade, unless they are really strong. The CTour guys obviously have some weaker stats, Ciocan though not the fastest is pretty strong.
Interesting we actually got splits behind meaning that bonifications in the middle of the stage may well mean less, it's going to be judged on finishes.

Almost 2 for my team. Happy for 2nd and 5th, a lot of points. Hope that Ciocan can hang into the GC lead. |
