Another sprint stage for Haussler to test his not yet very fit legs on.
As the sprint began to roll Haussler was not in an as good a position as yesterday but was still looking ok and more importantly feeling good as the sprinters jumped.
But it was Freire again taking the win with Haussler again in third position.
Final Results
Haussler is now second although seeing as though there are no time differences it is virtually meaningless.

Today would be the first stage for our team that hasn't been completely flat and give Schumacher his chance to test his legs.
With only a very small uphill finish Schumacher gave Zberg the nod to lead him out on attack with 20km to go, Haussler came to, so to help Schumacher further on and it was those two who had twenty seconds on the pack with 13km to go.
Unfortunately they were pulled back and after putting his energy into his attack Schumacher could only do his best to hold everything together and finish with the leaders as Beltran claimed the win.
Results
Schumacher is now in yellow but does not have any time gaps to anyone important.

Today the team was ready to work to defend Schumacher's non-existent lead and keep him in with a chance of overall victory.
After we had pulled back the breaks the attacks began on the final hill, schumacher couldn't get away but rode strongly on the front of the pack and broke away with a group of 7 riders.
At the finish line 3 remained but the other two outsprinted Schumacher as he finished 3rd and retained his jersey.

Today would be crunch time for Schumacher - will he sit in the pack and control the others or breakaway to claim time gaps and victory in the final stage of this race.
He chose the latter and at the bottom of the final hill gave Zberg the signal to lead him out of the pack.
He rode beautifully in a solo effort - taking more then 50 seconds off the pack as he claimed our first victory of the year.
Results
Schumacher wins both the leaders and young riders' jersey

Here we are, the entire Tour of California in one post.
Stage 1
A short individual prologue in which Lang was able to take 5th; we weren't too fussed he couldnt win though, it meant the team didnt have to work to protect a leaders jersey yet.
Results
Stage 2
A slightly hillier day and with Rebellin one of the strongest over hills in the pack we'd told him this morning that he could have a go for victory if he felt good and he obviously did, as Beat Zberg lead him out of the pack.
Rebelling began to sprint and Zberg was able to take his wheel, especially good for his overall classification hopes.
1 - 2 for Gerolsteiner !!!! a great start for the team in this race
Results
Rebellin and Zberg now 3rd & 5th Cancellara still leads.
Stage 3
A regulation sprint stage which Paolini won, the main surprise was that Rebellin and Zberg (both less then 70 sprint) were able to take 5th and 9th.
Results
Stage 4
The "mountain" stage of this tour in which Zberg would look to grab the lead, however he would have to deal with Evans first.
Zberg got away with a group of seven riders on the final climb and the peloton was pushing hard to bring them back.
They did reach them in the final stages of the sprint but they couldnt stop Zberg taking the victory.
Results
Zberg now wears the yellow jersey and also leads the points competition
Stage 5
A hill stage today, could Rebellin take his second victory?
unfortunately not, this stage resulted in a pack sprint with Paolini again winning
Results
Zberg still in yellow but paolini now wears the green jersey.
Stage 6
A 25km time triral of which i have foolishly deleted both screens and results however it was an important stage, with Cancellara waking the lead off Zberg, Lang took 3rd place on the day.
Stage 7
After getting used to wearing the Jersey Beat feels incomplete without it and seems set on taking it back today.
And so it was, another double for Gerolsteiner, to put Zberg back in yellow
Results
Zberg now also leads the points competition again.
Stage 8
A sprint stage that shouldnt threaten our lead and will give Zberg and Rebellin a chance to try out their new found sprinting skills.
And indeed they did, Zberg sneaking onto the podium in front of much better competition, behind a dominant hushovd.
Results
Zberg wins yellow and the points competition

Stage 1
After his teammates fantastic sprint performances in recent races Peter Wrolich seems especially determined to do well in a tough field.
Unfortunately he didnt get it quite right and could only grab 9th behind Hunter.
Results
Stage 2
Today Wrolich was looking to try and get onto the podium and he came very close, finishing 4th behind Freddie Rodriguez.
Results
Rodriguez now lead, Hunter second.
Stage 3
A tougher stage today, in which Zaugg would look to perform well.
Although Freddy most likely would have lost his jersey today anyway, that didnt stop his whole team dropping back when he punctured.
He wouldnt get back to the pack which had survived the mountain as a whole and we were pleased to see Wrolich finally get onto the podium.
Results
Wrolich is now fifth overall and Barbosa is looking strong in the lead.
Stage 4
Today we had decided to make our move for the lead so with 15 or so km to go Moletta attacked and set a hard pace.
The pack reached him in the sprint but he still took the win.
Results
Moletta is now second, only 6 seconds off Barbosa.
Stage 5
A flattish stage in which Wrolich was able to claim 3rd for the second time, again behind Rodriguez who seems to have great form.
Results
Gerolsteiner take third and fourth, behind Barbosa and Robbie Hunter.

A hilly circuit race faces our squad, lead by Schumacher and Wegman.
On the second last time up the hill the favorites attacked and three of our guys were feeling good and all managed to make it into the group.
Wegman had been dropped by the time the sprint began so it was Moletta who lead Schumacher out.
And Schumacher sprinted past to take the victory in another double for Gerolsteiner.

Another hilly race faces the team again lead by Schumacher.
Unfortunately A big break got away and by the time we realised every other team was represented and we would have to chase it was too late and a breakaway rider claimed victory.

The First PT outing of the year and although we don't have much strength in the mountains we will be represented strongly in the hills by Rebellin and in the sprints by Heinrich Haussler.

A short prologue which gave me one of the strangest results that i have ever seen.
(i played this btw SN )
Davide Rebellin took the incredible victory, with his average TT skills (65) over the likes of Guiterrez and Evans perhaps stranger was Haussler and Keinath taking 3rd and 4th

After our teams strangely spectacular performance yesterday (WE DO NOT DOPE) we would be looking to keep Rebellin in yellow on this flat sprinters stage.
As the sprint begun Haussler was getting a great lead out from freire who seemed to have decided that he didnt require a lead out man himself.
And he was quite right, no one could get near him as Haussler took second.
