Gilbert attacks on the poggi and solos to victory......that or farrar takes the sprint Smile

Is Haussler completely ok after his crash? If so, he is my pick.

ye, haussler took some points at an intermediate yesterday, so i guess he is fine

I think Hushovd is going to be captain in MSR. He has stated that it is one of his goals before he retires, and I don't think he will be very happy if he's not captain. And I don't think he would ride for Garmin - Cervelo if he didn't have any guarantees that he could accomplish his goals.

Hushovd is much stronger than he has ever been at this time of year, it looks very promising.

I don't think that sprinters like Cav and Farrar will be able to get over the Poggio along with the leading group. If riders like Gilbert wants to win they probably have to go on the climb, which will increase the speed of the group behind. At least I hope so Smile

but Norway boys..Haussler has been much faster this year..was much faster when was leading out Thor and got just beaten by Cavendish at San Remo race
And for shure he can take hills..
As Garmin manager I should prefer faster rider for final sprint

I only said that Hushovd looks much stronger than he has ever been at this time of year. Not that they should ride for him instead of Haussler Smile

Garmin Cervélo has a luxury problem, with at least 3 possible winners if it turns into a sprint and they also have riders who are capable of going on the last climb. The biggest problem is Hushovd vs. Haussler as they are both very strong. I guess that daily form is going to decide if they are going for Haussler or Hushovd.

EDIT: And even if Haussler is stronger you have to remember that Hushovd most likely was promised a captains role for the MSR when he signed the contract. We wont know how Garmin will play this out, but I hope they won't mess things up by going for Hushovd eventhough he has a bad day

Haussler could be good, though with his injury problems it might be a tough ask.

What injury problems? Haussler showed in PN he has no problems

Boonen you forget! This is one of the only races he did not win. Do you believe in his chances? Otherwise I hope Petachi

It's Petacchi and in my opinion he doesn't stand a chance here, at least I hope so, I hate this guy. Really hope Haussler does it this year, it's time for a big win

Haussler on decent on stage 6, crashed into a wall, he looke in real pain and some thought he had poblem with his wrist, but he rode on, so I think he is alrigt, though the crash was ugly.

The trains will be interesting. Garmin-Cervelo have Haussler, Hushovd and Farrar, HTC-Highroad have Goss, Renshaw and Cav. Lampre have Petacchi and Hondo, plus you can't count out Greipel.

He had a flu so he pulled out of Tirreno, doubt he will be strong enough.

Trains? I doubt there will be many 'trains'. Not with riders like Di Luca, Gilbert and Scarponi animating the race on the Poggio. The likes of Freire, Hushovd and Haussler can make it to the finish, possibly Petacchi and Bennati. No Cav or Greipel.

jph27
Cav can get over, if he has the form. Greipel, if he's as good as he thinks he is, should.
