Congrats to the promoted teams, and thanks to all the reporters. Tinkoff were my real surprise package, in a bad way while the three new teams were pleasant surprises and it'll be interesting to see Alarcon, Bennati and Di Maggio in the Pro Tour.
I think only Bennati is really worth it in the pro tour, with a question sign on Alarcon. Alarcon never did well when racing wildcards with Ikea, but then he was a domestique for Taaramae. Then again, Taaramae didn't really do well last year :-p Di Maggio I think will be too weak in a Pro Tour peloton. It's harder to stay on without the needed backup stats there.

Congrats to the promoted people. With 7 people promoting and probably some teams disbanding as well there should be lots of room for us CDiv2 guys.
It's so exciting, can't wait to see how it continues.

Alarcon's only PT race was 20th in the 2011 Tour. But being domestique was the key, because in PCM11 the game AI was all about the team leader. Will be fun to finally see him lead a team in some PT races after tearing up the CT for the past 2 seasons

Ah, I thought he raced more races. That should explain it then. Will be interesting to see yeah, and it would be great to see (from a manger who have seen him drive away from his riders for 2 years) him dropped (sorry Ember). But from what I've seen from Ember the main plan is to keep Alarcon, I hope he does that

Congrats to all the promoters. Can't wait to battle you in the PT - Please don't be as strong as Santander, I don't need that much competition to make top 5 next season

This was a difficult season for me so I'm glad it is over, but I'm hopeful it can serve as a base for the forthcoming years. I'm just glad we weren't last in the ranks
Anyway congrats to Bianchi and the rest of the promoting teams. So well done Rin, your team was perfectly build to achieve the CT title, you deserve the credit for that triumph.
Also a word for Rapha Qhubeka. They were amazing almost all season. I personally wasn't too trustful of a half african squad, but the the results just kept flying for them. Great managing SN You almost conquered the 2 divisions of the game in the same season. Isn't that something?

Had a great time as ever in the CTour and will definately miss it with the new structure and all.
But it doesn't take away that little feeling of pride that my masterplan of sneakily creaming off points here and there worked so incredably well that promotion was pretty much secured so far before the end of the season.
Trying to beat the standard bearers of Rapha and the quite brilliant Bianchi proved one step too far. It leaves me with no doubt that to win the CTour you really do need strength in depth, so it is an advantage to seasoned teams. All the teams from Hollister down to Bpost have the kind of foundations to suggest that any of these could challenge next time out - perhaps the relegated Protour teams can make a fist of trying for repromotion.
That said new teams do certainly have great chances of gaining a promotion spot in the first season. Kami showed it last year with Bacardi and now we see three guys make it this time out. I doubt Alarcon, Di Maggio and Bennati will be missed much by other managers. The real dangermen now will be those CDiv2 men, who have that experience under their belt. It sure will be a desperate scramble next time out - going to look forward to reporting it!
Red Bull waves goodbye for now - could well be back again after one year.

12th isn't that bad, but with all the strange accidents that have followed Roche and especially VDB this year, then I can only hope this will change for the next season.
- Don't know how I will manage to strenghen the team yet, but it's nice to know that Puccio and Aru will return after gaining experience elsewhere! My initial target when I created the team was to promote after 3 seasons in CT, but the team needs some serious tweaking to be a main contender for that - The transfer season will be incredible important this year, more than ever before!
I'm also looking very much forward to the next season, with the new rules in mind, can't wait to compete with well known managers like Crommy, CrueTrue, the lads from Div 2 and of course the currently "remaining" CT managers!

Good season everyone. My team is a bid slow to develop, but we have a lot of cash and a very solid base to set up a 2013 team that will be looking for a podium place!
Congrats to promotees this season, good luck in 2013. Hope to see you all in a seasons time |
