Giro dell'Emilia Discussion Thread

This seems like a good time to ask a question I have.

My last goal this year is to finish in the Top 10 of the Continental Tour. I was just wondering if that counts as Top 10 among the Continental teams (the new teams), or all the teams (ProConti as well)?

I assume that it's the latter, but I just want to be sure. Smile

All teams. There are only 12 Conti teams, so wouldnt be much of a goal if it were that!

Seems like there will be no promotion for me... Gotta plan for CT next season then...

Edit: Got Duo Normad, Paris Tours and Japan Cup left, hopefully some good results there

Yeah, that's what I figured.

Oh well, it shows how poorly I planned this first season out. Next year will be much better. Smile

Oh, I was in this race? That dated back to the times I thought I could grab Sinkewitz/Kessler/Wegmann Grin

Well, Top 68 is quite okay after all Pfft

Also, the rankings still look pretty okay, I should close in on BPost with Franco-Belge, but I need some more results in Paris-Tours, Faso and Taihu.

Well I think this race totally killed off any chance of a top 15 unless I can get an unreasonably large points haul at Faso.

Kind of sick of Vanendert doing nothing at all.

Do not despair Count I recall being in almost exactly the same position last year. I think teams like yours and roturns for example have a good platform to build into the next year - which is a significant advantage from building from scratch.

Actually I would prefer to be in your position rather than even Aker Solutions or perhaps Venchi. Who will have to largely build from scratch in the Protour... as will likely I after my visit to the old age pensioners home where my team largely reside!

Which PT race was won by the Oz Cycling Project? Shock

I guess my team will end up on 1st position which was a lot more than I thought I would get, Top 5 goal was ok but 1st against Rapha?

What a team success again, but it's the Cya logic I guess.. Sometimes like at Milano simply nothing and then having luck like here with a lot of riders in the top 10. Hope that I will have enough cap space to add some PT leaders as I think my team has a solid base of helpers but not PT caliber.

FBD Eire Tour.

1st against Rapha? Well, the funny thing is - Bianchi were predicted 1st and 2nd in ember and Smowz' previews, while Rapha were only predicted to be 6th and 10th Pfft

No complaints from me there - well done to Roche - must have been on a very good day there.

In terms of the overall, Carrara and Bosisio really let us down as 3rd and 4th leaders of the squad. Race day wise they came up against too many real team leaders just about every race they entered.

Be interesting to see the tactics pursued by the teams that do go up in the transfer market.

Yes but they rated your team there Wink
You had always in the CT with that team a Top 5 position so I couldn't understand those positions.

Great win by Roche, he finally showed his worth - I'm defiantly not going to promote, but it's nice to end the season like this, and it proves my team doesn't need huge modifications during the transfer season to really be a force in the CT!

- Nice report Mresuperstar!

roturn
Ouch. Hermans not being able to even make a top30. Quite disappointing. Sad
