Great preview, and I can't wait to see what you have to say about my team. I'm also really liking the little summary lines at the end.

So you rate Caruso higher than Cunego, who was also a free agent . Though of course Caruso is the Italian champion.
Cunego, who's that? Seriously though, I completely forgot about him
Not sure I see any advantage whatsoever in not spending as close to your 2,500,000 wage as you can get!
Neither do I It was more written to get another perspective on it. But definitely true, and they'll most likely pay for it this season. |

6 new teams are up, they are Oz Cycling Project, Pirelli – Alfa Romeo, Pokerstars.com, Proximus – Trek, Rapha Condor – Qhubeka and Saab – Scania.
Some very strong riders and teams there!

Interesting to read your thoughts on my team, no mention of Tennant or Stannard though? Afterall, last year in CT, while Ignatiev won 3 time trials, Stannard won 4.

My race planner didn't give me any headache this year. The only problem i have is that a couple of my goals were designed for a rider type that wasn't Valverde.

Nice read, ember! I totally agree with your view of the Oz: this season will be tough for our team, but you mentioned some races, where Lewis and our sprinters will have some chances though I like your focus on our prospects, too - makes me feel like I had some success in transfer-season despite our team being one of weakest atm

The main reason they weren't mentioned was simply because I don't see them as leaders who can bring in a lot of points. But obviously, they will be a great threat to anyone in both Duo Normand and Isle of Man TT. To not mention that they can "easily" pick up stage wins in prologues and time trials. Meaning they should probably have been mentioned. |

Interesting approach to my team, though I will need a lot of luck and no crashes from my "trio" if the team shall have any chance for promotion. Top 10 should be doable this season, as you mention yourself and then I will hopefully be one of the contenders for promotion next year.

oohm, actually Lövkvist isn´t riding in Vuelta a Mallorca. And I don´t know why I picked that as a goal either.
And I think Francesco Chicchi fits in as a "stagehunter" too, his better then Westling.
Fun reading all these previews, gets really excited to start the racing! |

Another very interesting preview. I like the way you explained the teams project for the season and how you condensed it in the final punch line.
And btw you're right, I can't wait for the 2014 season

6 new teams are up. 2 strong contenders for promotion in T.CS Bank - OJSC Rosneft and Team Bianchi, 4 new teams in Team Bpost, Team CSC – Orbea, Team Puma – SAP, Team Rothaus – Aegon.
All teams should be interesting in the upcoming season! |

Nice read. But I don`t totally agree with my team prediction.
But let`s see how it will be after the season.
And unfortunately I must have missed Limousin, where Boom won`t start. Also Hesjedal won`t start in Austria as the opponents are too strong with Alarcon for example.

That's what fun about these previews. Chances are good someone will be correct, and other will be way off. I can easily see my own preview be way off
And unfortunately I must have missed Limousin
That makes two of us, if it helps. I missed it completely for Larsson/Roux too.

I know and this is a shame. I think I have enough suitable races for Boom, but Bayern, Denmark, Limousin should have been a must go. ;( and now I missed 1/3 there.
But still sure he will be great and a good rider in the rider rankings, one of my best for sure.
(I think M.Velits will surprise us, too) |

To my team goals: I am there a bit conservative but it's like
90% my team
10% possible transfers
So I think my goals should be ok to have 3 from 5 I think which should be good for next season, first season not 1 goal achieved, 2nd season just 1, if I should go to ProTour I want to be sure to have money to train 1 rider a lot or 2 a bit
I think Cobo is the real deal of the team as he has a lot of very useful stats above 76 while Monfort, Claeys etc. aren't that good there
As I said in my team pr media thread, Cobo will be used in races where I think he would make the most of his race days and the most of the team, I don't have to use him at the Strade Bianche for example as it would be waisted with Monfort/Claeys there, while at Subida al Naranco, Trofeo Melinda, GP of Wales and San Sebastian he should do the best teamwise, because Monfort or Claeys wouldn't have a chance on winning Top 5 these
Tour de Pologne will be a overkill full of my hill riders, just Rabon isn't there:
Cobo, Monfort, Claeys, Gil, De la Fuente, Vantournhout, Matzbacher and Odebrecht
So Monfort will be a free rider but not the Captain there, Cobo should take it
I think Cobo should Top 3 there, everything else will be a disappointment as the 5th and 6th stage.. I'd say 70mo won't be enough there
Ciolek will win at least a stage (this is a must) or a race this season for sure
And:
We prefer top 5s, enough of them leads to ProTour!
I agree 100% with that

Also don`t overestimate the Criterium Hainleite race. I think it suits Vantomme pretty well. The hills in the end aren`t very hard and the cobbles are downhill. I just played the stage once in PCM11 but it was a sprint of a halfed peloton due to a crash.
@Rin: Good to know that your big team is in Pologne. Then it was a smart idea not to send my best riders there and more likely aim for stage wins.
