After 3KM, Michael Baer decides to break away.


Van Zandbeek decides to counter Baer's attack, and is directly followed by our own Dominik Nerz.


Just when the group is caught again, Nerz attacks again, and gets a gap.


Nerz reaches the KoM sprint in first position.


Meanwhile, Daniele Righi and Adrián Palomares attack from the peloton.


Palomares doesn't get to Nerz, but Righi and Vincent Jérôme do.


Jérôme wins both intermediate sprints. 20KM before the finish, when the 4'00 gap is reduced to less than a minute, Nerz has a go!


Sadly, he couldn't get away. However, Righi tries, and gets away! Will it be enough?


No! Righi is caught by the peloton 10KM before the finish.


5KM before the finish, there is a massive carnage, involving over 30 riders. Luckily none of our riders are involved, and no one had to abandon.


Our team tried hard, and we had a good leadout, but because of the bad shape our riders are in, we didn´t succeed. Steegmans was our best finisher, in 11th place. Veranda's Willems´ Stefan Van Dijk did however, and won the stage with ease. Good job by them.


The only good thing about today's race for us was Nerz in the polkadot jersey. We can be proud of the young German.
