Cannot wait teams looks great!
you should win the australian championships if you control the race and invest on one rider.

We start our journey here, in Australia. The National Time-Trial Champs are commencing today, and next Tuesday, the 11th, is the road race.

i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z356/kitface/PROFILEAUSSIETT.jpg

Word from the DS: Adam Hansen is the only rider we bothered to sign up for, since he is the only competitive Australian TTman on the team. The favourites today are the big 3 of Rogers, Porte and Evans, but Bobridge, the Meyers or Sutherland may suprise.

Race Day

The race itself wasn't too interesting for the first few hours, as Cameron Meyer held the top spot nearly all day. Hansen had a good first half, but faded in the better half of the circuit to come in 12th overall.

i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z356/kitface/HANSENANDMEYER.jpg
Adam Hansen and Cameron Mayer out on the course.

The day got interesting when the big 3 came on, and Richie Porte gave Meyer a reality check, knocking him off the top spot by 32". Michael Rogers had his turn and edged out Porte by a fraction of a second, taking over the top spot with only one man to go, Cadel Evans.

The Big 3 battling it out for the top spot!

Evans rode very fast, and pipped Rogers by 14" to take the national title!

The next race on the calendar is:

i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc62/jolly_anutnes/daily/AUS.png Australian Road-Race Championships

i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z356/kitface/PROFILEAUSSIERR.jpg

Word from the DS: This type of race is usually either won by a breakaway, or a sprint finish. We will bring Matty Goss, David Tanner, Mitch Docker and Baden Cooke. Gossy is pretty unfit right now, but David and Baden are looking okay. It will be very unpredictable, and whoever is in the best position to win, will give it their best.

Race Day

165kms: The first attacks came quite early, with Mitch Docker (Chrome) being one of 6 to join a break. Leigh Howard (HtC - Highroad) and Chris Sutton (Sky) were also there.

i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z356/kitface/break1AUSSIERR.jpg
The early break was doomed!

162kms: Garmin were having nothing of it though, and reeled them back in.

142kms: Another 6-man group gets free, and Sutton and Howard are in there again.

137kms: The Chrome riders weren't allowing any breaks without one of their own, so brought them back.

125kms: More attacks came, ans when the dangerous Graeme Brown (Rabobank) set off, Baden Cooke (ChromeTech) instinctively followed.

i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z356/kitface/cookebrownbreakAUSSIERR.jpg
Danger-man Graeme Brown was the fastest man in the group.

117kms: Garmin seemed content now to let the lead grow, and it was now out to 2'00".

85kms: The lead was at 3'45" and the break was looking better and better for the win.

75kms: Simon Clarke (Astana) breaks away from the slow peloton, and gets stuck halfway between the break and the main field.

i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z356/kitface/SIMONCLARKEHALFWAYAUSSIERR.jpg
Clarke with a smart attack.

65kms: Clarke fought ahead to join the main break.

40kms: Garmin were staring to worry know, as Cameron Meyer joined brother Travis, Bobridge and Matt Wilson (all Garmin) at the front relay. Break was down to 3'15".

35kms: With 3 more laps of the hilly circuit to go, the break was at 2'30". Heinrich Haussler and Brett Lancaster joined the other Garmin riders at the front, leaving Richie Porte alone.

i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z356/kitface/garminchaseAUUSIERR.jpg
The whole team is helping out now!

24kms: Robbie McEwen has a bad fall, and RadioShack's hopes of an Australian champion are over.

i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z356/kitface/mcewnwchrashAUSSIERR.jpg
That's gotta hurt!

22kms: With the field closing fast, Baden Cooke went for it, and soon gained 45" ahead of his breakaway compatriots, who were all soon caught.

7kms: Cooke is still alone in front as he heads up the final hill.

i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z356/kitface/last5kmsAUSSIERR.jpg
He's in time-trial mode, and looking as strong as ever!

5kms: He heads downhill alone still, and with 34", could go all the way!

1kms: Baden enters the final km alone, the win is all but sealed!

i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z356/kitface/1kmCOokeALONEAUSSIRERR.jpg
Amazing work by the veteran!

0kms: What a celebration! What a victory!

i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z356/kitface/COOKEWINAUSSIRERR.jpg
What a start!

