He was behind the OPQS guy. He stopped though.

That BMC guy up front reminds me of the late great Phillipe Gilbert

Very nice stage
Tune back in on tuesday
Also, Froome at the back of the group hanging on for his life. Interesting.

Awesome finish!
What looked like a decent stage on paper turned out much better.

Fantastic J-Rod. If he raced like this in the giro he would have won it,

Why can Purito not stop leading opponents out?

He wanted to gain as many seconds as possible, rather than win the stage. A logical move if you ask me. He's here for the overall.

What about the time bonuses?

In the Worlds Purito won't give him the stage.

The difference between first and second is just four seconds. If he had started to look at Gilbert, they'd have lost more than that from slowing down.

The usual agreement. Gilbert helped pull on the descent and climb, RodrÃguez gave him the stage

Clearly there was a deal Gilbert worked to increase the lead and J-rod would not sprint for the win. Good Tactics.

Purito is probably very happy with this. He's a minute ahead in GC now.

Gilbert willl win the Worlds this year. Brilliant racing at the end there. This is already this years best Grand Tour by a mile. |
