Latest new on Soler: He has severe damages in his head, and is not able to speak at the moment. He can respond to simple commands, but not much more. He also has problems with swallowing.
A long way to go for him

Interesting article on rider salaries: https://www.lejdd....ce-355759/
For example, the total wage bill of the 18 ProTour teams (489 runners) is less than that of the twenty players of Olympique Lyonnais.

Sebastian Lang will retire after the season with 32 years.
Reason for it the change into a life without cycling would become harder with every year. |

News from Brad Wiggins:
(Twitter)
@bradwiggins Bradley Wiggins
For everyone asking Op went well, feeling more human this evening and am already planning for end of the season
All focus on WorldsTT now as the big one for the end of the season with most likely prep being the Vuelta which will be a first for me
Only downside being will miss Nat TT and TOB!! but something has to give as hadn't planned on crashing out of TDF.

Came back from cycling holiday and read that High-Road is rumoured to have a new sponsor...which surprisingly is supposed to come from germany. Cant think of any of the big companies that could afford that. The climate is still not right for a big sponsorship imo. Its rumoured to be EON as they are already involved in Thürniger Energie Team and there are close connections between the two teams. Will be interesting what will be announced tomorrow. |

Hmm, nice. But german television is in their last year of live coverage of the Tour de France? So a german sponsor is kind of wierd. But interesting for sure.

Well, Germany is more or less the only remaining European country with a healthy economy, the recession is everywhere else, including the USA.
So, a German sponsor is not that ridiculous, especially if they're in to market world wide, not only in Germany. |

Speaking of HTC, Brian Holm says that he has received an offer from a team which "has the budget, but lacks points and management".
He will be able to take Aldag, Zabel and 4-5 of the best riders from HTC with him, he says.
However, if Stapleton comes up with a new sponsor, I'm pretty sure that Brian Holm will stay with the team. |

Are you Bob Stapleton, CT?
A big rumour is that E-ON could be the German sponsor. You knew it for months now, didn`t you?

I am pretty sure, yes. I think they already wanted him last year.