0kms: Stuart O'Grady (Leopard) and Cadel Evans (BMC) sprint well to take 2nd and 3rd respectively, while Matt Goss (Chrome) comes in at 9th.

Word from the DS:
We have brought a very sprint-oriented team to the TDU. Swifty and Gossy will battle it out for the no. 1 spot, while Jack Bauer will try and get in some breaks, and maybe get a nice overall finish. Aussie Champ Baden Cooke, Taylor Phinney and David V will be the main sprint domestiques, with Mitch here to simply, get water!

Stage 1 is quite flat, and although a man in the break wouldn't hurt, our main goal is to get a good result in the sprint finish, and maybe even get a win! Our main rivals are the obvious ones like Cavendish, Farrar and co. but there always seems to be a surprise this early in the year!

Race Day

138kms: The inevitable first attacks came, and failed.

120kms: Izagirre (Euskatel), Gerdemann (Leopard), Vandenbergh (Katusha) all attack in a bid to win, and secure for tomorrow, the King of the Mountians jersey. Izagirre came out on top first, and with his points, faded back into the peloton.

118kms: Thomas Vaitkus (Astana) and Andrea Guardini (Farnese Vini) attack, and grasp a few quick minutes, before Chrome starts to chase.

98kms: The pair are caught.

93kms: Simone Ponzi (Liquigas) attacks from the peloton, and knowing the time was right, Jack Bauer (Chrome) follows. They quickly grab a minute's break.

i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z356/kitface/ponzibauerattackSTAGE1.jpg

88kms: After Bauer wins the first set of points, 7 more riders join them, with lots of big anmes like Theo Bos (Rabobank), Wesley Sulzberger (FDJ), Alex Rasmussen (HTC), Julian Dean (Garmin) and Robert Vigano (Leopard).

84kms: Bauer wins the points again, and secures the points jersey for tomorrow, as long as Ponzi doesn't win the stage.

75kms: The other 7 are very slow, and merge back into the peloton, while Ponzi and Bauer are ahead by 4'10"

i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z356/kitface/ponzibauerbreak1.jpg

62kms: Despite having no competitive sprinter's with them, Europcar are working very hard in the peloton to chase down.

i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z356/kitface/europcarchaseTOURDOWNUNDERSTAGE1.jpg

32kms: The pair are still holding on ahead, but as Rabobank takes over at the front, and with HTC in the wings waiting to pounce, it wasn't looking good for the leaders.

27kms: With one circuit left in the race, the pair have 1'23" on the main field.

13kms: After fighting hard, they were finally caught, and the sprinter's took over.

10kms: Trains are forming now, and the battles for position are commencing.

4kms: Chrome have a nice train going, with Goss last in line. Swift has decided to lead him out, instead of going solo.

i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z356/kitface/sprintsetupSTAGE1.jpg

2.5kms: David Veilleux is leading out Swift, with Goss looking comfortable behind. The favourites are lining up behind Goss, and our train is the only one left.

i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z356/kitface/linefavouritesSTAGE1.jpg

1.2kms: Swift lets Gossy go, and he burst from the pack!

0.4kms: Goss is leading, with Leonardo Duque (Cofidis), Borut Bozic (QuickStep) and the Manx Missile (HTC) all nipping at his heels.

i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z356/kitface/gosslseadSTAGE1.jpg

0kms: But he holds on, two wins in a row for ChromeTech!

Post Race Wrap-Up
Gossy has cemented his spot as leader for this race, but Swifty still rode very well. Great win, he had a great lead out, and exactly what we wanted.

cunego59
Very nice start for you, congrats!

YvesStevens
Yay Goss wins!

I'm still super excited for this story, but since my school starts again this week, I may not post too often, maybe once or twice a week at the most. On weekends I will do posts, and once the holidays restart it will be ChromeTech mania! Stay posted though, new reports coming soon!

alexanderlens
so when is the next report?
Guess who's back? Smile
Lets see how many friens are still around...

YvesStevens
He already said he may not post under school time Wink

alexanderlens
my mistake. I'm on holydays now..
Guess who's back? Smile

Why does Lance have a 75 on Mtns??? He should have much more than that, like 78 or 79. And you cannot say it's because he is old, cause Horner is a better climber in your db. And in 2010 Lance did bad cause he crashed.
Sorry, I'm being rude and obnoxious.
Good luck anyway...
