I have to insist, i were never about this season anyway. Yes, Gusev was a horrid signing, but at the time, it made sense.
Gusev could have been a quality signing, I'm sure. You're just not a good manager |

I don't think they dislike mountains, they are just quite hard to find in the flatlands

I'm happy with the overall performance of my team when I look at the first season and I think Monfort was a very good deal and team classification wins like the win at the Euskal Bizikleta are also very good
But I think to rebuild my team because I'm not that happy with the performance of my sprinters Hochmann is better then Stauff, Weissinger and Roberts but maybe the "mountains" are too much for him at the moment at the Tour de Picardie while he performed a bit better at the earlier stages of the season

Yeah, I've already know who I'm deficiently won't offer a renewal and since Serpa will get older, then he is defiantly not worth that high wage in my eyes. It was mostly a panic buy but he has done really good so far in the season and I'm not really regretting spending that much money on him...yet.
Next season will be different though, I need some younger lads on the team but I'm not the only one who needs that

Fenian: I think Bososio, Ginanni and Steegmans are either overpaid or overrated - I may be proved wrong by Ginanni but I think he will not win a single race all season! In the Giro though Vespa were fantastic (apart from GC!)
rycadinho: Until recently like Kami also I did not know that the youth rankings counted as points scoring. To be fair to us, it does not say that in the points scoring file. To be fair to SN and the team, it was not a question that was asked. We probably should have realised that it did count! Ikea and Wiggle have a number of riders who are doing great on overall GC and youth GC's. Of course youth riders do not count for nothing on one day races but even so a surprising amount of points have been gathered by those squads from the youth rankings. It often turns a very good race into a great one or an average race into a good one.
Regarding Serpa he was a good signing in terms of getting goals, I set my goals as far too mixed for a new team. |

Smowz: You're not the only one haveing too spread out goals. I got 2 stage race wins (I need more luck than even possible to get those :-p) and 2 flat classics (I hope Vaitkus will take those). Then again I decided to go for only scandinavian goals, so that kind of made the decision for me :-p
Anyway, next season I'll be more cynical with the goals I think

As did quite a few!
Ringerike GP - 4 teams have a goal to win, another team has a goal to do Top 5
Scandinavian Race Uppsala - 3 teams have a goal to win, 2 teams have a Top 5 goal

EDIT: bytheway how is Galimzyanov doing SN?
Denis is just back from California. He didnt go for the sprints, but got himself on TV during Stage 2. He's off to Ireland next, before the Tour de Suisse, and then the biggy, the Tour de France. I believe his best result is 9th in a Paris-Nice stage

OlegTinkov: I must admit I did feel a bit guilty about posting that one this morning, the thought crossed my head that levi (Mercedes team manager) would be going to bed soon as I got out of bed! With Jelejah Malaysia I was really trying to speed that up as I knew that a lot of players were waiting for the Giro.
In general though for short tours I plan to keep it at one report per dayish (unless I am busy in the evening, then it will wait). The other thing that I will be doing is posting and this time sticking to when I will place the reports. |

I have chosen stupid goals for this season, not really knowing what to expect, but it worked out in the end. Can't wait for next season.

Bosisio is on close to mimimum wage and he is definitely overpaid. Done absolutely nothing ever. I'm hoping Cilit Bang come in with a big offer in the close season.
To do well in hilly races, you need luck. The luck has not been with Ginanni in races so far (I'm not going to mention .db settings for time gaps which cost him at least one second place in a stage race. I think I just did though) I can take been unlucky all season though, if he wins the Giro di Lombardia.
Steegmans is definitely overpaid - though he has delivered the goods in the races I had as a goal which is why I decided to renew his contract at the end of last season. I'll be pleased if getting goals is going to be richly rewarded - (and missing them punished) at the end of the season.
The plan is to sack him at the end of the season anyway, sign Cunego and cut back on the race program. What do Vespa care about promotion if we can ride the big Italian races? Tour of Picardie...bah! |

Also I hope that there will be taken into account how close you are to getting your goals, or by how much they are achieved...
Ex. Sam Bewley got 2nd in MSR, where the goal was a win.
CastaƱo got 5th in the Giro with goal was top 10.
Seems the goal overall is fairly contested, but as it is now it ads up to 1-1...
