Stage Profile
The Race
The overall leader (Boonen) sitting comfortably near the front of the peloton.
At the first sprint of the day it was Cardoso who got it ahead of Roulston
and Westra. The leading group has 2.22 on the peloton.
With 84km to go it was Ballan who tried from a long way out.
Perez Moreno won the mountain sprint ahead of Kohler and Wagner.
Roulston won the 2nd and final sprint point ahead of Clarke and Cardoso.
With 20km to go the break had 1.46
With 10km to go the gap was 46 seconds
With 7km to go the break had 31 seconds. All the lead outs were getting ready.
The break was caught with 4km to go.
With 3km to go it was between Garmin and Omega Pharma
1km to go this is what it looked like
And it is Farrar’s. A great sprint by him. 2nd went to McEwen and Greipel 3rd.
