He had a viral infection so his fitness will be too low to ride. Shame. He was my favourite rider last year in the Tour.

Seems like Scarponi will do the Tour this year going for stage wins and going into breakaways. No GC of course because of to many tt kms. |

That's some poor support for the Pope. Only Caruso, Gusev and probably Trofimov to be of any assistance at all in the mountains. Menchov will be a lonely man at high altitude. But with Purito, Moreno and Losada knackered after the Giro, I guess Katusha can't do much better than this.
Is Spilak injured?

Sky's Short-list for Tour
Boasson Hagen
Cavendish
Eisel
Froome
Knees
Lofkvist
Pate
Porte
Rogers
Siutsou
Sutton
Uran
Wiggins
Uran, Lofkvist & Sutton definitely will not go, only in emergency.
Then it's a toss up between Eisel and Pate for final place. Wiggo, EBH, Froome, Porte, Cav and Rogers are 100% though if nothing happens.
Interesting - given how Sky tend to keep groups together throughout the season I'm guessing at:
Boasson Hagen
Cavendish
Froome
Knees
Pate
Porte
Rogers
Siutsou
Wiggins
Though perhaps Bernie will slip in.
Nordhaug would be way better than Pate. He's better on the flats, he's better climber and offers better support for Wiggins. |

Disagree. Pate is more useful than Nordhaug on the flat. And Sky have more useful riders than Nordhaug on the climbs.
