why .jpg!!
JPG's load massivly faster than PNG's in large amounts
As a story there will be lots of screens. If they are PNG's the page takes a while to load, and this is a major turn off to the casual reader and a strain on the dedicated readers.
Other impacts then are reduced viewership and comments, which is detrimental to motivation
Everyone will say that they massively prefer stories with .jpg screens over .png ones.
Everything else is always up to the writer but this is the one given thing for all stories (or at least it should be)
If you dont know how to do that i am happy to help and explain

Right, I'm also expirimenting with a story, and I also used PNG -_-
Don't think that it's good for my motivation to change them all though....
@Luigi: No, Rui Costa story is also with .jpg
Oh well, you deleted your post

then don't use a lot of screenshots, or have many people commenting, PNG are from my experience much lager bytes then jpg (espacially in 3D race)

PNG's are larger allowing for better quality, but it means they take longer to load.
In small amounts there is no issues but assuming an average of 4 screens per stage and 3 stages a page it rapidly becomes an issue.

Australia
Road Race Winner: Cameron Meyer
Time Trial Winner: Cameron Meyer
As Michael Rogers and Michael Matthews were in bad shape, I simulated, the best we got was Michael Rogers in the Road Race, he got a 4th place.
The first race is Grand Prix de la Marseille.

At the end of the race Simone Ponzi is attacking, but the peloton is coming quickly behind him.
And Arnaud Demare is winning, that was close, Ponzi got to be unhappy now..
1 | Arnaud Demare | HTC - Logitech | 3h40'31 | 2 | Simone Ponzi | Astana Pro Team | s.t. | 3 | Luke Rowe | HTC - Logitech | s.t. | 4 | Pablo Urtasun | Euskaltel - Euskadi | s.t. | 5 | Andrey Amador | Movistar Team | s.t. | 6 | Michael Matthews | HTC - Logitech | s.t. | 7 | Gorka Izagirre | Euskaltel - Euskadi | s.t. | 8 | Martin Elmiger | AG2R La Mondiale | s.t. | 9 | Pablo Lastras | Movistar Team | s.t. | 10 | Zdenek Stybar | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team | s.t. |

Even if nothing happens you can write quite a lot. You can make drama even if not much happened. Or you can at least make more detailed sprint. But it´s up to you. Best thing is to be different from other stories. Don´t try to copy others styles just take something of it. |

On my keyboard it is anyway
Also in your reports you could report the break, but it was ok I guess. |

I know it's hard (I'm experiencing it myself too) to write about boring flat stages. You can try different things, like 1 picture of the breakaway, 1 at the start of the sprint and 1 at the finish, but try to create a bit more content!
Also, as you get more experienced with story writing, you learn how to write more even about the boring stages. Check out this stage of Pelli's story for example! https://pcmdaily.c...ost_593372 Basically nothing happens (breakaway -> getting caught -> mass sprint finish), but he writes almost a page about it! And it is certainily not boring to read it!
Take all this as constructive criticism, feel free to ignore it / do it your own way if you think it's better like that, since it's your story at the end of the day! |
