Enjoyed the attack of Nolf and Coyot. They were my cobbled leaders in my old DFL story!

And wow, it's now 5th overall for Blythe. He even got mentioned in the stage report Pfft

Avenir stage win, looking good here, and Faso still to come - he could at least be ending his time on my team strongly, even if he has been a bit of a let down where it counted for the last 2 seasons

I can't see Napolitano being able to take that yellow jersey from Bennati on the last day of racing. Though, it will be interesting to see if the hill on the final stage can force some strong attacks.

And we're on a streak!

(no, not a steak, you are missing a letter, and we're not Saxo Bank Pfft )

Plus amazingly 4th and 6th overall so far, this race could easily give us 300+ points if everything works out on stage 4 Cool

We actually have a top 5 goal here, really hope Hushovd can make that, so far he has the chance.

Well that went great.....

This race is turning into another disappointing performance from my team. I have probably said this a million times now, but I can wait for the off season. Smile

I thought this would be a race for a sprinter who can do cobbles - I was wrong. Congrats to Puma, completely dominant. And Adam Blythe came 6th? Shock

SportingNonsense
Blythe has 76 sprint, so 6th overall in a race of 4 bunch sprints is a great result! Puma cleaned up though, will be a lot of points to them

Three teams leap up in the standings after the final HC stage race of the season. 558 points for Team Puma-SAP, 410 for UniCredit and 300 for Pokerstars.

Pokerstars in particular has a big effect on the promotion race as they bounce right back into the promotion spots, and with a 200 point cushion aswell. UniCredit would have been a threat now also but of course, they are to disband. This is a relief to many, as UniCredit are in both the remaining stage races aswell.

If only 4 teams were to promote, this would be getting very interesting, but there is a definite gap between the 6th and 7th best teams now, so who is left to challenge? We can write off Pirelli, Emu and Vespa now as they simply do not have enough races. VolksWagen may struggle aswell with only 4 classics to go. Perhaps Hollister then with Herald Sun Tour and 3 classics to go, or even Puma-SAP may go on a late charge. Theyre good on the flat, and not only are they off to Tour du Faso, but Bennati still has 2 races remaining aswell.

Oh my goodness.

That is so way more than what I ever expected from this race.

200+ points were easily achievabe with Bennati, but I still don't know how only 4 guys from the s.t. group could get time bonuses, and getting like 1/6th of the whole season points from one race makes me speechless for a second Grin

Kvist finally making any impact this season, but I'm still not sure whether that effort makes him worth keeping, might depend on his renewals offer and what our plan is for next season.

Gasparotto the ever-constant man who's worth every cent of the 230.000€ we pay for him in my biased mind Pfft

Thanks a lot Pelli for reporting, that 1-2 picture definately gets a special spot in our team bio Wink

Gasparotto has scored 68 points more than Vantomme this season!

And youre more likely to more up in the standings than down, imo Wink

It's a bit frustrating having brought Santos here for nothing, but I must admit I'm relieved this season is coming to an end.

Let's see if anyone still has what it takes to challenge for promotion. Puma doesn't hold a favourable placing but Bennati may be all they need to reach PT.

I hoped for stage win here, but 3rd & 7th overall plus team standings is good enough!

The first stage raised my hopes of a really good little race. But it didn't work out. In fairness Puma have showed that getting one really big star can really work out for CTour teams. They deserve their success.

They also have a really decent lead out for Bennati which shouldn't be underestimated. But I have my doubts about them catching Venchi, though they could well overtake a fair few teams.

I have even more doubts Wink

But I have to say thank you Smowz for all your kind words throughout the whole season, they always motivate me and "brighten up" (can't find a better phrase, I hope you get it) my view on my pre-season planning Smile

What a shitty race compared to the massive succes the team acchieved in Italy!

Seriously...Vantomme...What were you trying to do here?
No podium on the first two stages were already disappointed enough but with his crash he even destroyed all top10 GC chances. So yet another really disappointing race without any result for me while I really thought I could get a overall podium...This was definitely the last chance for Vantomme to deserve more than a minimum payment contract...
