Could be a good race for Div2 after Bodner started us of with a 14th!
Would be nice, it depends whether the team are inspired by Het Niuewsblad, or Armavia. (Sorry Bjartne)

Easy to know. Where did they do the altitude training, Mt. Teide or Mt. Ararat?

Mt. Grappa, with a campervan in attendance. |

Well-timed attack by Iannetti, congrats! I like the way Aaron Gate kept fighting here. Too bad he couldn't hold on for a Top-3, but his KoM-lead is nice. Hope to see him in another break (with KoM-points)

Carrara somehow always seems to manage to mess up a decent overall finish. |

What a thrilling win by Iannetti, brilliant way to start a race were our expectations aren't the highest! It would be awesome to have the shirt for a couple of days, though it will be hard with red bull in particular looking strong.
Another great report Bushwackers, it's nice to see yet another great addition to the reporter part of the game!

Nice to see Verona in the breakaway since I didn't bring a sprinter, and congrats to rycadinho with a nice victory.

It's turning into one of those races I'd just like to fast forward through to the end.
Nice reports though - appreciate the humour. |

I agree on the reports, great job there!
And of course I like what my Oz-team is doing here so far. Getting two riders in good position for the KoM-ranking is nice, hope we can hold on there and keep that aggressive in the breaks.
Congrats to our Aussie-friends for the stage-win

Hmm, Theo Eltink the sprinter, aiming for the green jersey?
Great reports btw! |

The Team D2 results have been mixed so far in Swaziland. The announced team leader Said Haddou has not been able to ride with the CT peleton especially on the climbs. The sprinters have also kept him out of position and unable to be a factor. Stage 3 should have been his best opportunity but Said was never able to get a wheel and was a non-factor in the final sprint.
However three D2 riders are still lurking between 10th and 28th. Bodnar is the best placed in 10th, but Klimov and Dietziker are also in very good shape at 26th and 28th. Hasnaoui is 12 in the young rider classification and just 0'32 back. He is also 43 in the GC.
With three stages left to race the D2 team are showing well. Hasnaoui should have a good chance to get into a breakaway on stage 4 (or possibly the last stage (6). If he can the terrain is good for him to not only help but to possibly finish in a stage top 10. |

A bit disappointing to lose the leader's jersey after just one day, but at least Niemiec still has an advantage over all the GC contenders.
Hopefully he'll stay strong in the mountains.

Great stuff from Bodnar to still be in the top 10. Hopefully the D2 riders can continue this form and do the division proud.

Good sprinting from Haedo, he looked good on stage 2, and just proved that on stage 3. Congrats to Smowz though, playing a 2-3-4 on stage 2, followed by a stage win on stage 3 should give a lot of appreciated points for him
Will be interesting to see how the following hilly stage will play out, hopefully Alarcon won't loose any time there, as I can't see him gain time on hills, as long as the final kilometers isn't uphill.

Well, Smowz, there's some more reasons to enjoy your holiday Impressive domination by Jayco. Would be fine from your riders to stay away from the KoM-lead-battle though

CSC did everything right and could only manage a 7th.
But it was sure entertaining the whole time.

That was what I expected/feared not having a strong team. I don't think there's any chance Alarcon will be strong enough to gain 2'30 on Moinard on two short mountains, considering Moinard is a solid climber and will be well positioned as he wears yellow. As long as he doesn't work for Rovira I'll be happy
Having said that, it was a great ride from Rovira, and it would be a pleasant surprise if he can hold on to a top 10 overall, and with Jayco holding the yellow jersey I think a breakaway or two don't have as much chance as they would have if any other team holds yellow. That should mean it's "only" the overall contenders to fight for Rovira, not breakaway riders aswell
And big congratulations to Smowz. His team's overall strength really pays off in Asia. Thanks for the reports aswell, great depth, covering every move there was in the closing kilometers, I felt. |

I wouldn't be surprised, Alarcon is a beast and just attacks and attacks until he gets what he wants. I support my statement through numerous races he has been in and watching him in person when I did the Urkiola Igoera report.

If there was just one mountain stage I think moinard would hold on. But even so what an awesome position to be in with two stages left ! Six guys in top ten and two stage wins.
