I voted Wiggins because I really would love to see a British rider win The Tour. It's robably the best chance in my life time and it could give cycling a big boost in this country.
My head says that Evans is a tough critter and won't give up his title easily.

I think it will come down to Wiggins, Evans, and Frank Schleck. The amount of time trial km definitely favors Wiggins, but I think Evans and Schleck will take time on him in the mountains if they are aggressive enough. I think Frank is the surprise winner though. He time trialed decent today in the Tour de Suisse, I think he has it in him to do it well enough to win in France. He does not have to worry about contending with Andy now, so I think he will be very aggressive on the climbs. My guess is Schleck over Evans by a very slim margin, followed somewhat closely by Wiggins. |

I dont even see Wiggo getting a Top 3....
His climbing is over-rated since the Vuelta and someone like Evans wont lose too much time in the TT's. I also think Nibali wont be too far out of it after TT's, so I'd favour those two over him.
I just think people are focusing too much on the TT's. The lack of MTF's could force riders to attack on a more spread out, amount of stages, like the little hilly ones that wouldn't suit Wiggins.

Yeah I am also not sure why everybody is jumping on the "Wiggins" bandwagon... I certainly am not.

I agree! and remember, Cadel is pretty good at time trialing as well! my votes with him!

This is what I've been thinking too. There's no doubt that it's a perfect route for Wiggins, but I still doubt he has what it takes to win the whole race.
Without many real mountain stages, we should see the easier stages turn much more interesting. I think Wiggins could lose some time here and there, for example some seconds in the first week's uphill finishes in Seraing and Boulogne-sur-Mer. Then we can hope for early attacks on the Porrentruy and Grand Colombier stages, where there are tricky descents near the finish. Perfect opportunities for the likes of Nibali and Evans.
Not saying that Wiggins isn't the huge favourite though. He definitely is.

I would love to see him win it but i still have my reservations |

I think Gesink has a good chance. He has a good ITT and he is very strong in the mountains.

Wiggins will win this. He has by far the strongest timetrial amd he won't lose minutes on Evans in the mountains. Nibali or Gesink for the last podiumspot. Frank Schleck will totally fail, because he just can't timetrial. |

I don't know the exact course but especially hearing about all those non-MTF-mountain stages, what about Sammy Sanchez? I mean, he's like one of the best descenders in the peloton, not too weak in TTs either... Could he be up for the podium? What do you think?

Samu has lost it a bit on the descents, he even admits that himself. But I think he has a good chance for a top five if he has recovered from his Dauphiné crash.

Evans and Wiggins doesn't know how to attack , they only suck wheels. It's normal if they don't loose time on each other. But they won't win time either.
Too many descents this year. Wiggins is not good in that but his team gonna work for him. It is a fucking thing that Wiggins can do on a bike except time trial ? |

I'm gonna take a punt on Gesink, I think if someone can do an attack on the climbs Wiggins and Evans might struggle to respond.

Pau - Luchon is a stage to die in
If I were Frank, or any other "outsider" (I mean not Evans or Wiggins), I'd attack on Tourmalet, because there isn't a flat km left after it. |

I think with Andy out of it it'll be down to Frank to show us what he's worth. |

Personally, i think it will be a whole different race to previous years where TT ability doesn't nessesarily come into play (unlike this year, obviously). If Sylvain Chavanel or Tony Martin can find the form of their Tour de France's of 2010 and 2009 respectively, both have a very realistic chance of high Tour success. Sylvain Chavanel can climb both Hill's and the Lower Mountain's very well, and is a TT'er fully capable of losing minimal time and even putting some back into the favourite, except for the likes of Tony Martin, who should win both long TT's and, judging by his 2009 performance up Mont Ventoux, should have ample climbing ability to keep up with the favourite's on all but a few of the climbs, especially considering he is now relieved of lead-out duties for Mark Cavendish.
Aside from the a fore mentioned, the Tour this year is not one to be won, it is one to be lost by Bradley Wiggans, who will not only struggle on the steeper mountain passes, but may also have blunted TT ability due to hard days on the Col's. Along with Cav hunting for the Green Jersey and stages, Team Sky wil have a full plate to deal with and you can never avoid spilling some of the sides. And if Cav's salary is anything to go by, he will be firmly planted in the middle. |

Chavanel? No way. Even when he was in his amazing 2010 form, he got dropped on the first actual mountain. He's very decent on the hills as you said, but he's way too weak on the serious climbs to even think about a GC result. After La Toussuire, he'll be a long way from the top of the GC.
