Maybe Gesink should try that, too, for a while?
Why? Gesink's problem isn't his recovery, but his lack of skills to ride in the peloton. Unlucky Bob, there's a peloton in the classics too.

Yeah maybe, but in a stage he has 21 times more chance to fall if he stays up right one day, he can win a classic |

He's a far better climber than classics rider though - unlike Kreuziger, who is more balanced between them.
Wouldn't make much sense for him to switch focus, imo.

Greg LeMond want to replace Pat McQuaid as President of the UCI!
He wants to make UCI more democratic and transparent and then consider who will be appropriate to lead the organization in the future (meaning: Not himself)

LeMond has a slightly bigger chance to win those elections than I do to become the next US president. Good luck though.

Quintana will be doing Tour next year. No Giro. Likely to be a helper for Valverde.

LeMond winning:
- Best thing that could possibly happen to the sport
- Not gonna happen. He doesn't have friends in high places

There's always the chance that he'll run alone for presidency
I believe there isn't a big probability of that happening, but hey we won't have a better opportunity than now, when the whole Armstrong affair has brought omerta down to its knees.
After all who could expect, a few months ago, that Armstrong would be so massively discredited by now?
Stop being so realistic you guys

Well, if it was a public voting he'd probably already be president, or somebody else, but UCI elects its president, and they're all so desperate to keep their position and progress in the system that they'll always make the conservative choice to keep things the way they are. |

Nobody mentioned that Team Type 1 now will be named Team Novo Nordisk, and will contain diabetics only?

They started as a team with riders that were only diabetics.
They changed this in last years, but this year they're coming back to their legacy after complaints from fans I believe.
That's why the have such big exodus in the transfer window obviously as well.

I gotta say it's a much better name
When I first heard of Team Type 1 (in PCM), I thought it was a team that Cyanide didn't have a license from and they named it that |

Nahh, Type 1 is a type of Diabetes and that instantly associated the team with the condition.
However Novo Nordisk is a healthcare provider, so it's still okay, but I preferred last name due to the instant association.

It's not just a healthcare provider. It's one of the leading companies when it comes to products that can treat type 1 diabetes.
Anyway, it's interesting to see a major Danish company back another (international) team than Saxo - Tinkoff. Hadn't seen that one coming. |

Speaking of Team Type 1/Novo Nordisk, is there a list of their current riders? Last time I checked they didn't have many. |

Simple market economics. America is getting increased diabetes rates and so they are sponsoring American sports teams/icons. It isn't about raising awareness of the disease, it is about a company capitalising on the health situation in America.

ELDRIDGE Joe
MEGIAS LEAL Javier
VERSCHOOR Martijn
IN
CIACCHINI Andrea
DEMESMAEKER Kevin

The same since the last time I checked. There might be some riders coming perhaps, a team Pro Continental team with 9 riders only seems too less. |
