That will be very hard to happen. Any manager with a strong rider from any of those country will make sure to vote for them

Exactly. And the presence of strong TTers should not be a problem as most of them are great domestiques anyway.

I hope Michael Ford gets picked for the Aussies!

I know. And I feel 6 keeps it close to that, while giving PCM11 a chance of coping with it.
Yeah, I wasn't questioning it, just saying that it might have an even bigger effect irl.

Up to 33 voters now.
A couple of surprising countries are missing out at the moment - or very close to be missing out. Some are easily through though, of course. Even the few D2 voters who have got involved are making a difference!

Cool... My votes have been for shit nations and subtop ones. I could go for Spain and Italy, but neither Pozzato, Ulissi or Contador are likely to be captains so, why bother. I'm not even sure that both Ulissi and Pozzato would get selected :-/

So many nations are just 1 or 2 votes away from selection - 46 different countries have been nominated altogether |

Results time! Italy, Germany and Belgium cruised through easily, but it was all very close behind. Japan made it through as the final qualifier since they were the top Asian squad - Ukraine are unlucky since they had the same number of points.
The biggest surprise has got to be Russia. Vladimir Karpets now cannot defend his Olympic TT title, after Russia completely failed to get anywhere near qualifying.

Actually made the difference on 2 countries being selected there .
Did either Tinkoff or Nestle actually vote, as it's really strange that Karpets and Ignatiev will be missing out.

The only Russian votes came from Rjc. I wasnt hugely surprised that those two teams didnt vote, based on their seeming lack of interest in the game.

I guess the big ones as well as Russia (who probably were more dangerous in the road race than the TT) is Luxembourg (The Schlecks) and New Zealand (Bewley).
I did actually vote for Luxembourg to try and get Kirchen in the team but didn't fully commit with just the one vote which I kinda regret. But at least I get on the panel for the French, South African and Australian teams who all have a shout of doing something in the road race and Australia have a good chance of getting a medal in the time trial.
Interesting to see a lot of votes for Italy - places feet up, gets popcorn and gets ready for the debate for the six man Italian team Will the Giro winner get a place!

Good to see that I finally made a difference for Slovenia.
Not the same luck with Croatia apparently.

No Israel or Mexico.
Russia missing out isn't a surprise, when the majority of their top riders are at Tinkoff and Nestle, who's managers seem to be missing. Plus, they don't really have any top sprinters who can be expected to get over Box Hill. |

Belgium, South Africa and Japan through for me. I am under no illusion that any of my riders will be good enough for the really competitive Belgian team. So I've sent what I think is the best team that Belgium can field... there are 4 potential winners there in the RR.
But more importantly...
Arashiro for Olympic Gold! WOOOOO!

Tried to help you with Israel, but guess we have to try again in approximately 4 seasons time
Even though I don't have the opportunity to see my own riders in the olympics, it will still be a interresting race to follow. Good luck! |
