Keukeleire taking 7th. That's not bad from him, actually. Congrats goes to Ember for the win.
Edit: Also, disappointed with Txurruka being dropped and losing 11 minutes.

The way PCM11 AI works, that could lend itself to a breakaway win, if that's any consolation at all

If it gives Txurruka a victory, I will accept the time loss. Otherwise, I find it unacceptable.

Disappointing TTT for Bianchi but I am just looking forward to the mountain stages as we have here a team around Lloret and so no sprinters with the best would be Festinas Rohan Dennis who should gain experience here and he did with the breakaway
I hope Lloret will be good enough for a Top 5 here as he maybe with MO77 a bit weak but is a bit stronger as the MO80 riders as a lot of them haven't got a lot of helpful stats which is required here at the Tachira

Cerne already looked like the sure winner with 3 riders in front. So pretty much bad luck to lose in a photo finish. |

Nice to see Talansky getting into the breakaway in his first pro road race. And then my other Wikipedia loanee Kovalev somehow manages to finish 11. Hopefully stage 3 (again) can bring the same surprising results.

That was definately unexpected, great to get the first win for the team though
Feel a little bit like a robber though, Cerne had a perfect leadout for Santos, and looked set for the stage win. |

Well as long it's not Castaño who is loosing that much time, then I don't care who does from my team (Corrales).
Aker really bounced back from their TTT, a nice win for them for sure.

Wuhuu. My first stagewin of the season, and I haven't even started racing yet (Keukeleire FTW!)

Bit bizarre from Vespa there:
5 Matteo Carrara Vespa - Aprilia - De Rosa s.t.
With Carrara as the designated sprinter, no wonder we didn't try and get in the break. |

Ah this is frustating
My plan for this race was to perform decently in the TTT and go for stage wins in the flat stages, and maybe try and hold the yellow jersey before the mountains arrive. Time for Plan B then: take on the remaining flat stages.
I wonder why we had such a bad time in Stage 1. Given the field I really wasn't expecting to come 11/12.
Anyway I'm glad we could show ourselves as a powerful sprint train even in a race where we're the only ones fully focused in the mass sprints.

Are there bonifications on the mountain stages too? And how many are there for 1st and 2nd place, as there seemed to be 6 bonus seconds for Sabatini's third place?
Looking forward to see the race reports coming again. The first 2 were great reading! |

I sense a conspiracy! Exact same top 8? I demand that this is investigated!
Also: Not bad having two in the top 10. How do my climbers perform so well in sprints?
And at last: Keukeleire FTW
