They should have Protour license, without Satre and Menchov at the TDF, be weakened field, you never want a weakened field at the TDF, you want most of the best climbers in the world, it would be pathetic and ridiculous if they weren't even to get a wildcard to the tour.

There sponsorship was known (or at least rumored) as far back as august, far before we knew about the UCI ranking thing (or at least before it was known it would be enforced). |

And Im fairly sure that by August the UCI's initial best 17 teams plan had been announced.

Since Menchov is one of my favourite riders, then I would be very sad if he ain't participating in any of the GT's mainly the Tour of course! I don't really understand UCI but then again who does?

It would be strange if ASO didn't invite them to the Tour. Former Tour winner in Sastre and potential podium finisher in Menchov. Same goes for the Vuelta.
Apart from keeping the sponsor happy, all the PT license would do for them would be to guarantee them entry into races they maybe shouldn't be riding. Euskaltel at PR anyone? |

I don't think that you should be afraid of Geox not being invited to the Tour. Both BMC and Cervelo have been invited to pretty much all the races they wanted to attend despite not being Pro Tour.
Geox' squad is good enough. |

Hence the "enforced" part. For instance, when they announced they would be using that about a month ago the FDJ head (Maillot I think) was really pissed because he didn't know about it. It may have been in the rules, but I don't know if anyone thought it would be enforced. |

Madiot is annoyed because under the Top 17 system that had been around for a few months at least and long presumed as the system set to be used, FDJ were fine. It was only about a month ago when the UCI came up with a brand new mysterious system that FDJ lost out - Geox were set to miss out either way.

In a somewhat unrelated note, FDJ wouldn't have missed out, had they sent in the contracts of all their riders. One of their new riders (I don't remember which one) would have put FDJ over AG2R, probably securing them a ProTeam license. |

I guess he renewed his contract then. Either way, it wasn't sent in:

The UCI are idiots, in short. They make a system to, a few months later say "actually no, we're going to do this one".
Bah.. rant over.
(The subject of the UCI anoys me, in case anyone didn't already know that)

Michael Rasmussen's personal sponsor, Christina Hembo, owner of Christina Design London, has bought a UCI-registered team (still undisclosed which one it is), meaning that she will take over all personel, including rider contracts.
The team will be named Christina Watches, and Michael Rasmussen will (of course) be the leader of the team.

It's a Danish continental team, meaning either:
Glud & Marstrand, Team Concordia, Team Energi Fyn and Team Stenca. All of them have denied.
I guess it could also be Designa Køkken - Blue Water which was/is set to close at the end of this year. There are still a bunch of riders on the team without contracts for 2011. |

Fuentes again(duh), LL Sanchez possibly involved. Can't wait to hear/read more about it in the coming days/weeks. |

As I read an article about this later this afternoon, it says that LL Sanchez isn`t involved like said earlier today.
It`s more about athletic sports with the names Fuentes, Manuel Pascua Piqueras and Marta DomÃnguez. |
